Unfortunately fortunate

It was a rainy night and Flavin had snuck out to see Roland so she could tell him about Avery and Karl and what they’d been up to, everyone was in their quarters and rooms and it was raining cats and dogs outside, just about the right time to sneak out. She tiptoed down the stairs and through the back door, she changed into her wolf form and dived into the rain, running in the direction of the woods. She stopped in front of a cave which served as shelter to her just a few yards past the border, but Roland had already beat her to it. He was in the cave before she even got there, she switched back into her human form and put on the clothes she had brought along on.

“You’re late Flavin? Or do you want me to come down there and be getting you myself “ he said from behind her, where he had been waiting in the shadows, causing her to jump slightly.
