He established his business and assumed leadership of the Henderson Group in the next years. Henderson Group easily achieved new heights under his direction. Thome would receive a resounding thumbs up from everyone in the circle. Thome's appearance was also nothing short of remarkable. Connie was therefore not surprised that Charlene, a genius in her own right, had developed a strong romantic interest in Thorne, another genius. However, Thome could be mercilessly aloof toward those he didn't like.

Connie lost all of her magic with Thome after learning that he had misinterpreted and neglected Charlene's sincere love for years. She was aware of Charlene's intense affection for Thome. She had attempted to encourage Charlene to consider a divorce over the years, but Charlene had always shook her head in silence. She was therefore taken aback when Charlene eventually started the divorce process. She was unable to finish her meal and cast a sorrowful glance at Charlene. "What happened?" Connie realized that something had to have happened for Charlene to make such a choice, given her unwavering love for Thome.

"Really, it's nothing big," Charlene remarked after giving it some thought. Perhaps it's simply the accumulation of disappointments. All of a sudden, I was tired and wanted a divorce." Connie knew Charlene well enough to know that she wouldn't readily alter her decision once she made up her mind, even if she couldn't let go of Thome completely. She meant it. Connie approached Charlene and gave her a hug. It's all right. Perhaps it's best that way. Charlene gave a nod. "Yeah. " Charlene departed for her job after breakfast. She and Thorne worked at the same location when she moved out, but they never commuted together and always left the house at different times.

In addition, he was so reserved with her that it occasionally took them a month to cross paths at work. She ran into him twice in a row now that she was living on her own. Thorne appeared as dashing and calm as usual, yet his expression got colder every time he saw her. Thorne looked at her, like he had the day before, and then turned away. In solitude, she concentrated on her job. Her grandma called her around lunchtime.

We got a lamb from the city, Charlene. The temperature is dropping. How about we have supper together tonight? I'll have a roast lamb feast prepared for you. Charlene's heart warmed as she heard her grandmother's kind voice. "Okay, I'll come over after work." For the remainder of the day, other than in the morning, Charlene didn't come across Thorne. Coy gave her a paper and instructed her to handle it immediately as she was ready to leave work on time. Charlene hesitated. A quick look revealed to Charlene the paper wasn't urgently needed, even if Coy had stated it was. In the past, not wanting to stand out, she would have accepted the work with a grin and pledged to finish it as soon as possible.

However, she was no longer aiming for excellence, particularly when it came to Thorne. She was worn out. She didn't want to work extra; she just wanted to go home early to spend time with her grandma. Although she had always made an effort to keep a cordial relationship with Thorne's secretaries, it seemed pointless now that Coy had falsely accused her the day before, and she lacked the generosity to pretend nothing had happened. She turned to face Coy and said, "I won't be doing this work right now. I'm off the clock."
