FORTY TWO

Diane bounced down the stairs, a light grin on her face. Her hair was packed into a ponytail and she wore a blue shirt and a small top. She and Nicholas had chosen Friday night, which was yesterday, to go for their date. And it was awesome. Nicholas was so nice and gentle and all prince-charming. He kept doting on her, asking her what she wanted, what she liked and she enjoyed the way he treated her. He was a perfect gentleman all through.

The only problem was that there was someone in the restaurant who really creeped her out. A weird person, whose gender she wasn’t able to figure out. The person had a baseball hat over their head and wore a pair of sunglasses, which was just ridiculous. Diane could see the person taking notes and sometimes even raising up his or her phone in a very suspicious manner. It looked like the person wanted to take pictures. She had wanted to bring it to Nicholas' notice but she concluded that maybe she was just paranoid.
