Bradley's POV

I recognized desire in the depths of her eyes. But no matter how much I wanted her, I couldn't do this to her. No matter how much my bulge responded to her touches, I couldn't think of myself making love to her.

"I'm sorry, Lily. I can't do this," I said.

She was confused as she watched me pull away from her. And when she reached out to me again, I had jerked the door open and raced out into the storm.

I was only around her to protect her, and not to make love to her. Although I wished to make her mine, but I would be no different from my brother if I took advantage of her vulnerability. But how long would my self-control last?

Fortunately, I got home and peeled myself out of my soggy clothes and shoes. Then I took a warm bath and my mind drifted towards Lily. I shouldn't have left her all to herself, but I knew if I hadn't I would have succumbed to making out with her.

She was so delicate not to be soiled by my randy desires. She deserved so much more. Inten

  • Unspoken Pleasures    A Man Called Ryder (6)

Ryder had his eyes fixated on me as he ran over the story of who he was. He was a cardiologist who had been working in Louis' hospital for the past decade. He was thirty years old when his colleague, and his closest friend poisoned him. When the case was investigated, the reason for Ryder's near death was stealthy ridiculous.Rudolph had been arrested. Though he'd denied all accusations thrown at him. Raye had been supportive in helping Ryder's lawyer, she was the only one who had been able to see Ryder after all. It was warm to see that my parents loved Ryder O'Connell. Even Raye and Darlene hit it off after we all had dinner. Mum would never ceased to acknowledge the fact that I brought home the best suitor."Suitor?" The word laughed at me. She was already placing him at that level already? Wasn't she hilarious?I was forced to take Ryder to my previous room where I stayed before I moved out. Everyone wanted to eavesdrop on our conversation, and I desperately needed to be alone wi

Friday came.True to Ryder's words, his driver, Holt, came to pick me up in a Maybach. The interior had polished seats to suit its taste, stealing the pressing thought of how Ryder had relayed to his driver to pick me up. As the car neared my family's familiar residence, I could spot Darlene from where she stood, craning her neck. Holt stepped out from behind the steering wheel, circled the car halfway and opened the car.Darlene raced back into the house into the house when she'd noticed who alighted. And the room was cramped up as I entered. "Where's he?" Mum cocked a brow once I was inside. Inhaling sharply, I tried a smile. This would be the most preposterous thing I had ever done. Maybe, I should just come out with the truth. Spill the beans about Ryder, my boyfriend being in the hospital and how very much our love would wake him up.Despite my polished dress and exquite made-up face, I visibly tried to hide my growing fear that Ryder obviously wasn't going to wake up from tha

I couldn't even bring myself to make love to Ryder on my return home. The memory of how his his body was stuck to machines for life support had me weakend. His parents would not believe it when I explained to them how I had met Ryder. Only his younger sister, Raye, who was 18 believed my tale. Raye had me going over each detail of my story over again. Then she explained to me how Rudolph, Ryder's best friend had poisoned Ryder, same way Ryder had told me the story. And how Rudolph stood trail, placed behind bars losing both the woman and Ryder who was still in his sickbed.Mum called, disrupting my thoughts, hollering that she wanted me home - away from my maddened house. I supposed Travis must had given her the story behind such a comment."My apartment is not cursed, mother," I slapped a hand to my temples as I began to undress before my mirror.I needed to see Ryder, this time, I didn't want to see him stuck to a bed. But smiling at me with those dark eyes of his. "Are you undres

A knock racked on the door as I was getting ready to leave the house to the hospital where Ryder described where his body was. I glanced at the wall clock, it was almost noon, and I certainly wasn't expecting any visitor. One quick peep through the peephole, my stomach churned violently. Reluctantly, I forced my hand to pull the door open. Travis, my ex boyfriend stared wide eyed at me. Although his feet shuffled, his eyes remained fixated on me."What are you doing here?" My lips blurted out before he was given a chance to utter a word."Your mum said you were on holiday. So I decided to drop by," he raised a package in his hand. I figured it was red wine, my favorite."My mum?" I wrinkled my brows. Maybe, I wasn't following. I knew how my mum adored Travis. She even believed my best friend, Rylee had placed a charm on him to swirl his heart from me. Though, she never indulged me with how much Travis had hurt me, she still believed Travis might return to me 'when his eyes opened'. Th

Mum played a trick on me, and I believed Darlene must have relayed what she saw me doing to myself to my mum. I had to drive home when news flashed that my dad had an accident while he worked at the sawmill. But when I reached home, dad was the first to welcome me."What is this I hear, you are groping yourself in front of your full length mirror? Do you really miss Travis that much?" Mum blasted me while we sat at the dinning table.I shot a gnarl at Darlene. She had promised not to tell. Darlene swirled her gaze away, pretending not to notice my eyes on her."I'm talking to you, Mylar," mum shot at me as she sat down. I knew how my mum could be so insistent, she would want to know the little nothings. And I couldn't tell her about the haunted house nor could I tell her about Ryder."I wasn't groping myself, mum. I was performing, you know acting. And I do not miss Travis." I chipped in, fixing a glare at Darlene. Probably I should had turned on the locks in the house so she wouldn't

A Man Called Ryder (1)One week ago, I'd received a note which was placed on my desk in the parlour. At first it had me wondering who would have walked into my house to drop that message. When I peeled it open, it read:'You take my breath away, and I marvel at every contour of your body.'Goosebumps pimpled my flesh, my heart drummed. Someone was watching me even while I undress, ate and did every other thing in the house. Due to how I commuted from Grace Elementary school to where I formerly lived, I decided to take my principal's idea to get an apartment which was close to the school. And the strangest things had been occuring since I moved into my new place. I had tried to calm my worried thoughts, play along and hopefully whoever that person was would reveal himself. So I thought.Strangely even as I wrote back and place each letter on the table, and stick around in dark corners to catch this individual, I would regrettably see no one.'I know you've been waiting up all night to
