AFTER their class, Kace and her staff proceeded to the office again to think of an alternative plan. They were all feeling hopeless already.
But Brandon was doing everything just to lighten up their spirits. “Come on guys! Cheer up!” He clapped his hands. “We still have time to save the pub.”
They all turned to him with a glare. “Tomorrow’s going to be Friday which means if we don’t find students to join us, we’re dead!” Chester hollered at him.
“Hey! Why are you all sulking up? We’re still on Plan A. We still have Plan B, C, D….” Brandon continued to mention the letters until Kace stood up.
“Brandon’s right. We can still do something. We’re not trying too hard guys. We need to plan a better strategy.” Kace said to them.
“Yeah! Now that’s what I’m talking about. High-five, Chief!” Brandon raised his hand up but Kace shook her head. “Oh okay. Got it.”
“Then what do we do?” Kenneth asked.
“I think we should start by cleaning up here. We should let them see how cool is the place they’re missing if they won’t join us.” Kace smiled at Nix who was approving of her next move.
“YEAH!” Brandon and Chester high-fived. Then, the latter paused. “Wait. Where are we gonna look for money to spend on?”
“We can just… save from our allowance,” Max suggested.
“We can do that but even if we do save some, it still won’t be enough for renovation. We only have six members. And we’ll be needing paint, wood, etcetera…” Chester explained.
Max nodded. Then, Nix stood up from her seat. “I just had the most brilliant idea.” They all turned to her with anticipating looks. “We can just sell cookies and stuffs that my mom bakes on the park.”
“Oh wow! Finally you thought of something relevant.” Brandon applauded her. Nix just raised a brow at him.
“I think that’s a great idea Nix.” Kace nodded. “Who else is amenable with that?”
They all raised their hands up.
“Okay then. We’ll start tomorrow.”

LUKE was silently listening to his music as his brother was watching him from the rear-view mirror. They were already on their way home after their classes that day.
Lance was still worried about his brother because he knew he was still affected by the break-up. He missed the old Luke who used to be so cheery, warm and bright. Now, he was the exact opposite – gloomy, cold and dark. He wished he would see the old him again.
When Luke noticed that his brother was looking at him, he took his headphones off and asked, “Yes?”
Lance shook his head. “It’s nothing. Do you want to eat outside for dinner?”
He put back his headphones on his ears. “Anything is fine.” He leaned his head on the window when suddenly, he saw a familiar figure walking on the sidewalk. “W-Wait! Stop the car.”
His brother pulled the car to a stop. He turned to him in confusion. “What? Why?”
“Uh…” Luke was still looking out the window. He was unsure of himself whether to step out of the car and accompany Kace inside the pet shop or just go home.
Lance followed his line of vision and finally saw what his brother was fussing about. “Ah! I understand now. It’s that girl from yesterday. Are you going to follow her again?”
Luke glared at him. “No. Let’s just… go home.”
Lance shook his head. If he’s going to go home, he’d just isolate himself again and get more depressed. “No. Get out of the car, Luke. If it’s for your project or something, you should help her, right?”
“But…” He sighed. “All right. I’m going.” He stepped out of the car and slammed the car door.
Lance smirked. “I’ll go ahead now. Bye!”

WHEN the car was out of sight, Luke dragged his feet inside the pet shop where he saw Kace entering. He scanned the shop hoping to get a glimpse of her and soon enough, he saw her on the area of the hamsters.
“So cute!” He heard her say as she admired the pet infront of her.
Kace turned beside the cage of the hamster and saw a rabbit staring down at her. She bent down to look at it closer. “Aww! What a cute bunny!”
“That would be 150 dollars, miss. That rabbit is a rare breed. It came from another country,” one of the store assistants said.
“Ah… I… was just looking at it. I… don’t have money to buy it.” She stepped away from the cage and decided to just go out of the store since she didn’t really have enough money to buy.
Luke just watched her as she walked out of the shop. Just then, one of the assistants saw him. “Sir, did you want to buy something?”
“Uh… no… I mean, I was just looking…” He bowed before her and decided to follow Kace outside.
When he was already out, he saw her infront of the ice cream parlor from across the street. He was about to march his way over her but then, he saw a guy walking up to Kace. He stopped walking and decided to just forget about her and go back inside the pet shop.

THE ice cream parlor was one of Kace’s most favourite places apart from the convenience store and the bookstore. So when she caught sight of it, she decided to buy one just to cool off a bit. She was about to open the door of the parlor when suddenly, someone grabbed the handle first.
“Aha! I knew you’d be here.” Chandler greeted her with another wicked smirk. “Mind if I join you?”
“Ugh!” She pushed the door open and ignored his remark.
“Hey! Larson, wait up!” He followed her inside as she proceeded to the counter and ordered an ice cream. “I’d have that one too, miss.” He said to the girl on the cashier.
“What are you doing here, Parker?” Kace finally asked.
He smirked. “Why? Can’t I eat ice cream now?”
“Yes. But there are a lot of shops here. Can’t you just go somewhere else?”
“No. Because I was expecting to see you here. How’s your recruitment going?” He teased. “I heard you haven’t gotten anyone. That’s too bad.”
“If you came here just to piss me off, then I might as well be the one to walk out.” She was about to turn her back but Chandler stopped her.
“All right. I’ll stop now.” He raised his hands up.

THEY were now both sitting on one table not speaking with each other. Kace silently ate her cookies and cream as she stared out at the street across them where she came from.
She continued to fill her mouth when suddenly, she saw two unexpected persons walking side by side while holding hands on the pavement.
She almost choked causing Chandler to stand up. “Hey! Are you okay?” He offered her a bottle of water.
She nodded. “I… think you should go now.”
“What? Me?”
“Uh… I mean, I’ll go now then.” She stood up hoping to distract him. Even though Chandler has done nothing but piss her, she still didn’t want him to see what she saw.
“Wait, I’ll drive you home then,” he said to Kace while she just continued to march her way out of the store.
Chandler was a bit confused as to why Kace was acting that way. So he followed her until they reached his car parked outside. “What are you fussing about?”
Kace was still seeing the two walking on the sidewalk across them so he pulled Chandler in the manner in which he wouldn’t be able to see them.
He was now facing her as she tightened her grip on his robust arms. “Hey! What are you doing?” He asked her.
“I... uh… can you just stand still? I’m hiding from someone.” She pretended to hide herself infront of the tall guy.
“Who are you hiding from?” He was about to look behind him but Kace managed to stop him again.
She tiptoed and covered his eyes.
“Hey! Larson, what are you doing?” He fought hard trying to shake her hands away from his face until finally, he did.
Kace sighed.
“What is wrong with you?” Chandler fixed his coat as he noticed what Kace was looking at.
From where they were standing, Chandler could clearly see his girlfriend entering a restaurant nearby with her arms wrapped on another guy’s arms.
And the worst part was that… the guy was one of his close friends.

"GOOD MORNING, beautiful!" Luke greeted Kace over the phone that morning, waking her up from her sleep."Good morning, Luke!" She answered, yawning."Had a good sleep?""Mmm... yeah. Not quite," she confessed, smiling. The truth was she was up all night because of him. They were talking over the phone until midnight so she really hadn't gotten a good sleep the past few nights.Luke chuckled. "Are you ready?"She creased her brows. "Ready for what?""We're heading to London today."She quickly straightened herself up in bed. "Is it today? I almost forgot about that.""Should I help you pack your things?" Luke asked."No, I'm alright. I can manage.""Kace, I insist. I'll be there in a minute." And just like that, he hung up. She froze for a split second before realizing what he just said. Minute? He's here? Before she could even think about it, there was already a knock on her door. She quickly tied her hair up and fixed her clothes. "But I'm still in my PJs," she hushed to herself."Ka
“If I could live my life again, I wanted to spend it with the people I love. I wanted to cherish every moment with them. I didn't want to regret anything in the end.”Kace closed the book she was reading. She felt like it was something she was supposed to be saying. A year has already passed, yet the memories of that day continued to creep in her mind. Nightmares would often visit her, mostly about that day of her supposedly wedding, which turned out to be a blood bath. She was supposed to proofread the article she just finished for the magazine she has been working at. But her mind was hindering her from doing so. She glanced at her table and watched Lulu and Kass sleeping soundly inside their cage. She couldn't help but feel gloomy seeing them without LuKa. Her precious pet died months ago. For some reason, she thought it was because he felt lonely and sad about his master. But that was her actually.Sighing, she stood up from her seat and proceeded to their lounge room. She turned
She was lying on the ground with her hands tied behind her. She wanted to shout for help but her mouth was covered with a handkerchief. Her eyes caught two persons lying beside her. It was Luke and Chandler. Before she could even react, two people appeared inside the warehouse. She could feel herself trembling in fear. Her whole body was sweating. She couldn't move. She was too weak. And then they were being brought somewhere else again. After riding inside the van, she just found herself standing in a yacht still with Chandler and Luke beside her.Kassandra, just relax and try to focus on the scene... You're safe, remember that. She gulped hard, as Chandler grabbed her, while watching Luke defending himself from Mr. Parker. She wanted to help him, but it was too late. Her body plunged into the water with Chandler.Just open your eyes slowly, Kassandra. In three... two... one... CLICK!She could hear the music playing waking her up from trance, but she was still panting hard like she
WHEN Kace woke up, she found herself sitting on the ground inside a dark warehouse, with her hands tied up behind her and her mouth wrapped with a handkerchief. Her head was still a bit heavy and her eyes were blurry, but she could clearly see two people beside her who were also tied up - Chandler and Luke. "Mmm... mmm...." She struggled to speak.Just then, the two guys slowly regained consciousness. Looking at their faces, they were all shocked to see each other there. Luke tried to move from his seat, reaching for the knife on his ankle, but he couldn't move his hands.Tears rolled down Kace's eyes, realizing what was happening to them. She never imagined something like this could happen. It was terrifying, knowing that she was helpless. She saw Chandler and Luke looking at her, shaking their heads, as if trying to tell her that everything would be alright.Seconds later, the door opened, revealing two middle-aged men, both walking their way towards them. Their eyes widened in disb
Luke was hastily driving the car, trying to arrive at the hotel on time. He was calling Mykel since this morning, but the guy wouldn’t pick up. He was getting infuriated. Their plan of taking Kace away from that wedding was the only way to save her. They have to make it work.He arrived in Florida a week before that, but he never contacted Kace. He was afraid Chandler might find out that they have a plan of taking her away. Mykel, on the other hand, just arrived in Florida yesterday because of some business stuffs going on in their company in New York. And now he was trying to get hold of Mykel to confirm if he was already on his post, but to his dismay, the guy wasn’t returning any of his calls. “Come on, Myke! Pick up!” He muttered to himself.Minutes later, he arrived at the hotel where Kace was getting fixed. He immediately saw Kris standing on the parking lot, making him sigh in relief. He stepped out of his car with a cap and shades on to make sure no one recognizes him. “Kace i
KACE was walking down the aisle with her dad beside her. She was anxious with every step she was taking. She could see a tall guy dressed in tux waiting for her on the altar. It was no doubt Chandler. Her brother, Kris was also there, looking at her worriedly. The people watching her were strangers in her eyes, except for her friends who were on the front row.Nix and Brandon, Stephen and Sailyn, Chester, Ken, Max were standing in one line; Alex, Theo, JM, Vince and Jane on the other. She was searching for two more people inside - Luke and Mykel. They weren't there. Of course, they weren't on the guest list.As soon as her dad handed her to Chandler, she felt uncomfortable. The tall guy was smiling at her. But she was too nervous to even smile back. She took another glance at Kris. He just lifted his chin up at her, signalling her to just continue. She followed Chandler, as they stood infront of the priest. The ceremony already started. She was clutching her hand into a fist, as the
It has been hours since the dancing lessons started. It was already noon, yet Chandler was still so giddy to practice. Millie was of course, just trying to keep up, though she didn’t really want to do anything related to the wedding per se. She was just looking away, as she swayed with Chandler.“Ms. Wilson, are you okay?” The dance instructor called out to her, catching her attention.“I’m fine, ma’am,” she answered the instructor. But Chandler wasn’t convinced. “You don’t look okay, Millie. Are you sick?” He said, bringing his hand on her forehead. “You’re not warm or anything.”“Just rest for a while,” Nix advised, who was dancing with Brandon next to them.“Yeah, Chandler.” Stephen butted in, who was also with Sailyn.“No, I’m fine. Thank you guys,” Millie insisted. She tried to pretend she was happy that whole time they were dancing. She couldn’t help but envy Nix and Brandon who was evidently happy dancing together, even Stephen who was paired up with Sailyn looked enthusiastic.
Millie took a deep breath, before stepping inside their apartment. She knew Chandler was waiting for her inside. She tried to calm herself down and prevent herself from slapping or cursing him. She had to endure being with him, until Luke or Kris told her to do so ‘cause right at that moment, she had no idea how she could stop the wedding. As soon as she reached inside, a smiling Chandler greeted her with a hug. “Millie, I’ve missed you so much.”“M-Me too, Chandler.” She cringed inside, after saying that.Chandler must’ve noticed something strange about her so he asked, “What’s wrong, Millie?”She faked a smile, shaking her head. “Nothing. I just… really missed you.”He patted her head. “We’re going back to Florida tomorrow to prepare for the wedding. Mom and Dad are thrilled about it. Aren’t you?”But she wasn’t thrilled at all. She was scared of what might happen to the people around her. If she’d just continue the wedding, then no one’s life would be put in danger. She just had to
MILLIE’s hands started to tremble, as soon as she finished reading the letter which Luke gave her. She couldn’t understand anything from it. Her tears just started to escape from her eyes and she didn’t know how long this would last. Fortunately, Luke was there to comfort her. “Kace, I’m sorry.” He muttered.“Luke, I don’t understand. What happened before? Who is trying to threaten mom? Why is she protecting us from that person? Please just tell me…” She pleaded.Luke heaved a sigh. “Just… calm down for now, Kace.”“Luke, I can’t just calm down now. What do you know? Please… I beg of you.” She could feel her knees getting weak already so Luke assisted her to sit on the couch first.Mykel already appeared from the kitchen by that time with a glass of water in his hands and handed it to Millie. “Here. Drink first before you hear us out.”She nodded, taking a drink from the glass. “Now tell me…”***Eleven-year-olds Landon and Xander were playing in the playground during that one afterno
