ANOTHER day meant a chance to redeem herself from the embarrassment that happened to her yesterday. Running towards the main entrance, the guard suddenly stopped Kace, confusing her.
“Your identification card miss?” The guard asked her.
“Oh, right!” She dug inside her bag and searched for her ID. Why did I forget to wear it today? I’ll be late again in class for sure. She managed to wake up early and avoid his brother’s attempt to make breakfast again and yet, this came up.
“Miss, where is it?” the guard demanded her.
Kace was positive that her ID was inside her bag but then, she couldn’t find it this time. Damn it!
She was starting to get anxious, not because of the guard but because of the time. Come on just show yourself to me now.
“If you don’t have it, then you can’t enter miss. You know the rules.” The guard reminded her, annoying her even more.
“Uhm… it’s just here somewhere… please just let me in. I’ll be late for class now, sir.” She tried to beg but he ignored her instead.
The guard attended to the other students who were on queue.
Kace sighed to herself, stepping to the side as she continued to rummage her bag. What luck!
After minutes of hopelessly searching for her ID, she heard the guard calling her. “Miss, you may now enter!”
She looked at him, confused as ever. “Sir, what did you say?”
“Here’s your ID. Apparently, you dropped it and a student found it.”
“R-Really? Uh… where is the student, sir?” She asked him after handing back her ID.
The guard pointed at someone’s back who was now marching forward. She bowed before the guard and ran towards the student. “Hey! Wait!” She called out hoping to get his attention.
But, the guy continued to ignore her calling. She doubled up her speed to reach him. Then, she managed to pull his backpack, halting the guy in his tracks.
Kace was panting hard and gasping for air when he turned around to face her.
“What do you want?” The guy asked.
When she looked up, her jaw hung low, realizing who the guy was. It was the new student, Luke. “Oh… uh… it was you.”
“Me?” Luke asked back, his brows knitted at her.
“T-thank you for giving back my ID.” She said in hesitation.
Luke didn’t respond. He turned his back and continued to march his way to their building.
What a jerk!
But, at least he returned her ID. Kace ran her way to their building, walking past him. She was relieved to see that their teacher was still not in. But her face was now all covered in sweat as she took her seat.
“What happened to you?” Nix hissed beside her. “Did you just attend a marathon?”
“I… just…. ran my way here,” she answered, still catching her breath.
Nix nodded. “I knew it. Well at least you’re not late.”
Suddenly, Luke stepped inside the room. He glanced at her, but she avoided his gaze.
“What’s up with that?” Nix asked, noticing the awkward tension.
“What?” Kace asked nonchalantly.
“Why is the new student looking at you, again?” Nix threw a look at her in question.
“Maybe he was looking at you.”
“Oh please. Stop with the act, K.”
Kace smirked. “Why? You want me to get close to him so I can set you up with him, huh?” She teased.
“Hey! It’s not that. I already have someone in my heart.” Nix placed her hand over her chest dramatically.
“Nix, you’re making me throw up. Please stop that,” Kace told her.
Suddenly, they heard a voice from behind them. “What’s the commotion here?” Brandon wiggled his brows.
“Nix is being overly dramatic here.” Kace pointed at her friend.
Brandon frowned. “Not again, Nix!” He shook his head in disbelief.
“Fine. You two win.” Nix gave up, lifting her hands up in the air.
Just then, Stephen showed up inside the room and greeted Kace. “Good morning, Kace!”
“Morning Stephen!” she greeted back.
They watched as Stephen took his seat. Then, Brandon snapped his fingers over Nix’s face.
Nix glared at him. “Hey! What was that for?”
Brandon smirked. “Don’t make it too obvious, Nix. Stephen already knows that you’ve been crushing on him since then. But too bad, he likes Kace.”
Nix pierced a look at him and twisted his ear.
“Ah! Awwh!” Brandon winced in pain.
“Next time, better choose your words Brandon!” Nix warned her. “Or else, I’ll scratch you with my claws.” She showed him her long fingernails.
Brandon backed out and went back to his seat.
Kace just watched her two friends bicker at each other. She enjoyed watching them arguing always.
Just then, Kenneth, their class monitor proceeded infront and tried to silence everyone. But apparently, no one wanted to listen to him and everyone just continued to chat with their peers.
Kace couldn’t stand seeing this so she stood up from her seat. “Guys, Ken has something to say. Let’s listen to him.”
Everyone fell silent and turned to the front. “Thank you,” she said and sat down again.
Kenneth thanked Kace before starting to speak. “There are a few announcements this morning. First off, there’s an emergency meeting of all teachers from level III so we won’t have classes until lunch.”
Everyone in class started to rejoice. “And also, in the afternoon, all presidents of the clubs will have a meeting. By the way, Mr. Flores wants us to find lab partners now… unless you want him to assign us.”
“NO!!!” Everyone protested.
“Okay. We can now leave the room,” Ken announced.
Nix tapped Kace’s shoulder. “Where are we gonna hang out?” she asked as she grabbed her bag and stood up from her seat.
Kace shrugged. “Just at the office, I guess.” She was pertaining to their publication’s office where she usually just hangs out with the other staff.
“Don’t we have anywhere else to stay?” Nix asked.
She shook her head as she grabbed her bag. “Coming?” she asked Nix who was hesitating to go.
“Go ahead. I’ll just… go somewhere else for a while.” Nix answered.
Kace already knew that Nix just didn’t want to go to their office because it’s too messy and creepy and just like an attic full of cobwebs and all.
Truth was, their school was abandoning the pub, so they didn’t even give them enough funds to renovate their office. But despite this, Kace didn’t want to give up just yet.

"GOOD MORNING, beautiful!" Luke greeted Kace over the phone that morning, waking her up from her sleep."Good morning, Luke!" She answered, yawning."Had a good sleep?""Mmm... yeah. Not quite," she confessed, smiling. The truth was she was up all night because of him. They were talking over the phone until midnight so she really hadn't gotten a good sleep the past few nights.Luke chuckled. "Are you ready?"She creased her brows. "Ready for what?""We're heading to London today."She quickly straightened herself up in bed. "Is it today? I almost forgot about that.""Should I help you pack your things?" Luke asked."No, I'm alright. I can manage.""Kace, I insist. I'll be there in a minute." And just like that, he hung up. She froze for a split second before realizing what he just said. Minute? He's here? Before she could even think about it, there was already a knock on her door. She quickly tied her hair up and fixed her clothes. "But I'm still in my PJs," she hushed to herself."Ka
“If I could live my life again, I wanted to spend it with the people I love. I wanted to cherish every moment with them. I didn't want to regret anything in the end.”Kace closed the book she was reading. She felt like it was something she was supposed to be saying. A year has already passed, yet the memories of that day continued to creep in her mind. Nightmares would often visit her, mostly about that day of her supposedly wedding, which turned out to be a blood bath. She was supposed to proofread the article she just finished for the magazine she has been working at. But her mind was hindering her from doing so. She glanced at her table and watched Lulu and Kass sleeping soundly inside their cage. She couldn't help but feel gloomy seeing them without LuKa. Her precious pet died months ago. For some reason, she thought it was because he felt lonely and sad about his master. But that was her actually.Sighing, she stood up from her seat and proceeded to their lounge room. She turned
She was lying on the ground with her hands tied behind her. She wanted to shout for help but her mouth was covered with a handkerchief. Her eyes caught two persons lying beside her. It was Luke and Chandler. Before she could even react, two people appeared inside the warehouse. She could feel herself trembling in fear. Her whole body was sweating. She couldn't move. She was too weak. And then they were being brought somewhere else again. After riding inside the van, she just found herself standing in a yacht still with Chandler and Luke beside her.Kassandra, just relax and try to focus on the scene... You're safe, remember that. She gulped hard, as Chandler grabbed her, while watching Luke defending himself from Mr. Parker. She wanted to help him, but it was too late. Her body plunged into the water with Chandler.Just open your eyes slowly, Kassandra. In three... two... one... CLICK!She could hear the music playing waking her up from trance, but she was still panting hard like she
WHEN Kace woke up, she found herself sitting on the ground inside a dark warehouse, with her hands tied up behind her and her mouth wrapped with a handkerchief. Her head was still a bit heavy and her eyes were blurry, but she could clearly see two people beside her who were also tied up - Chandler and Luke. "Mmm... mmm...." She struggled to speak.Just then, the two guys slowly regained consciousness. Looking at their faces, they were all shocked to see each other there. Luke tried to move from his seat, reaching for the knife on his ankle, but he couldn't move his hands.Tears rolled down Kace's eyes, realizing what was happening to them. She never imagined something like this could happen. It was terrifying, knowing that she was helpless. She saw Chandler and Luke looking at her, shaking their heads, as if trying to tell her that everything would be alright.Seconds later, the door opened, revealing two middle-aged men, both walking their way towards them. Their eyes widened in disb
Luke was hastily driving the car, trying to arrive at the hotel on time. He was calling Mykel since this morning, but the guy wouldn’t pick up. He was getting infuriated. Their plan of taking Kace away from that wedding was the only way to save her. They have to make it work.He arrived in Florida a week before that, but he never contacted Kace. He was afraid Chandler might find out that they have a plan of taking her away. Mykel, on the other hand, just arrived in Florida yesterday because of some business stuffs going on in their company in New York. And now he was trying to get hold of Mykel to confirm if he was already on his post, but to his dismay, the guy wasn’t returning any of his calls. “Come on, Myke! Pick up!” He muttered to himself.Minutes later, he arrived at the hotel where Kace was getting fixed. He immediately saw Kris standing on the parking lot, making him sigh in relief. He stepped out of his car with a cap and shades on to make sure no one recognizes him. “Kace i
KACE was walking down the aisle with her dad beside her. She was anxious with every step she was taking. She could see a tall guy dressed in tux waiting for her on the altar. It was no doubt Chandler. Her brother, Kris was also there, looking at her worriedly. The people watching her were strangers in her eyes, except for her friends who were on the front row.Nix and Brandon, Stephen and Sailyn, Chester, Ken, Max were standing in one line; Alex, Theo, JM, Vince and Jane on the other. She was searching for two more people inside - Luke and Mykel. They weren't there. Of course, they weren't on the guest list.As soon as her dad handed her to Chandler, she felt uncomfortable. The tall guy was smiling at her. But she was too nervous to even smile back. She took another glance at Kris. He just lifted his chin up at her, signalling her to just continue. She followed Chandler, as they stood infront of the priest. The ceremony already started. She was clutching her hand into a fist, as the
