Audrey’s POV

“Nick…” I whispered softly, my eyes fixed on his car as it drove away. I felt rooted to where I stood. Earlier, I couldn’t say a word, not because I had nothing to say, but because I was drowning in mixed emotions. I was overjoyed by his confession… yet at the same time, I felt a piercing pain when he suddenly handed me over to Sage.
