WU
THE NIGHT OF THE MURDER
Like every bad decision i ever made, it all started in a bar-
The colors of street lights smeared from behind the blurring glass by the sides of the less eccentric bar closer to my house.
I turned around, stealing glances each time i heard the ding sound of the opening door-
It was as if i was reliving that night all over again, but this time, clearer.
Soon, after looking at the fast paced clock and then at the text that displayed on my phone
Wu: Can we talk? At the bar down the block-
-i decided to leave, finally letting it sink that all of this was a not a good idea.
But then, she walked in with her hands in her black leather jacket and her eyes behind a darker shade of her usual glasses,
-probably because she
JACQUELINEONE WEEK LATERJules helped by folding the ends of the box that was labeled with miscellaneous-"I'm officially moved in" I whispered to Emily with a wink, and she literally squealed in excitement."Where's your brother?" I asked and she gave an eye roll- "Probably down the block or somewhere" She shrugged her shoulders before walking off."Thanks" I said, turning to Jules."At least now i don't have to worry about rent and utilities-" I joked with a smile as i turned to the box."Ever since Harry, and you know, working shifts in a coffee shop ain't gonna pay my rent" I paused after she let out a shrill laughter."I'm sorry about, Wu" She said, hesitantly."Oh, it's not your fault-" I waved off with a scoff."I did testify about the
WUThe voices of each reporter, all overshadowed by the song in my head as i walked back into the van.Slowly, enough to hear the soft clangs of the metal handcuffs against my wrists and i turned away from the press and their suffocating questions. The security stretched his arms to push them back wards as i came down those steps before the hot flashes and the clicking of their cameras. And while the distinct attorney gave the overall press conference, the door was shut. The bangs. And the flashes. The clicking. The verdict. And those Goddamn voices in my-****"Fucking head" I gasped, jolting from my bed before i sighed at another consecutive nightmare. And i fell back into the bed, my hands into my face.TWO WEEKS LATER
AALIYAHYou could say death gives one a whole new perspective about life, never will i have agreed till i as there--hanging in the imbalance between life and death, swirling in an oblivion that held the truth. And there's just something about that, that changes you, that is if, you make it out.If you make it back. But the real truth is, you have to have tasted death to understand the true meaning of life.****TWO WEEKS EARLIERI shut my eyes, shaking frantically at the sound of the gunshot that managed to pierce right above me.He groaned, clutching his bleeding wound as he placed the gun to the table in anger before hitting me across my face with his feet."This was not how it was supposed to end" He muttered, blood spilling through my lips as i rolled.&nb
MARIAMy gaze buried deep into the swirling of the coffee i had in my hands and i could swear it reflected right in my pupils, perhaps that was what Marc looked at.He pulled away as the smell drifted past my nose with the heat and i smiled. The smell of sweet, fresh coffee. That was underrated and the sight of a sexy man in an apron too.I bit my lip as he stole a kiss, juggling the pan in his hands which held the pancakes before dishing them unto the plates. He glided his hips stiffly from each sides to the sound of a latin music as maybe a way to impress me.But he already did. And i wish I could tell him, there was no need, Marc. But God, i loved his moves. And his hair and his food.I loved him-And the hot coffee in my hands.
JACQUELINEFEW MONTHS BACK"Harry, come on-" I groaned, my arms in the air as i yawned, turning my face away from the camera."I'm terrible, I'm just waking up-" I rubbed around my eyes as he pulled away the covers, climbing on top of me with the camera in his hands."Which makes you more beautiful. Natural is beautiful" He said, placing soft kisses down my neck and i scoffed, pushing him to fall on the other side."I told you, i don't cheesy. They make me cringe" I said, without resisting the smile that crept to my lips.He shut the camera close before placing it unto the table and climbing back unto me."I need to get to work-" I mumbled before he shut me up with a kiss that slowly went down my torso."Oh-"****I peered from behind the fenc
AALIYAH"Ah-" I groaned as i struggled to sit, my legs swinging from the edge of the bed, after which i sighed."You don't need to stress yourself honey" My mother's hands dug into my messy curls as i stood."You still need some rest" She said, her hands trialing down my bony cheeks and across my neck."I can't stay here all da-" I was interrupted by a cough as i waved it off, making my way to the bathroom. For a moment, i stared at the back of my palms, with a scar from the intravenous and i looked to the mirror before brushing my hair to side with a sigh.I was so happy i didn't get to loose my hair but some times, i wondered if cancer was somewhat better-either way, there wasn't so much difference, with the timeline or the prognosis or the pills. And the regular hospital visi
WUTWO WEEKS LATERThere was something about he air, it was clearer and the pillows were softer and life, was soon, easier.I felt a palm clenched around mine as i slowly parted my eyes, to see Aaliyah, seated in a chair beside me."Hello-" She greeted before brushing my hair behind my ears and a smile crept to my lips as i turned.I t was always weird to see her without her hijab but that wasn't the only thing different, i looked around-and i was home."You sleep like a log-" She teased as i managed to regulate my thumping heart beat while i sat up."It's okay now. You're home now" She whispered."They have Albert in custody and he's confessed to all of it-" "Well, Paul first did it" Jacqueline added as she flashed a smile before w
WUI put up my grey hoodie that managed to shield a side of my face as i also pocketed my gloved hands.I took in a deep breath before crossing over the road and towards a fence with a metal gate from which was guarded by a black American with tattoos imprinted all over his face.He adjusted on sighting me, in a way that pushed forward his broadened muscled chest before he cleared his throat. I just stood there before he spoke."What do you want?" His words came masked in both this pungent cigarette smell and his thick African accent and then i snapped out of all the thinking."Hey. Wu" It took a while to realize how effeminate my voice compared to his and he looked around."I came alone. I need to see blackeye" I said before suddenly a piece of clothe enveloped my sight and then my face as I felt my legs being f
