CHAPTER TWENTY NINE 'a bit unique'

Alaric sighed, maybe she was wearing something else underneath so he let her.

But then his eyes widened when he saw that her boobs were showing through the undergarment right under her robe. He immediately leaned forward and started fastening the loose fabrics on her robe. Violet fought him of course, “Leave me alone!”

In the blink of an eye, she flew out of the window and went to sit on the rooftop. Alaric was in shock. What just happened?

He also jumped out through the window and looked at Violet who had removed her veil and she was unfastening her robe. It was evening so many people weren't paying attention but it was still concerning. Alaric jumped to the rooftop but Violet had disappeared. His heartbeat fastened, where the hell was she?

He felt arms around his neck but there was no person present.

Puzzled, he removed the hand around his neck and he heard a gasp and movement that was about to fall down the roof.

Just then, Violet seemed to appear out of thin air and she was falling down the roof.

Alaric let a sigh of relief and got down the roof first, easily catching her in his arms.

Violet held Alaric by the neck tightly as he gazed into her purple eyes. She smiled and leaned forward, pressing her lips against his nose. Then she bursted into laughter while Alaric just stood there, puzzzled.

“Your nose looks so funny.” She giggled.

Alaric snapped out of his puzzled state and placed Violet down on her feet, then he helped her put her robe properly around her while she laughed over how funny his nose looked.

“Very well then, let's go home.”

Violet eyes wandered, then fell into a daze.

“Wait here, I'll get your veil from the rooftop.” Alaric said and flew to the rooftop to get her veil but when he came back, she was gone.

His heartbeat fastened, as he looked around and couldn't find her.

What if she fell into the government officials hands?

He sighed. He should've never asked her to drink.

“Purple head!!” He tried, not knowing how to address her. He also didn't want to bring attention to himself. A sigh escaped his lips. At this point, he was helpless.

“Violet!” He called as he passed the midst of the townspeople.

“VIOLET!” He tried again, spreading out his aura to find her. Thankfully, he spotted her. She wasn't even hiding, she was in front of a palm tree, carving some letters into the palm tree with a sharp rock. Her robe were on the floor next to her and her hair ran over her back gracefully due to the wind.

Only when Alaric got closer did he see her scars.

There was almost no spot that were free from the scars. His eyes teared up, in this three years she had gone through a lot.

Violet turned to face Alaric, a grin on her face. “Come look quickly!”

He picked her robe before standing behind her, “What?” He asked with a flirty smile.

She pointed to the words she had carved in the tree and Alaric read it out, “Xenia is great?”

Violet nodded and he covered her back with her robe and embraced her. Had it been a long time Xenia was worshipped?

Judging from her expression, he was right.

Just then, she turned around in his arms and looked at him. She just stared, not doing anything else.

But then, she slowly lifted her fngers to his face. “You feel familiar.” She announced, then fell into his arms sound asleep.

A look of grief dawned on his face. Poison had once told him he was Phalan, the villian of Violet's life. If she recognized him as that..

His heart started racing. What if it was true?

He looked at Violet that was laying still in his arms and sighed, caressing her hair. He really hoped that was not true?

He carried Violet bridal style and was about to leave when he felt something reaching him. It was a message from either his clan people or business associates. A white bird started flying towards Alaric and he recognised it. It was from Kian.

The bird reached Alaric sight and Alaric strecthed a hand towards the bird and a small folded paper dropped on his palm. He unrolled the paper and read the contents.

It was only a line.

‘Come back soon.’

Alaric sighed and shook his head and the bird immediately started to fly back to where it came from. I'm sorry bro, I won't be able to go back untill I make things right.

“What did you do to my master?” Uak suspiciously said as Alaric entered the mansion with Violet in his arms.

He sighed and shook his head at Uak, “She had too much to drink. Even at that, do you think I'll be able to take advantage of a warrior master like her?”

Uak was instantly convinced. That made sense.

“Then I'll make some warmover soup for her when she wakes up.”

“Hmm. Just let her be for now.”

“What about the issue with the Saintess of Lagsu and her ugly husband?” Uak queried.

“It's been solved.”

“Huh? How?”

“The Saintess of Lagsu killed her husband.”

Uak furrowed her eyebrows, “That's is impossible. Musa doesn't have that kind of strength.”

“Let me put your master to sleep then I'll explain more to you.”

Uak nodded and followed Alaric up the stairs and into Violet's room. They placed Violet on her bed and Alaric turned to the door, “Your master mentioned before that she was hot, I'll have to bother you to remove her robe.”

Uak immediately turned to face Alaric who had his back facing the wide open door, “Y-you, don't tell me.. Violet tried to undress in public.”

Alaric eyes shifted and he grabbed the veil he'd been hiding in his clothes and tossed it Uak who flawlessly caught, “Since you already know.. Do me this favour.” He said and walked out the door, his cheeks flushing a bright pink as he remembered how Violet had kissed his nose. It made him uneasy but also.. happy.

But then, he remembered that she had said he was familiar. Could it be that he was her lifelong rivial, Baddley?

If so, he would be irredeemable.

He took in the scent of Violet's smell before it faded under his nose.

Even though a drunk Violet was hard to take care of, she was the most adorable in his eyes. But then.. he remembered that he'd embraced her in front of that tree. What if she became angry when she regained consciousness. His heart rate went up rapidly that he had to run down to the kitchen to fetch some water to calm himself.

“Mister,” Uak stormed into the kitchen, “Please tell me more about what happened outside.”

“Just call me Alaric. In the woods, Musa killed her husband after the girl she saved committed suicide.”

“What happened after that?”

“Your master was suddenly in the mood to eat so I accompsinrf her, then she had a bottle of wine. I didn't expect she'd get drunk so quickly. Then I—”

“—Wait,” Uak interupted, “She got drunk after a bottle of wine?”

“Yes.” Alaric affirmed.

Uak erupted into a thunderous laughter that she fell on the ground and laughed some more. “Master got drunk after only one bottle? I didn't expect her to be weak in this sort of things after all she's basically a vampire.”

Alaric cleared his throat, not quite liking the way Uak spoke of Violet.“Whatever.”

“What did she do after getting drunk?”

“Not much,” He said, “She said she was feeling hot, then she ran out through the window and to the rooftop.”

Uak did not hold back her chuckle. “It must've been hard on you.”

“By the way,” He said, “Help purple head do the tasks she wants you to do correctly. At least, give her a break tommorow.”

“Why? Did something happen?”

“Yes but you'll have to ask your master about it and she'll decide whether or not to tell you. I'll going to my room to retire now.” Alaric turned to leave and Uak held his wrist, preventing him from leaving.

“You are my master prisoner, why are you caring for her when you should hate her?”

Alaric removed his hand from Uak's and cleared his throat, “Why would I care for your master? I'm obviously doing all this so she'll be nicer to me untill she finish her tasks and decide to leave. You have no idea the kind of stress I went through to bring her back! I hope the alcohol would wear off by tht time she wakes up. After all, her body system is a bit unique.” With that, he stormed off and Uak cringed. Why was he so emotional all of a sudden.
