CHAPTER THIRTY THREE 'I'll find you, purple head'

When he woke up, he was in a nude state and Violet was no longer with him. He smiled as he relish the memory of their sexual activity.

He laughed as his cock hardened again at the thoughts of Violet. Even though they just had a night together, he still craved her and wanted to do nothing but see her again. He had no idea on what their conversation would be after the steamy night but he still wanted to see her and thank her because he had fun and he was sure she did too.

After all, they both came many times.

Alaric giggled in his mind as flashbacks of her loud moans filled his mind. She was just too sexy.

Alaric cleaned up and made a mess in the bathroom by jerking off to the distinct memory from the previous night. Everything she did to him was absolutely outstanding and beautiful. She was beautiful.

When his cock finally went back to normal, he bathed and got dressed in his most beautiful robe but as she was fastening his robe he noticed that there was something on his table. He walked towards it and scanned it with his energy before touching it. That was pure gold and it's worth was more than ten thousand coins. Did Violet send it to room?

It was probably her who did.

With that, he walked out of his room and headed to her room. Surprisingly, he didn't feel her energy lurking through the room and the entire passageway. Maybe she took too much last night and was really tired.

He creaked the door open, looking through a little crack. Surprisingly, she wasn't there and some of the things in the room were gone. He pushed the door open and check the closet, most of her clothes were gone as well.

His heart trembled and he suddenly felt weak. Where the hell was she?

She promised not to leave as the bureau of justice investigate the murder of the man she killed but now she was gone? What task was she going to do now that she had to leave without telling him. He clenched his fists as his mind reminded him of how powerful she was and capable of taking care of herself.

She should have at least said something, write him a letter. How could she just drop raw gold and leave, it didn't make sense.

His mind wandered, Did she leave because of the sex? That couldn't be.. She was the one that wanted it the most, she was the one who seduced him and everything. How could she possibly not want it?

His heart tightened in his chest and he felt really uneasy. What if she left him for good? What if she was never coming back?

All these thoughts were beginning to drive him insane.

She didn't take all her things so she was probably going to come back.

He prepared breakfast and waited out the door, waiting for Violet's arrival but she didn't come back and it nearly gave Alaric a panic attack. It was already evening but she wasn't back, maybe she would stay there the night. Of course, why else would she take some clothes.

The next day came, Alaric couldn't take the heat anyone so he ventured out to look for her.

***

When the next day came, Violet already had an idea on how to start her day. She traveled to the rural part of Lagsu and looked around the shops. Eventually, she entered a tailor shop and was instantly greeted by a young woman who had a smile graced on her lips.

“Good day, Madam, how may I help you?”

Violet looked around the shop, pleased to see that they were all women.

“I'm here to find a job, also, don't call me Madam I'm not much older than you.” She said.

“Sorry lady, we're not looking for new workers right now.”

“That's okay,” Said Violet, “What I'm really after is experience anyway.”

“Let me fetch my mother.” The young lady said and went to the corner where another room was introduced.

Violet sighed and looked around the shop, watching the woman work with their hands to sew beautiful garments. She smiled at how diligent they looked towards their work. In Thestryn, the women didn't pay close attention to their clothing. That must be because they didn't wear the same cotton quality as those of Lagsu women.

Violet looked at the garments the women were sewing, it didn't look ordinary. It looked like it was made for an influential person in the government but she didn't know any woman with influence within the government apart from Musa.

An older woman appeared with her young daughter from the corner of the soon. Upon seeing her, the older woman stared down at her feet, intimidate by the grace in Violet's pose.

“My daughter said you want to work here for free, is that true?” The woman asked gruffly.

“Yes Madam,” Violet said, “I.. intend to work here to learn from your teachings.“

“Really? Sounds to me as though you're a fraud who just want to gather information about my shop and sell it to someone else.”

Violet did not react, “I did not lie. In truth, I come here to learn how to sew so I could give it as an offering to the god I worship.”

In the world, worshipping gods was not a new thing.

“Really? I worship hera, the goddess of women, marriage, and childbirth. Which god do you worship?”

Hera was indeed impressive but not as good as her.

“I worship Xenia, the god of justice, freedom and equality between men.”

The woman rolled her eyes, “Are you from Mount Sinah? I heard that the people there worshipped Xenia. I guess that is true.”

“Madam I'll tell you a secret,” Violet whispered near the older woman's ear, “I was exploited by my lover. One day when I couldn't bear it, I prayed for his demise and the next day, I heard need that he was beheaded.”

The older woman gasped, then looked at her daughter and faked a smile, “Go back to your work, I'll talk to the newbie.”

The younger girl grinned, her eyes shinning with excitement, “So you accept that she works here?!”

“Go back to your work, we'll talk about that later, Emily.”

Violet smiled, wondering why the girl was so enthusiastic that she was going to be hired— If luck permitted her, of course.

The older lady dragged Violet passed the corner and the room in front, leading to a open garden. Across of it were more offices and storage rooms Violet could imagine would exist behind the smaller door.

“Are you sure about what you've just said? You're the lover of the man that was killed two days ago?”

Violet decided to go with that script for now. “I was. After he died, I feel so much relief that I had to come here to learn how to sew so I can make the most beautiful dress and give it to Xenia as offering.”

The woman eyes widened, “Aren't you scared of the law?”

“Of course not, I didn't kill him so why should I be worried? The justice bureau never does anything against men because they are stronger and we are weaker so they take advantage of us and treat us lesser. Any woman that speaks will have her dignity stripped off of her in public while the men celebrate this treatment and think of it as entertainment. I couldn't do anything so I prayed to Xenia and she killed him. I don't care what methods or coincidences to make that happen, I'm free now and that's what truly matters to me.”

The older woman gasped, “H-how did you pray to her?”

“With clarity and raw emotions. She answers urgent prayers the most especially those that involves death. But be careful, she answers only two prayers from the same person.”

Violet had read the woman's mind before spilling this kind of information.

Her daughter was bethroned to a sixty five year old man to get rid of her husband's debt. Next week was the wedding and the older woman was reluctant to let her daughter go and suffer.

She was seriously considering Violet's words.

If she could get rid of the old man before the marriage then that would be great news.

She was desperate and would take any opportunity, she had nothing to lose anyway.

“You can stay here for as long as you want. I'll give you a room.”

That was the woman's way of keeping Violet untill she got what she wanted.

Violet took the bait, “Sure but I've already promised myself that I would stay here for a week so you don't have to worry about me overspending my visit, Madam.”

“Call me Calista. That's what the girls call me. And how can you learn everything there is to know about making clothes in just a week?”

“Don't worth about it. I'm a fast learner.”

“We'll see.”

Calista showed Violet her new room and told her she could get some rest. The room was way smaller than the premium room she booked at Rose inn but at least the bed was comfy.

*** The next day

To Alaric, it seemed as though every trace of Violet disappeared with nothing left. He searched for four more days and there was nothing. He could only relive the memories they had together in his mind.

It made him feel like a toy. Did Violet just use him and dump him? He was a virgin! Hoe could she not take responsibility?! It pissed him off but he at least had to find her first if he was going to vent. Only then would he feel relief. The justice were putting in a lot of effort to find the murderer of the beheaded victim and they haven't even stopped investigating Violet. It made him really worried.

It was his fault. He should've used a barrier or something to prevent her from leaving.

He knew Violet enough. She could've changed her Identity.

It finally clicked for Alaric. All this time, he'd been looking for Violet with purple hair while she could've disguised in another form to fit into Lagsu fucked up society.

He lifted his head, finding new hope.

I'll find you, purple head.
