It was nearly 7 p.m. when Tessa arrived home from work. The day had been long and exhausting, and all she wanted was a moment of peace and the solemn magic of a good sleep.

As she stepped through the front door, she found Don Pedro in the bedroom, dressed in a suit and standing before the large mirror.

His face held no expression whatsoever, he was busy adjusting his tie and then styling his hair seconds later.

Pedro turned almost as soon as he noticed her enter. “You didn’t get my message to leave work early, did you?” he asked, his voice rumbled gently as he continued to scrutinize his reflection on the mirror.

It was in that moment, Tessa remembered the underground wrestling match.

Tessa paused, setting down her bag and taking a slow, gauged breath. “I got the message from your driver,” she replied evenly “I lost track of time – I was with Camila and Jamie. We were discussing… work and stuff.”

Pedro’s eyes narrowed slightly. “That’s no excuse. You should have left when I asked yo

  • RELUCTANT BRIDE FOR THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE   In Due Time

AUTHORS POVThe drive back was quieter. The children leaned against each other in the backseat, full of stories and sugar, their energy mellowed by the sun and adventure. But Dean was smart enough to know he had done something wrong and so he apologized, “I’m sorry Aunt Clarissa”“For what exactly|” she asked as she dove.“For running off and bumping into a stranger, but I promise you I did not speak to him like mum had instructed that I shouldn’t speak to strangers” He said pitifully.“Please forgive him mummy” Sofia cooed from where she sat.“Not only should you not speak to strangers, you could have hurt yourself” Clarissa said with worry written all over her voice.“I am sorry” Dean said, holding his ears in a playful manner. His cuteness got to Clarissa and she acknowledged she had forgiven him.Dean yawned. “Can we do this again tomorrow?”“Maybe,” Clarissa said. “If your mum doesn’t have a mountain of business meetings.”“I’ll convince her,” Dean mumbled sleepily.Sofia smiled.

AUTHORS POV“Where to now?” Dean asked, licking his fingers.“Macroplaza,” she said. “The big square. You’ll see the lighthouse, statues, gardens. And there’s an ice cream truck there for second dessert.”“Best day ever,” Sofia whispered, already standing up.The Macroplaza was a wide, open stretch of beautiful landscaping and walkways. It was surrounded by important buildings—government halls, cultural centres, theatres. The children darted ahead, playing a game of pretend spies, ducking behind benches and statues.“That’s the Faro del Comercio,” Clarissa said, pointing to a tall red tower. “It lights up at night, shooting a green laser across the sky.”Dean’s eyes widened. “Really?”“Yes. They say if you make a wish while it’s glowing, it might come true.”Dean stared up, serious for a moment. “I think I’ll wait and wish when Mum’s here.”Clarissa softened. “That’s a good idea.”They walked slowly through the gardens, pausing at fountains and flower beds. The city felt alive around

AUTHORS POVThey sat quietly for a moment, watching ducks glide across the surface of the lake. Clarissa came and handed them bottles of water and sunhats, adjusting Sofia’s visor with a mother’s touch.“You two are like lightning today,” she said. “Hungry yet?”“Starving,” Dean said.“Same,” Sofia agreed. They headed toward the park’s café, where the smell of grilled cheese, paninis, and fresh fruit drinks hung in the air. Clarissa ordered sandwiches and fruit cups, and the three of them sat outside under a yellow umbrella, eating as the city pulsed gently around them.“Mum would love this,” Dean said between bites.“She’s probably in her meeting right now,” Clarissa replied.Dean gave a small sigh. “I wish she could come.”“She will, someday,” Clarissa said. “But today is yours, and you’ve got me.”“And me,” Sofia added, slurping her watermelon juice.Dean grinned. “I guess that’s not too bad.”After lunch, they made their way to the Museum of Mexican History. The building stood tal

  • RELUCTANT BRIDE FOR THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE   Finding Tessa.

AUTHORS POV“Franco,” Pedro said, his voice clipped to bare minimum. “I just got pushed out of GenMark like I was a scumbag. I want answers.”“Anything, boss,” Franco replied instantly.“First,” Pedro said, his fingers tightening around the phone. “Are Tessa’s records still missing? Check if they have come back online.”Franco paused, a faint click in the line. “Yes, sir. Every digital and physical file has been scrubbed. She doesn’t exist on any official database.”Pedro’s lips twisted in a vicious grin. “Hmm. Interesting. Good. Keep it that way.”“Understood,” Franco said.Pedro inhaled and pressed on. “Secondly—I want everything you can find on Clara Moretti.”Franco’s voice was crisp. “Clara Moretti—she is a new name making waves in the business world, yes?”“Exactly, You have seen her?” Pedro snapped.“Not at all, only heard of her in passing, pedro sir” he responded.“I need her background: finances, associates, past employments, any skeletons in her closet. I want the dossier o

  • RELUCTANT BRIDE FOR THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE   Perpetual Shame

AUTHORS POVPedro did not know if it was anger seething through him or perpetual shame or embarrassment or perhaps the shock of seeing Tessa, But he sure knew that the afternoon sun had become even harsher with the embarrassment, he hated the way it glinted off GenMark’s mirrored façade as he strode up to the revolving doors of the foreign investment giant with security men escorting him out like a cheap prostitute. When he came, he had come to close a deal worth millions—his ambition, his empire, all at stake but being escorted out like a battered street dog was unnerving.Mental pictures of the PowerPoint slides and smiles quickly soured in his memory, if only he knew this would happen, he would not have entered the conference room. This was a planned move to embarrass him, he thought to himself. The GenMark executives exchanged polite nods like they were not planning to put him against his wife, then sheer rudeness of one of their security officers—a broad-shouldered man in a dark

  • RELUCTANT BRIDE FOR THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE   Misidentity

AUTHORS POVIt was like a dream.A very weird dream, because how is the woman standing in front of him not his wife Tessa? What the hell did she mean that she was not Tessa? He took another step forward. “I thought you were my wife , Tessa, you disappeared. I thought you were dead.”“Oh I'm sorry about your wife being late, I normally get into a lot of situations like this but I can assure you...” Her voice was icy. “ I dont know you or have ever met you, I acknowledge I may have shared a stark resemblance with your wife for you to react this way good sir, but I am nothing like your wife, I am not her, now leave me to get going my way.”Pedro looked around at the executives now watching him. “Can we talk? Please, just you and me—outside.”Tessa let out a short, humourless laugh. “You are joking right? Mr whatever you call yourself you dont seem to get that you are harrassing me and making me uncomfortable ”“I didn’t mean for it to happen like that—Tessa, I was wrong. I was stupid. I—
