IRIS

The happiness on my face disappeared when I noticed my stepfather standing at the door with a whip. I gulped hard as I approached him. I knew the whip was for me but what I didn't know was my offense.

"Good afternoon, sir." I greeted him and made to walk past him but the glare on his face was enough to make me rethink that action.

I wondered what Lyra had said this time to make him look that angry.

"What's your mission, Iris? Haven't you taken enough from me and now, you want to take from my daughter?" He said through gritted teeth and fire-blazing eyes.

What was he talking about?

"I'm sorry, sir." Trying to ask questions would only make things worse, I learned this the hard way over the years. I bowed my head, my eyes meeting the ground. I dared not look into his face. The next thing I felt was a lash on my arms. I instinctively moved away from him, holding my arm.

"Now, Iris, let me give you a warning. Stay away from Alpha Fenrir. He belongs to my daughter. A lowlife like you should never be seen speaking with him, understood?"

"Yes, sir," I replied quickly to ease his pride. I heard some kids laughing from a distance. Even if my stepfather was killing me, none of them would intervene. I sometimes wonder how people could be so inhumane to their fellow kind. I went straight to Lyra's room and picked her clothes, washed and sundried them before proceeding to clean the house. I made dinner and had mine only after they had finished eating.

I planned on making them pay badly for all the harsh treatment they've been showing me. When I become Luna, I will make sure they and their generation suffer for eternity.

When I was done with my night chores, I decided to hit my room, and see if I could read a little before being overwhelmed by sleep. On my way to my room, I met Lyra standing in the hallway, obviously waiting for me. I wanted to ignore her drama but that became impossible when she stood in my way. I rolled my eyes and let her spill the rubbish she had in her mouth.

"So, you and Fenrir are getting close." She frowned. "That's my mate. Stay away from him." She warned. I kept mute and let her rant about how she'd become the luna of the pack when he finally discovers her as his mate. I only loathed within because I knew how disappointed and broken she'd be in the end.

After she was done, she gave another warning and she used her father to threaten me. I hated her for the single fact. She knew her father had the upper hand against me and would always report to him, even when I was innocent.

I went to my room and once I plopped unto my bed, tears began to stroll freely down my cheeks.

"Mom, dad, I hope you're watching." I sobbed. "I hope you're seeing how they treating the daughter you waited ten years to have."

Countless times have I attempted suicide but my mate bond to Fenrir was the barrier. And now that he finally spoke to me, I couldn't even think twice about joining my parents wherever they are. I was so much in love with him that I was ready to go through hell just to be with him.

That was what gave me the courage and the will to live every day. And tomorrow, I would see him again.

I looked at my palm. Damn Lyra's clothes. If only those demons would let me use the washing machine, I never would have let water touch this hand.

*****

I stayed up half the night reading one of my favorite fantasy novels. Even though I had read it more than ten times, I still couldn't get enough of it.

I was having a chill time, discussing with Fenrir about books when suddenly, someone splashed water all over my face. I jerked up from my sleep only to realize the talk with Fenrir was a dream but the water wasn't. Lyra was standing beside my bed with a bucket.

"What's your problem?" I asked, standing up from the wet small bed.

"What? Are you going to hit me?" She asked in a daring manner. I wanted nothing but to pounce on her and rip apart her gorgeous hair. But instead, I clenched my fist and stared daggers at her.

"Come down and prepare breakfast, I don't want to be late for school." She laughed victoriously and left my room. I just let it go and took mattresses outside. After that, I fixed breakfast and cleaned the 'queen's' room.

My stepfather didn't ease my pain that morning. He made sure to send me on different errands till I was late for school. It was one of those days I wished Fenrir would just turn eighteen immediately and claim me as his mate. Living with these two was as good as living in hell. They both treated me like dirt, as though I was bought from the slave market, and their hatred extended to the entire pack.

*******

The long-awaited party had arrived. It was the talk of the town; everybody spoke about the prince and his destined mate, Lyra. The announcement would be made official today. And as tradition, all the young ladies of the pack who didn't have mates were to present gifts to him so as to make the search easier. He didn't want that but that was the custom.

I was happy. My time to shine was finally there and I wouldn't let the opportunity go to waste. I was preparing to go to the party, just like everyone else.

I twirled in the hot pink gown that my mom made especially for me on my seventeenth birthday. Sure it was short, but it was the best cloth I had. My makeup was simple; a applied some brown powder to my face and some lipgloss. I packed my hair in a messy bun and I put on my sandals.

I looked like a princess.

I had already prepared my gifts which I would hand over to him and I was getting one last glance at my reflection when Lyra and her father entered my room.

I was shocked when I first saw them. They smelt of trouble; I wondered what they wanted to do.

"Better remove those clothes because you're not going anywhere," Lyra spoke, making my head spin.

"What?"

FINAL EPISODE IRIS I woke up to the sound of glass shattering. I sat up immediately and looked at the accident that had happened. "Sorry, it slipped," Anya said with pleading eyes. She immediately picked up a broom and swept the dangerous, pointy materials away into the trash can. "What are you doing here anyway?" I asked her after she had finished cleaning. "I came to check up on you. I wanted to see how you were doing. My brother told me you were in the hospital. And also, Jason was worried about you. He's in detention tho. He'll swing by later in the evening." She explained after taking a seat."So, how are you feeling?" "Better, I guess." I laid back on the bed and tucked myself in. "Strong enough to leave this place this instant. I really hate the smell of hospitals." Anya giggled. "Who doesn't? Well, except for the doctors and nurses. Nobody likes to be sick and get confined in a pace that reeks of antiseptics." "Yeah, you totally get it." I sighed. "Actually, I'm her

WARNING: QUITE A STEAMY CHAPTER AHEAD. RATED 18+. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! IRIS My hands rummaged through his lower abdomen as I kissed him. He deepened the kiss and left me breathless at some point. Our foreheads met as we tried to catch our breath. "Iris, I better leave," He whispered. "Why?" I whispered breathlessly. Things were just getting started and he wanted to leave me like that. "You just woke up and must be feeling tired. I am myself right now." He shut his eyes and tried to walk away but I stopped him. "What? Are you scared you'll hurt me? But I'm fine." "Iris…" He called out impatiently. "I said I'm fine!" I yelled. My grip on him was strong. I wasn't ready to let go. I was frustrated. Wasn't he getting my point? "I'm sorry for yelling like that. I just—" Before I could finish my statement, Finn shut me up with yet another deep kiss. I was caught unaware and it was hard to keep up with him. "You have no idea how long I've waited for this." He pulled down his pan

IRIS Finn and I walked down to the nearest cafe. We decided to stay outside because of the scorching sun. After making sure I was seated, he went to the lemonade stand. I was left with my thoughts. I had witnessed everything that had happened but I was unconscious and scared. Though I saw Finn, Damon, and Anya fighting, I couldn't reach out to them. I thought I'd never wake up but after some days, I was able to get up on my feet. That was when I met Finn talking to the lady. She seemed pretty nice to have brought him cakes. I wished I had a taste of it. "Here," Finna announced, breaking me from my thoughts. "Thank you," I smiled and took the glass from him. He sat down while I sipped the juice. Finn was the only person on my mind when I woke up. I was supposed to be mad at him for what had happened between him and Zaria but I wasn't. "How are you feeling?" He asked. "I'm fine, I think so. I don't feel any pain in my head or any part of my body. I think I'm okay." I shrugged. H

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hello, everyone. Thank you very much for reading this far into the story. We've entered the second half of the story and a whole new turn is about to take place. I will be introducing one or two new POVs. So hold onto your seat belts as we go on another journey entirely.**********VIOLET After the big battle, the pack members under the command of the alpha, started repairing the damaged parts of the town. It was nice seeing him so dedicated to his people and trying to help out in any way he can. My heart fluttered when he summoned my mother and I. He hardly does that himself and it was always his beta or gamma that always came to us. He was hardly seen around us but I got the opportunity to stand close to him that night. He even said he was expecting great things from us. He said his life was dependent on how long we covered the full moon. I felt it was such an honor. Today, I had gone with a gift to thank him for his hard work. I baked some muffins and cupcakes. T

  • Vampire Alpha's Mate    Chapter~57

FINN Finding my grandfather wasn't a big deal. My father and I had visited him since I was very young. I think I was seven years old when we went to him but I could remember how to get into his kingdom from start to finish. With the anger in me, I found my way to the cliff. I looked down and saw the rapidly moving water. Any random stranger would definitely not be able to get in because they didn't know what was down there. You could only get in when you think about a Golden Gate guarded by black demons. The water had a way of reading someone's mind. That was the power of black magic and that was why it was banned from coming into the world. It was dangerous and could serve as a tool for world domination. And it was what my grandfather had used to live for many years now. I made sure that I wasn't followed by anyone before jumping off the cliff with the gate in my mind. I held my breath as the water carried me. Soon, I arrived at the place. My clothes and my skin were dry. Such ev

  • Vampire Alpha's Mate    Chapter~56

FINN He was moving and fast. I wasn't expecting it. He was always two steps ahead and I never get to know what was in his head. That old man's mind was so twisted. The more reason he shouldn't be allowed to live longer. The problem was, how was I supposed to protect Iris while fighting off the bad guys? "How many guards are outside?" I asked him. "About six or seven." He replied. "Good. Get them in here now." I commanded. I looked at Iris in pity. Her body was going to tell on her when she wakes up. She had forcefully freed herself from the rope. That action made marks visible on her wrists. I knew it was going to hurt a lot and that was I why I wouldn't let her go through any pain again. Damon arrived with the guards. "Watch her," I said to them. "Guard her with your lives. If she gets out, it will be over for all of us." I briefed them before running out with Damon. Getting to the middle of the city, we could see that Hendrickson had already started causing severe damage and
