I can’t decide if it was a good thing or a bad thing to have Belle in the room at such a time.  She was an old fey of fairy lineage who possessed absolutely no filter when it came to speaking her mind.

“Finally… the truth comes out!” Belle exclaimed with pleasure.

“Hush!” Gwendoline snapped.

“What is going on mother?” Geo asked. 

I’d never heard him call Gwendoline mother when he addressed her.  I later learned he reverted to using the term only when he was under some type of duress or was feeling emotional.

“Something’s wrong,” Gwendoline gasped as she looked at Geo and Luthias.  “What’s happening?”

“We captured a few of Bartholomew’s scouts near the tunnel surface,” Luthias said, anxiously.
