Chapter 2: Cruel coercion

Because he was so enraged, he may have cracked a smile.

“You are such a cold woman. Your daughter is by your side, but you don't show any emotion to her. You even glared at her. People like you don't deserve to be human at all."

Laughing, Kyra slightly raised her head and opened her eyes to see Lucas looking back at her. Kyra's best mental comfort drug is anger and helplessness Lucas. Even though she was hurting, seeing Lucas' helpless expression made her feel a lot better.

The trembling little girl next to her didn't matter to Kyra, who was entirely preoccupied with Lucas.

"So what? Don't you expect that when I give birth to that child I will submit to you completely? That's ridiculous indeed. That child has nothing to do with me, I have no feelings for him at all. Lucas, that child is just your child, but to me, he is nothing more than a dog."

Miren's eyes widened, painful to hear these words come out of her mother's mouth. Her tender heart was breaking into pieces. Her only relative is vehemently denying a relationship with her, even saying that she has never truly loved her before. Even though Miren knew her mother was trying to protect her from her cruel father, these hurtful words that came out of her mother's mouth made Miren's heart clench.

Lucas gave a sly smile. He threw a hard kick at Miren's body with his raised leg. Miren's frail, thin body was once again kicked away, her still aching back was slammed hard against the wall of the dilapidated cupboard. Miren's small face wrinkled in pain, and a long streak of blood appeared at the corner of her lips.

Kyra wasn't surprised at all when she saw Lucas' expression. In the direction Miren was falling, she squinted her eyes and laughed heartlessly.

"That's hilarious. How can you die if you hit like that? You must strike hard, kick hard, and use your entire strength to strike. Since beating it to death today is also liberation for him, this is a very fortunate day for her. And if you don't beat it to death, you will eventually raise a dumb daughter. Because I have passed away, I no longer have to worry about this."

Lucas couldn't believe Kyra could say that words. He was still thinking that Kyra would protect Miren because Miren is her daughter. Things gradually deviated from Lucas's original calculation, which made him unable to control himself and express his anger extremely clearly.

"Damn it, I misread you."

Kyra's breathing became increasingly labored, and she coughed up blood, which spilled to the ground. Her body now had no strength left to fight or run away, the little remaining strength was also being saved to tease Lucas.

“Are you looking at me wrong? What I thought you were going to say, turned out to be such a stupid thing.”

Lucas narrowed his eyes, dangerously looking at Kyra.

“What do you mean?”

Kyra kept going despite a few more coughs.

“You are not looking at the wrong person, but in the first place, you did not have an eye for the person. You give yourself illusions about the future of our relationship. So pitiful that there are no more words to say. Stupid people like you, it's better to die together with that hateful child."

One sound. Kyra's body was lifted in the air by Lucas with one hand and slammed into the wall behind him. He gritted his teeth, so angry that he could see the glints of blood gushing out of his sharp eyes.

"Shut up, you're about to die, and you're still saying some teasing things."

A strong wind from the outside slammed into the large door, splintering it in two and causing it to fly open. Lucas was thrown to the floor by the immense power of a mysterious force that appeared in the room out of nowhere. That person hugged Kyra's charred body, and he also hugged Miren.

The stranger's attack on Lucas was so strong that he was unable to defend himself. It was so strong that it caused blood to flow from the inside of his mouth to the outside. He stood up, seeing Kyra and Miren in the stranger's lap, was extremely indignant, gritting his teeth and threatening the opponent.

“Quickly let go of the two people in your arms. Those two are not people you can touch."

That mysterious man was wearing a jet-black mask, and on his body was a very large cloak that covered his entire body inside. But the noble and dangerous aura he exuded made anyone wary, and Lucas was no exception.

“These two are not yours, shut your mouth and live a decent life.”

How could Lucas let a stranger suddenly jump out like that? He was just about to get up when he was hit by a strong wind, this time several times stronger than the first time. Her throat felt like it was being squeezed by an aggressive hand, forcing her to not be able to breathe out. Lucas waved his hand, trying to break free from the mystic's grip.

While using his strength to propel himself forward at an incredible rate, his nails suddenly lengthened to form razor-sharp points that could slice through someone's neck.

The mystic, on the other hand, was unaffected by Lucas' attack and managed to elude him. Using his left foot to steady himself and his right leg to kick Lucas, the man leaned in slightly and kicked Lucas's leg straight backward. Lucas' leg bones were shattered in an instant by the kick's force, and his pitiful cry was accompanied by the sound of shattered bones.

Lucas sat down, sweat pouring from his forehead like a shower. The aura of the mystic standing in front of him was truly overwhelming, it was so terrible that it reminded him of someone he hadn't seen for a long time. Lucas's body trembled violently, his mouth wanted to scold the person who just appeared a few words, who would have thought that the words that hadn't come out of his mouth would have been beaten a few more times by the mysterious person.

The mystic's power was so great that blood spurted from Lucas's mouth as he lay on the. Even though his injuries were not life-threatening, Lucas couldn't help but feel that his self-respect was being shattered.

But Lucas also knew that the gap between the two of them was huge. Now, if you deliberately fight, the one who suffers is Lucas, not the other mysterious person. Moreover, Kyra now has no chance of survival anymore, very soon Kyra's life will disappear. As for the other child, he can't talk, so there's no need to worry.

Not daring to make an unusual noise, Lucas knelt on the icy floor. He sat there motionless, transforming himself into something that didn't exist in the air.

Because the other mystic didn't want to kill Lucas, he took Kyra and Miren away when he saw Lucas's bowing attitude.

It's a gloomy night. In the darkness of night, there was not a single moon or star in the sky. The occasional chirping of birds and the rustling of frogs and insects in the dense bushes were the only sounds to be heard.

With her back to an enormous tree, the mystic placed Miren at the foot of a large stone.

The mystic didn't say a word the entire time.

Several coughs were heard as Kyra was placed on the ground by the mystic. She weakly leaned her back against the trunk of a large tree. Purple eyes are gradually losing their inherent sparkle, beginning to be covered by darkness and gloom. She looked over to the mystic, trying to use her last breath to thank him for his help.

Kyra smiled softly, weakly speaking.

“Thank you very much for your help, Dylan. I didn't think you'd show up."

Dylan knelt and sat down next to Kyra on the ground. Slowly, he peeled off the mask that had covered his face.

His face is like a work of art sculpted by the best artists in the world. It's impossible to find fault with anything about his face. The jawline is clear, the bridge of the nose is high and straight, and the silver lips are pursed. His hair is black as the color of the night, soft strands of hair are winding with the wind. The eyes are cold and sharp, and the corners of the eyes are slightly slanted, looking a lot like the eyes of a fox. The pupils of the eyes were red, brilliant, and beautiful like two ruby stones. His skin was very white, as white as if it wanted to glow in the dark.

Dylan sighed, looking at Kyra, who was burned by Lucas, weakly holding on to a bit of life, but it hurt. His hands clenched slightly, and his voice carried a hint of guilt.

“I should have come earlier. If I could have come sooner, you wouldn't have suffered so much."

Kyra shook her head.

“Mr. Dylan should never say that, your presence here has been a blessing to me and my daughter. I dare not ask for much in my own life. For me, death is the best release. But…"

Kyra suddenly stopped, turning her head to look at Miren, who was trembling. Kyra's eyes suddenly dropped a few tears, she heartbrokenly called Miren.

"Daughter, come over here."

Miren obediently slid down the large rock, ran towards her mother, and swooped into her lap.
