26: Midnight guest

COLD.

I could only feel coolness as I walked toward the body on the edge of the forest. The same forest where Jeremy had almost tried to kill me. The same forest which Haydon and I snuck through every Friday to fight at the arena. But this time the air here was cold and tense. Goosebumps started to form on my icy, dry skin. My feet were sore and bare and bleeding from the small stones and dry sand on the ground.

The body that was there was unmoving, and I couldn't make out who it was because of the darkness surrounding me. I don't know what it was, but I was being drawn to that lonely body on the ground.
