The time was already past eight when Audrey slowly opened her eyes and yawned a little, she could still feel the headache throbbing. The pills from the night before didn’t help much but before she could even climb out of bed, memories of what happened earlier became fresh in her mind and she shivered down to her spine. It was already past six when Audrey finally came back from her training and Nathan was waiting for her in the garden while a hotpot was simmering on the table in front of him, by his side Bunny was standing and he was the one looking over the hotpot.The minute she climbed out of the car, her phone beeped with a message and her lips curled into a smile when she saw who it was from.“Let’s have hotpot in the garden”This was a necessity for her and Vanessa, they both loved hotpot even if it was an Asian delicacy. While Audrey preferred veggies to non vegetarian dishes, Vanessa was the direct opposite. She loved her meat but they both enjoyed a well cooked hotpot. I am still the Vanessa you know and nothing has changed. We only lost our memories and nothing much, you can’t keep thinking about that okay?”“So are you saying I don’t need to know anything about you again?”“Whatever you want me to do, I will do it okay? Just don’t stress about it”“Hmmmm '' Nathan nodded but he didn’t say anything, not like he did not understand what she was trying to say but he was finding it hard. Audrey slowly opened her eyes and her forehead creased into a frown when she realized that a strong hand was snaked around her waist. For a moment she didn’t realize who it was until his voice filtered into her ears and her lips curled into a smile.Memories of what happened earlier became fresh in her memory and she couldn’t stop the smile from widening.Finally she was able to hold him on a tight leash after singing that song for him and now she believed that Nathan was no longer suspicious of her or Jakes. Nathan was seated casually in the living room when his mum and Audrey walked up to him all dressed up and for the first time, he had a sad look on his face and the two women understood why he looked like that. The Hernandez mansion stood impeccably tall as the taxi came to a halt in front of its huge gates and Audrey couldn’t help but marvel at the sight in front of her. She has spent almost all her life in this country but has not seen a house as magnificent as this mansion. It had a penthouse way up and the golden lights surrounding everywhere gave it a royal ambiance.
