Rosa's Pov.

I knew I needed to muster all the self-courage in me, and I did. I actually had a conversation with Gary, without letting anything out, and now he has invited me to his suite.

That wasn't the thing that bothered me, though; I was more concerned with the fact that he was Lucas Beaumont's son, Andres's brother.

The thought had come before, but I dismissed it, saying it wasn't possible, but now it all made sense.

But if Andres was the first son, isn't he supposed to be the CEO?

Why does it seem as if Gary has the chance?

Also, they don't seem like folks who would get along pretty well.

“I saved your ass, better be ready to repay me, tattletale,” Gary snapped, and Morgan nodded quietly as he left.

“I told you something like this would happen,” Brian finally said, and Denzel rolled his eyes.

“No, you didn't,” He said, and Brian glared at him.

“They fought again, and it was all my fault,” Morgan sniffled, and I tapped her back.

“Don't blame yourself,” I muttered, and she nodded, wiping the tiny tears trickling out of the corner of her eyelids.

She sure is a baby.

“So, now that that's over with, who is up for some poker?” Denzel asked.

“Poker is a boy's game,” Morgan answered with a small frown, and Brian shrugged.

“Girls can play it also,” he said, and she scoffed.

“Yeah, right, that is like saying girls can play football,” She mumbled, and Brian facepalmed.

“Girls can play football,” he told her, and she rolled her eyes.

“Yeah, the manly kind of girls, fragile girls like me can't handle a ball!” She snapped, and Denzel sneered.

“Now who is playing the gender card?”

I watched them bicker at each other, my mind traveling far.

Gary had invited me to his office, and as disgusting as it seemed, I needed to go in order to carry on the second phase of the plan.

“Why is your mind far off, Rosaura?” Morgan asked, and before I could reply, Brian did that for me.

“She's prolly thinking of how to approach boss Gary in his office,” he said, and He and Denzel chuckled quietly while Morgan glared.

“That's not funny,” she mumbled, and Denzel shrugged.

“Maybe not to you, but you know Brian is right,” He said, and Morgan ignored him, facing me.

“If it's possible, don't go,” She said, and I blinked.

“Why? He seems like a nice guy, plus, he saved you,” I told her, trying so hard not to vomit as I said those words.

“He probably did that to blackmail me; he's not a good person, Rosaura, trust me.” The innocence in her eyes made me smile.

“I'll be careful, but you know refusing a boss can land me in big trouble, right?” I asked her, and she sighed.

“You're right, be careful, and ready to run out in case of anything, Gary isn't the type to lay off just because you're a girl,” She advised, and I nodded with a smile.

“What are you both whispering about?” Brian asked, and Morgan faced him with a sneer.

“None of your business,” She snapped, and he recoiled, mumbling inaudible words.

When we finished our food, Morgan said, “Now that we have gone around the company, I think it's time to show you your office. We headed straight for my office, and I was surprised to find it beside Andres' own.

Is this a coincidence or…?

“Is this my office?” I asked her again, and she nodded.

“Yeah, it is,” she answered, setting up the laptop for me.

“I thought I'd stay with you or the rest of the senior agents,” I said with a frown, and she shrugged.

“I was hoping that too, but I guess Boss Andres wants you near,” she said as if it was so natural, and I scowled, resisting the urge to vomit for the second time today.

She left afterwards, and I sat, taking in all the air while staring at the laptop. Soon, the door opened, and Jefferson walked in.

“Can't you knock?” I asked, irritated, who walks in on a lady unannounced?

“There is so much paperwork for you to fill in. Finish it early, I'm submitting it to Mr Andres for clearance today,” he said, ignoring my question, and he dropped the files in front of me.

He walked out, and I rolled my eyes, staring at the files.

All was data work, and it seemed easy enough, so I began working on it.

My phone started ringing, I saw who it was, and started smiling. It's Quinn.

“Hey, bestie,” I said, and I heard her scoff from the other line.

“Why do you sound so happy?” She asked me, and I shrugged as if she could see me.

“Maybe because I got invited into the big fish's office,” I said in a whisper, and she squealed.

“Yes! That means the plan is working perfectly,” she said, and I smiled.

“It is, now all that is left is to insert the chip,” I whispered, and she chuckled.

“Not all that is left, though, but it's a step forward, make sure you don't get caught,” She warned, and I nodded, as if she could see me.

“I promise I won't, bye.”

“Bye, take care of yourself, muah!” She kissed, ending the call as I dropped the phone and set out to work.

I finished everything earlier than I expected and arranged it. I picked up my bag and headed straight to the door.

“I need to get this to Jefferson and head to Gary's place as fast as I can,” I said, smiling.

I opened the door, and I flinched on seeing Andres standing by the door.

“What the hell? Jesus, you nearly gave me a heart attack,” I said, holding my chest, but he said nothing, his eyes going to the files in my arm.

“The one Jefferson gave you?” He asked, and I knew immediately that he was talking about the files.

“Yes,” I answered, handing them over to him. Well, at least he saved me enough time, instead of me going around looking for Jefferson.

I was made to leave, only for his next question to stop me.

“Where are you going?” He asked with a frown on his face.

Rosa's POVI woke that morning, feeling very lazy, and it was a Monday morning. I was home alone. Quinn had travelled for three days for an I.T training. “Alright, let’s see what this chip has given us so far,” I said, scrolling through the files on my laptop. “It’s not flooded yet, but it’s steady. Gary is definitely hiding things. Big things for that matter. These transfers don’t make sense. And these late-night meetings? Something’s off.”I leaned back on the couch and sighed. “I should feel moved about this. We’re moving in the right direction. Why do I feel so… restless?”I picked up my phone and called Quinn.“Hey Q,” I said in a toddler tone.“Rosa! Finally. I’ve been waiting. How did the data look this past weekend?” she asked.“Pretty solid, actually. I’ve gone through everything the chip sent. It’s confirming what we suspected. Gary’s hiding a lot. There are encrypted folders he keeps opening, weird offshore movements, and meetings that aren’t on any official calendar. It’s

Andres's POV“Monday morning and I’m already on edge,” I muttered, gripping the steering wheel. “The medicine took forever to settle this weekend. It kept me staring at the ceiling for hours. And Billy’s words keep replaying… ‘Talk to her. You deserve something good.’ Talk to her? How? I’ve been turning that over for two days straight, and I’m still stuck.”I parked the car and headed inside the building. “Just breathe. Get through the day. One step at a time.”Jefferson was waiting near my office. “Morning, boss. You good? You look like the weekend kicked your ass.”“Morning, Jeff. Rough weekend, yeah. The medication settled more slowly than usual. What’s the latest on Meridian?” I asked, dropping into my chair.Jefferson sat across from me. “Update looks really clean and strong. Projections are up, client feedback is positive, and the risk section is tighter than last week. We’re in a good spot.”“That’s solid news. Walk me through the numbers again,” I said.“Revenue forecast is lo

Andres's POV“Shit… slow down, just slow down,” I breathed hard, sitting on the edge of the bed, gripping my knees so tight. “Why today? Come on… breathe with me. One… two… three… four. In… hold it… out slowly. I’m trying. I’m really trying here.”My arms kept shaking. I rocked forward a little, jaw locked. “Okay… okay, deeper breaths. One… two… three… four. You’re not falling apart. You’ve done this a hundred times. Just pass already, please. I need to get to work. Nobody can see me like this.”I exhaled shakily, flexing my fingers. “There… yeah, it’s easing up. Good. You’re alright, Andres. You’re fine. Get up. Put your shirt on. Tie straight. Look like the guy who just closed the Creston deal with his team. Nobody knows about your secret. They will never know.”“Morning, Jeff. Come in, close the door,” I said as Jefferson stepped inside.“Morning, boss. You got a minute?” he asked.“Always for you. Sit down. What’s going on?” I replied.Jefferson leaned forward. “Meridian proposal

Rosa's POV“Rosa, there you are. I’ve been looking for you,” Gary said, his voice smooth as he stepped closer to me near the elevator. “Everyone’s gone home already. Perfect timing.”I tilted my head slightly toward him, smiling softly. “Gary. You always seem to appear when things get quiet. What’s on your mind?”He chuckled, standing just close enough that I could smell his cologne. “You. All evening, I couldn’t stop thinking about how everyone was talking about how incredible you were. And at the celebration… that laugh of yours? Dangerous.”“Dangerous?” I asked, letting a light laugh escape as I looked up at him. “I was just celebrating the win with everyone. You seemed to be enjoying yourself, too.”“Oh, I was. But mostly I was enjoying watching you,” he replied, his tone dropping playfully. “You light up a room, Rosa. I meant what I said earlier. You and I should have dinner. Just us, you know ...Good food, better conversation. What do you say?”I pretended to think about it, bit

Andres's POV“Boss, we did it! Creston actually signed!” Jefferson called out, raising his glass high across the room.I stood at the edge with my barely touched drink, letting the warmth of the win settle in. “Yeah, we did. The team worked their asses off. Feels good, doesn’t it?”“Feels amazing!” Sarah from finance laughed. “Open bar tonight? My tab is on the company, right?”“Everything’s on the company tonight,” I replied, smiling slightly. “Drink up. We earned this.”The team was looser than they’d been in months. Laughter bounced off the walls. Someone turned the music up a notch. I let myself enjoy the moment, watching everyone relax for once. Then Gary walked in.“Parties already started without me?” Gary announced with that easy, perfect smile, sliding through the crowd like he owned the place. “Andres, my man! Congratulations on landing Creston. Hell of a win.”“Gary,” I said. “Didn’t know you were coming by.”“Couldn’t miss celebrating with the team. You know me.” Gary wink

Rosa's POV“Miss Morales, you remind me so much of my daughter. Same fire in the eyes, same way of cutting through the nonsense,” Mr. Creston said, shaking my hand firmly.I smiled warmly, squeezing his hand back. “Thank you, sir. That means a lot coming from you. I’m really glad we could find common ground today.”“You’ve got a good head on your shoulders. Not many young people do these days. Keep that up, and you’ll go far,” he replied, nodding with approval.“I’ll do my best. Thank you again for trusting us with this,” I said softly. The moment the door closed behind him, I let the smile drop completely. I started gathering my files and notes when Andres’s voice came from across the table.“Good work.”I looked up and found him already staring at me. For a second, neither of us moved. The air felt thick, heavy with everything we weren’t saying. I held his gaze, my heart beating a little faster.“Thank you, sir,” I said quietly, breaking the moment. I looked back down at my papers.
