SAESHA POV

The next night, I couldn’t sleep.

Not after what I did. Not after the wall, the condom, the number.

And not after the text that lit up my screen an hour ago.

Alex: “You free tonight?”

My hands shook as I typed back. Yes.

Now I was sprawled on the bed, hair loose, shirt slipping off my shoulder, phone pressed to my ear—because Veeraj had called first.

“Saesha,” his voice rumbled low through the line. “What are you doing?”

My throat tightened. I bit my lip. “Nothing… just lying down.”

Lying.

Because in twenty minutes, Alex would be here.

Veeraj hummed, the sound dark. “Good girl. Still waiting for me?”

My chest squeezed. “Always,” I whispered, guilt burning my tongue.

He chuckled, low and rough. “Don’t lie. I know when you’re restless. I can hear it in your voice.”

My breath hitched. My legs pressed together under the sheets. He was right—I was restless. But not for the reason he thought.

“I miss you,” I admitted softly, eyes flicking to the cloc

  • WORSHIPPED BY MY DAD'S BESTFRIEND    Chapter 81 – Between Us

SAESHA POV The house was silent when it happened. No wind outside. No cars on the street. No sound but the steady hum of the fan and the soft breaths of my boys. Until my eyes flew open. Something felt… wrong. I turned slowly, my heart leaping into my throat. Alex had rolled in his sleep, his huge body angled across the bed, one heavy arm draped protectively over Elian. Only it wasn’t protective now — his chest and shoulder pressed against the baby’s tiny body, squashing him between us. “Elian,” I gasped, shooting upright, panic exploding in my chest. Our son let out a muffled little whimper, his tiny legs kicking weakly. “Alex!” I hissed, shoving at his arm. “Move! You’re crushing him!” Alex groaned, half-asleep, confusion etched into his face. “What—” “Get off him!” He rolled instantly, sitting up, eyes wide, chest heaving. He scooped Elian into his arms so fast it was a blur. “Baby—shit—I wasn’t—” Elian’s cry broke the room, high and sharp. My heart squeezed painfully

  • WORSHIPPED BY MY DAD'S BESTFRIEND    Chapter 80 – Mama

SAESHA POV The shower steamed hot around me, the water trailing down my skin in rivulets. For months, every time I’d stepped in here, the spray had been mixed with something else — milk leaking down my chest, soaking me no matter how careful I was. But tonight… nothing. I pressed my palms to my breasts, squeezing lightly. Just soft flesh, swollen but dry. My throat tightened. It was supposed to be a relief — no more ruined shirts, no more waking up in damp sheets. But instead, it made my chest ache with something sharp, almost grief. Is he really done needing me like that? I remembered Alex’s words — cocky, possessive, but edged with fear. So soon? Already? Tears blurred my eyes, mixing with the shower spray. Elian was almost nine months old. Crawling, babbling, eating solids. My baby was growing, and I was proud, so proud — but I still wanted to be needed. I leaned my forehead against the tile, whispering to myself. “Mama’s still here, baby. Even if you don’t need me like

  • WORSHIPPED BY MY DAD'S BESTFRIEND    Chapter 79 – Angry Little Witness

SAESHA POV The room still smelled like sex. My body ached in the best way, my hair tangled, my throat raw from moaning Alex’s name until I had no voice left. He was sprawled beside me, one arm slung over my waist, his breathing heavy, deep. For once, we were both silent. Spent. Married. And then— BANG BANG BANG. The knocking jolted me upright. Alex groaned, dragging the pillow over his head. “If that’s Clara, she better be bleeding to death.” Another bang. Then Clara’s voice, muffled but furious. “Open this door before your son brings the entire neighborhood down!” My eyes widened. I scrambled out of bed, yanking my robe over my body as Alex cursed, stumbling up behind me. When I opened the door, Clara stood there in her robe, hair wild, clutching a very red, very furious Elian. He was screaming at the top of his tiny lungs. “Oh my god,” I gasped, reaching for him. “What happened?” Clara shoved him into my arms with relief. “What happened? He never slept! He cried the en

  • WORSHIPPED BY MY DAD'S BESTFRIEND    Chapter 78 – Finally, Mine

SAESHA POV Clara strapped Elian into his carrier, humming softly as he hiccupped, his tiny fists still clenching from his midnight tantrum. “You two,” she said, wagging a finger at us with a grin, “are officially the craziest couple I know. Married in pajamas? Dragging me out at one in the morning? And this little guy as the witness?” She winked, adjusting the strap over her shoulder. “But since I love you — and because I’m not letting your ‘wedding night’ get ruined — he’s coming with me.” I blinked. “Wait—what?” Clara smirked, already walking toward the door. “Don’t look so horrified. He’ll be fine. He’s nine months, he’ll sleep through at mine just like here. You two—” she waved her hand dramatically “—need tonight.” I stared, heat flooding my cheeks. “Clara—” But Alex was already grinning, his eyes dark, his jaw clenched. He took two steps toward me, sliding his hand onto the small of my back. “She’s right,” he murmured, his voice low, rough. “We do need tonight.” Clara s

  • WORSHIPPED BY MY DAD'S BESTFRIEND    Chapter 77 – Midnight Vows

SAESHA POV Morning came, but I barely felt it. I dressed Elian in his soft blue onesie, brushed his tiny hair into some resemblance of order, and smiled whenever he giggled — but my mind was still trapped in the night. Mine. Elian’s mine. Veeraj. Alex didn’t remember. I knew he didn’t. He woke like nothing had happened, kissing my shoulder before heading downstairs to make breakfast, completely unaware that his sleep had peeled back something raw inside him that I couldn’t unhear. So I bottled it. I shoved the fear deep down, behind smiles and banter and kisses that felt just a little too tight at the edges. But Alex noticed. Of course he noticed. By evening, he was restless. Elian had gone down early, worn out from crawling all over the living room. The house was quiet except for the low hum of the fridge, the tick of the clock, and the weight of Alex’s stare as he leaned against the counter, watching me fuss with the baby monitor. “You’re too quiet,” he said finally, his

  • WORSHIPPED BY MY DAD'S BESTFRIEND    Chapter 76 – Shifting Seasons

SAESHA POV The ride home from Clara’s clinic felt different. Our son — Elian now, not just Bean — was fast asleep in his car seat, his tiny fists curled against his cheeks. Every bump in the road made me peek back at him, just to be sure he was still breathing, still safe. Alex drove one-handed, his other resting on my thigh, thumb tracing circles absentmindedly. His face was unreadable, somewhere between calm and calculating, but when we pulled into the driveway and carried Elian upstairs, he softened instantly. I settled onto the bed, cradling Elian against me. He stirred, whining softly, rooting. I sighed, tugging down my neckline. “Alright, baby. Mama’s got you.” He latched, suckling, but slower than usual. Alex leaned against the dresser, arms folded, watching intently. “He’s not drinking as much.” I frowned, adjusting him. “He’s distracted. He’ll finish.” But Alex shook his head, his eyes narrowing. “No. He’s slowing down. Your milk’s less now, isn’t it?” Hea
