Chapter 43.

"Dad, why don't you and Mom sleep together?"

Ajax, who had been calmly flipping through a business report in his study, paused mid-page. His pen stopped moving. He looked up at his son, who stood with arms crossed and a deeply serious expression—too serious for someone wearing a T-shirt with a cartoon dinosaur and mismatched socks.

Caught off guard, Ajax's mind scrambled. He remembered the explanation Gwyneth had used once. So, he parroted it back with confidence.

"Because your mom sleeps late and wakes up late. I don’t want to disturb her."

Dylan narrowed his eyes and immediately called him out. “I’m not one of those little kids you can trick.”

Ajax’s composure cracked slightly. “I didn’t say you were.”

“You said before that a person has to be honest,” Dylan said matter-of-factly. “Don’t lie to me just because I’m a kid. That’s being dishonest.”

Ajax was rendered speechless.

Gwyneth hadn’t given him any warning about this conversation. Not even a cryptic message to prepar

Chapter 47.The hallway was softly lit by a few wall lights. Ajax stood there in his usual house clothes—plain, nothing eye-catching—but still managed to look like he stepped out of a magazine. He stood so straight, hands tucked into his pockets, tall and broad-shouldered without being beanpole-thin. Masculine. Effortlessly masculine. And when he wore a suit? He was practically walking pheromones. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately, his looks just happened to fall squarely into the category of my type.Right now, he had on gold-rimmed glasses too, adding an extra layer of elegance to his usual aura. My brain suddenly spat out a phrase: a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Not in a bad way but a more dangerous way. If he could look this hot in plain clothes what more if he really dressed nicely? Can’t you imagine?“Why are you still awake?” he asked me, and I couldn’t help but notice how the fatigue etched into his face made him look more... human.“I couldn’t fall asleep,” I replied. Then, w

  • Waking Up As the Villain's Mother   Chapter 46

Chapter 46.I made mochi today—both strawberry and mango flavored. This is one of the desserts I have been craving ever since watching many Korean cooking shows. It’s delicate, white, soft, and chewy. They tasted even better after being refrigerated.Ajax picked up one of the strawberry ones and took a bite. Watching him, I felt a little nervous, like a student waiting for her test score.“The sweetness and coolness go well together,” he said. “It tastes pretty good.”Yes!If I had a tail, it would’ve been wagging high in the air.I knew I had a talent for this kind of thing—it just hadn’t been confirmed before. Back in my old world, I only had a tiny oven, but I’d followed online tutorials and made all kinds of things. Once I transmigrated here and had money and a bit of free time, I made a list: skills I needed for survival, and skills I wanted to learn just for fun. This obviously fell into the “fun” category.Sure, Auntie Susan and Dylan had praised my desserts before—but Ajax’s c

  • Waking Up As the Villain's Mother   Chapter 45

Chapter 45.Apparently, I didn’t just inherit a plastic husband. The original owner had plenty of plastic friends too.It had only been a month or two since I arrived in this world, and I’d barely caught my breath. But even in that short time, there was no shortage of people inviting me to go shopping, eat overpriced desserts, and try out every kind of hedonistic pleasure imaginable. One woman even tried to introduce me to a “handsome and obedient boytoy” like it was some kind of sales pitch. For the past months I just keep ignoring them. And based on the original Gwyneth’s personality it wasn’t that unusual. She cuts-off people whenever she wants. But if you ask me, she was indeed a mystery. Her character and attitude makes you curious. She is a selfish woman, yet she still did help her family. She was cold to Dylan but never physically harmed him. And even after marrying Ajax, means that she would have a lot of power and influence in the company, but she didn’t bother to suppress th

  • Waking Up As the Villain's Mother   Chapter 44

Chapter 44.You could say that Ajax Montclair was something of a rare breed in his circle.I wasn’t oblivious, I have been working on corporate jobs ever since I graduated. I have seen its dark side. Being a corporate slave was no joke, especially in a toxic environment. Affairs is a common thing. There were plenty of CEOs who put on a show—perfect husbands in public, wolves in tailored suits behind closed doors. The stories were endless. Men parade their wives on red carpets while they chase after secretaries during business trips. Whether rich or not, so many men seemed to share the same fantasy: a wife at home and mistresses to keep things “exciting” on the side. And yet, despite the rumors about him having a stunning wife, Ajax had never taken the bait. Over the years, there were whispers about people trying to toss women his way at networking dinners and casual business meetups. Still, he always declined—politely but firmly. It would be nonsense to say he rejected those women bec

Chapter 42.I blinked, stunned, as Dylan’s small figure marched up to me with such seriousness that it nearly knocked the breath from my chest. I bent down, scooping him up into my arms, and hugged him tightly.“Dylan, what are you talking about?” I asked, my voice soft but alarmed.Dylan was really a cool boy. He buried his face into my shoulder. Even though he really wanted to cry, he resisted. Lying in my arms, his little body trembling slightly as he clung to me.“I like you, Mom,” he said quietly. “My teacher and Dad both said that if you like someone, you have to respect them. Everything’s okay as long as you’re happy. So... if you can onl
