Chapter 1

"Three million dollars! Sold to Mr. Vincent for tonight's crown jewel!"

The auctioneer's loud voice echoed across the mafia's annual charity gala hall.

Under everyone's eyes, my fiancé Vincent stood up gracefully. He took the sparkling antique diamond necklace and walked straight toward Bianca, the daughter of our rival family.

He gently put the necklace around Bianca's neck and spoke softly, his voice echoing in the room: "Only a fierce, royal woman like Bianca deserves to wear the Blood Tear."

Bianca leaned close to him, her eyes full of provocation aimed at me.

Thunderous applause broke out. Countless mocking and pitying eyes pierced me as I sat in the corner.

I gripped my skirt, stood up, and walked to Vincent. "Vincent, tonight is the Rossi family's event. I am your fiancée. You gave the main prize to her. What about me?"

Vincent didn't even look at me properly. His eyes held pure disgust. He waved his hand impatiently. "Shut up and stop embarrassing me. If not for your father, you wouldn't even set foot in this room. You're completely useless and embarrassing."

He pulled out his encrypted phone and cast a screenshot onto the big screen in the hall.

It was my dark web account's latest post:

[50-dollar reward: How do I act at an auction to fit the status of the Underboss's fiancée?]

"Take a look, everyone. This is the eldest daughter of the Rossi family," Vincent scoffed. "She paid fifty bucks on the dark web to ask stray dogs how to be a classy woman. Does someone like her deserve an explanation?"

Laughter flooded the room, threatening to drown me.

Humiliation cut through me like a blade. I bit my tongue and retreated to the back dressing room amidst the mockery.

Just as I shut the door, my phone vibrated hard. A private message popped up on the dark web—someone actually accepted my stupid fifty-dollar bounty.

His message was short: [I get paid, I deliver. Find a quiet spot. Sending files now.]

I hid in the room, typing with shaking fingers: [I can't control anything tonight. I can't even command the lowest soldiers...]

He replied instantly: [You are not weak. The man leading you is just a coward.]

A second later, a massive file hit my screen: [Rossi Family Underground Empire: Strategic Overhaul].

I opened it, and my eyes went wide. The report analyzed my bloodline advantages, my father's hidden weapons supply line, and a plan for me to take back three major docks in one month! For the first time, I realized how much power was sleeping inside me.

Before I could process it, a loyal guard sent me a screenshot.

It was Bianca's private post. The photo showed Vincent renting out the entire VIP lounge just for her, personally fastening her necklace.

Bianca wrote: [True love is when he chooses me over the entire world.]

I let out a cold laugh, tears brimming in my eyes. Vincent knew how to protect a woman's pride. He just never saw me as a human being.

Right then, a heavy notification hit every senior member's phone: [The battle for the next supreme leader of the Rossi family starts now. Open to all members. Time limit: Seven days.]

Seeing the message, I finally understood why Vincent treated me this way. Bianca brought her family's heavy weapons network to the table. His drunken words still rang in my ears: "If I marry her, I get half the city's docks! You don't even shoot a gun. What do you bring me besides your father's name?"

He planned this all along.

My fingers shook on the phone. I almost swiped it away.

Then the dark web terminal popped up again: [Sign up. Follow my seven-day plan, and I will help you tear them down.]

Looking at those words, the fire in my blood ignited.

The next morning, at the Rossi Family Council Hall.

I wore a sharp black suit and signed my name on the entry form in front of everyone: Clara Rossi.

"Clara? Are you crazy?!"

Vincent walked in, saw my name, and laughed out loud. He held Bianca close, staring at me with pure disdain. "Throwing a tantrum at the gala wasn't enough? You want to play with real power? You can't even pull a gun's safety switch. Stop making a fool of yourself."

Bianca giggled beside him, holding my hand fake-warmly. "Clara, Vincent is just looking out for you. You can't handle the blood of the mob. Stay in the estate and be a quiet wife. Leave the shooting to Vincent."

Listening to their mockery, I pulled my hand back and threw away all my past obedience.

"Don't worry about me. We'll see who the real prey is in seven days."

Ding. My phone buzzed with a location from my advisor: [5 PM. Underground Firing Range No. 1. Come out and meet your real Enforcer.]

The moment the announcement went live, support flooded in from everywhere. Even rival families sent congratulations. At the exact same time, the family hackers traced the source. The fake dark web account that pushed the treason rumor was linked straight to Bianca's private alt account. The truth broke. Bianca's reputation was ruined. Her family disowned her without mercy, froze all her cards, and locked her into an arranged marriage overnight. Her groom? The bastard son of a Russian mob boss—a sadistic maniac who reportedly never kept a fiancée alive for more than a month."No! Vincent! Save me! I don't want to go to Russia!"Bianca screamed her lungs out as they dragged her off. Deep down, she knew her family traded her for border routes. She stood zero chance. And Vincent, the man she treated as her shield, never spoke a single word for her.A rainy night, right before my official inauguration.I walked toward the main estate, and a tall figure rushed out of the shadows.Vincent had

The grand hall was ablaze with light.I sat in the top candidate's seat, my back straight as a board. At every banquet before this, I was just a nobody sitting on the sidelines. Dressed up pretty, no different from a vase on the table. But today, I was one step away from the ultimate throne.Up front, Bianca wore a couture gown. Around her neck was the gemstone necklace she stole from me at the auction. Vincent sat right beside her with his piece hanging on his hip, looking like a guaranteed winner. When he saw me sitting here, Vincent's eyes turned pitch black. He still held that dark, bitter look from being rejected. My phone buzzed. It was a text from Gabe, sitting in the very back row. I glanced out of the corner of my eye. He was calmly wiping down his gun with a handkerchief. The dark gold finish gleamed under the lights.[Relax, Clara. It's time this night got a new master.]I shut off the screen, a small smirk touching my lips."First candidate, Vincent!" the senior capo shoute

The rules for the final showdown dropped on the internal network at midnight. War broke out instantly."The top two must pitch a decade of family expansion," I stared at the tactical sand table, my voice cold as ice. "Three minutes. Live combat tactics and military power."Gabe stood beside me, calmly handing me a tactical pen. "Your play? Paint a pretty lie for those greedy elders?""No," I pressed down on the harbor map and sneered. "I'm going to tell them: Don't fear the blood. Fear weakness."Once upon a time, I made myself small, a quiet nobody just to please Vincent. I backed down for seven straight years. My reward? Being treated like trash and trampled into the dirt.Over the next few days, I swapped my clothes for a sharp black hunting outfit and leather boots.Gabe walked by my side, mapping out every inch of the family's core territories with me.From the freezing, damp container docks at dawn, to the underground armory smelling of gun oil after rain, all the way to midnight

The official announcement from the Rossi family exploded across the network in the middle of the night. The statement was blindingly clear: Clara Rossi's primary results were 100% real. Zero treason, zero foreign interference. The dark web smear thread was permanently banned, and the executive committee was hunting down the hacker behind it.Overnight, the tide turned completely. My phone blew up with hundreds of apologies and kiss-ass messages. The same capos who were screaming to throw me into an interrogation room yesterday were now kissing my boots.I sneered and cleared my inbox. These cheap apologies couldn't erase how close I came to dying under a treason charge. In this family, power was the only god they worshipped, not the truth. The next morning, I walked into the council hall in my heels to grab the territory maps. The busy hall went dead silent the second I pushed open the door. Soldiers stood in small groups, whispering and throwing glances between me and Bianca in the di

I pushed open the heavy wooden doors of the Judgment Hall.Rain poured down the stone steps. At the bottom stood a man in a black suit. He held a heavy tactical case in one hand. Broad shoulders. Long legs. He radiated a suffocating lethality."Did these old fools hurt you?" He stopped right in front of me. His deep voice cut through the rain. His large hand gently rubbed my hair. "Don't be scared. I'm here."Vincent stumbled to a halt right behind me. His pupils shrank into tiny pinpricks. "G... Gabe?! How the hell is it you?!"The old capos and foot soldiers all gasped in shock. In the Mafia today, everyone knew Gabe. He took down infiltrators from three rival families all by himself. He was the underworld's ultimate judge.Vincent tried to block us. "No! How could you work for this girl? Fifty bucks can't buy someone like you!"Then he sneered. "Even if it's him, you still can't clear your name! You sold us out!"An old capo grabbed Vincent and shook his head. "Before the Old Man di

Outside the Council Room, Vincent blocked my way.He put on a fake, worried face. "Clara, I know you wanted to prove you're good enough for me. But faking deals is wrong. Admit it now before it gets worse.""Who do you think you are to question me?" I slapped his hand away. "You're just the Underboss. Respect your place and address me as Lady Clara."Vincent's face darkened, his eyes turning mean. He adjusted his tie and sneered, "Don't throw away my kindness, Clara. Let me see who saves you inside."Inside the Council Room, the air was freezing cold.Three Elders sat high up, surrounded by armed guards. The Chief Elder slammed his gavel down with a loud bang: "Clara Rossi, you are accused of working with enemies, faking your wins, and selling out the Rossi family. This is treason!""I didn't."I raised my head and threw my encrypted tablet onto the table. The deed to Vegas Pier No. 1 and all payment records popped up on the big screen. "The deed and payment records are fully legal. Th
