Damon’s POV

"Three months to be precise," Shofia spoke again about the rest of Addison's life.

I shook my head vigorously. No way! She must be wrong. There's no way Addison would leave that quickly. "That's impossible. All this time, I've known that Addison is a strong woman. There's no way anything like that could happen to her. You're not even God!"

Shofia shook her head softly and looked at me compassionately. "You're still in denial about it, Mr. Saunders. Addison deliberately didn't want to tell you because you always ignored her. You always defended that damn woman and didn't care about your wife. Now, Addison is dying, and it's all because of you!"

I looked down at the hospital floor while listening to the words of Shofia, who knew more about Addison. That woman has been talking down to me and blaming me for what happened to Addison ever since. "Addison should have told me a long time ago," I muttered under my breath and was sure that Shofia and Jared could still hear it.
