Beck POV

Andrew and Connor took me to one of Connor’s private homes, one of the many properties the man owned scattered around Chicago—and Andrew probably had just as many.

The place was massive; the living room alone could fit my entire apartment. It was sophisticated and well-equipped, and the bedroom was absolutely breathtaking.

“You could start living in places like this from now on,” Andrew said from behind me. “All you have to do is accept our proposition.” He was referring to the offer they made to me and Cassie to become their luxury escorts.

The man had his hands lightly gripping my waist in a sensual way, pulling me by the hips to press my body against his. I smiled wickedly, enjoying the feel of his firm body behind me.

“We’ll make sure you and your friend want for nothing,” Connor chimed in, approaching me and handing me a glass of wine, which I took and sipped. He had taken off his jacket and loosened his tie—these guys were so sexy. I couldn’t have been better served.

“You two are pretty persuasive, and I do love being spoiled, if you know what I mean,” I said with a goofy grin. “Where are Spencer and Joshua? Aren’t they here?” I asked, looking around the room for the other two.

Andrew let out a loud laugh as he sprawled on the couch with his arms open, with Connor chuckling along. “You want all four of us at once? Could you handle it?” Connor teased, touching my face.

“I just thought they’d be here too,” I explained, sitting on the living room couch. I’ll admit, I wasn’t the sharpest.

“Sorry to disappoint you,” Andrew said. “But Spencer’s at a meeting in the UK, and Josh is only interested in your friend.”

My eyes widened slightly. “Seriously?” Was it true that Josh was only interested in Cassie? Cassie was crazy about him too. I’d put up with her talking about him all week, and now hearing that Josh wanted her too was great news.

“Yeah. He was the first to back us making this deal with you two because he wants to see your friend soon,” Connor said, lightly kissing my shoulder. Had Cassie and Josh made some kind of connection the night they met?

“Now that you mention him, he asked us to get your friend’s contact info. Can you do that?” Andrew asked.

“Of course!” I practically shouted, I was so loud. If Josh reached out to Cassie, it would make my friend so happy. “I’ll give you her number, no problem. Where’s the phone?” The guys handed me the phone, and I saved Cassie’s number in it. She’d thank me big time for this later.

“Perfect,” Connor said when I finished with the phone. He took it from my hand and passed it to Andrew, then scooped me up in his arms, startling me a bit.

I wrapped my arms around his neck to hold on. “Since we’re done talking business, let’s get to the fun part,” he said. He was carrying me to the bedroom while I laughed at his boldness, with Andrew following us, a mischievous glint in his eye.

We were going to have a lot of fun tonight.

Cassie POV

“Josh asked for my number?” I asked, stunned, after my friend told me what Andrew and Connor had said. I was still reeling from what she’d told me—so this meant Josh was thinking about me too? After that, I had to sit down.

“I knew you’d be thrilled!” Beck celebrated with me.

“Do you really think he’ll call me…?” I was scared. He was apparently some big-shot, rich guy. Why would he bother calling me, a mere commoner?

“Look, from what Andrew and Connor said, he’s really into you,” Beck said. “And let’s be real, what guy with your number wouldn’t call you? Look at you—you’re a total babe. Joshua’s the one missing out if he doesn’t reach out, and he doesn’t know you’ve got plenty of guys chasing you,” she said, hyping me up.

I loved that about her—Beckie hated seeing me down. She’d do anything to make me smile, like now. I grinned at her teasing.

“Yeah, I do have options. But I still want Joshua,” I said, flopping onto the couch. “I just want to see him one more time.”

“And you will, girl. But hold up, I didn’t know you actually had a bunch of guys after you,” she said, eyeing me suspiciously. “What are you up to, Cassandra Millans?”

I smiled, covering my face. “Well, I’m not lucky enough to have a limousine pull up for me, okay? I needed to unwind, and Joe helped me out in the college bathroom,” I admitted with a little smirk.

My friend’s jaw dropped, forming a perfect O. “No way… You hooked up with Joe? In the college bathroom?” Her voice had the slightest hint of a drawl.

“It wasn’t my fault—Joe’s hot, you know…” But Beckie jumped up and let out a squeal of joy so loud I thought my neighbors would bang on the door to complain about the noise. I threw a pillow at her. “Quiet down unless you want me evicted from this building, you troublemaker!”

“Sorry, I’m just shocked. Joe’s always been flirting with you, and you never really gave him the time of day, but now you’re telling me it happened, and it sounds like it was good, huh,” she teased, laughing at me. How was I supposed to explain to her that I basically used Joe to relieve the horniness I felt thinking about Josh? No, better not say that—it didn’t feel like the right thing to do.

“But don’t get your hopes up, okay? I don’t want anything to do with that jerk,” I told her, watching her smile fade.

“My God, Cassie. Why would you say that?”

“Mark told me Joe Wilson was going around bragging that he slept with me, like I’m some damn trophy,” I explained.

Beckie made a face. “You’re killing my vibe bringing that asshole Mark into our conversation, you know? You shouldn’t even be talking to him.” She rolled her eyes. Seeing her reaction, I decided to leave out the dinner I had with Mark—I was afraid she’d think I was trying to get back with him or something.

“But anyway, baby, what if Josh Carter calls you wanting to meet up this weekend?” she asked with a speculative smirk, making me want that call more than anything in my life.

“Then I think I need a new dress for my long-awaited date with Josh Carter,” I said, giddy, and we both laughed, jumping around excitedly.

Beckie POVI prepared a bowl of chocolate cream with milk for my friend and brought it to her in her room. It was my way of apologizing for being so harsh with her earlier when I brought up Joshua. I really didn’t mean to fight with her, but finding out she was falling for Joshua Carter caught me off guard.I carried the fondue to her room, knocking lightly on the door before entering. My friend was lying on the bed, hugging her pillow, with a goofy smile on her face as she typed on her phone, clearly texting someone. And, given what I’d just figured out, along with that lovesick smile of hers while she used her phone, it wasn’t hard to conclude that the person she was messaging was none other than Joshua.I sighed as I entered the room. As soon as she noticed me, her smile faded, and she sat up on the bed, turning off her phone.“What do you want?” she asked, a bit hesitant, with the expression of someone caught doing something they shouldn’t.“I brought you your chocolate cream wit

  • Wanted By Josh Carter: His Father, My Lover    22: Definitely not in love

Cassie POVJealousy? Liking Joshua? Falling for him? What the hell was my friend talking about?“What are you going on about, you crazy girl?” I questioned, finding her speculations utterly ridiculous. She had her eyes slightly widened and her mouth agape, showing surprise. “What? Why are you looking at me like that?”“Because it seems totally true that you’re falling for him,” she said. “God, how did I not notice this before? You’ve been talking about him nonstop since that night at the club, even when you had to get back at Mark Skyland, and now you’re here all smitten over him.”I laughed dryly, finding it absurd. “Nonsense, don’t be stupid. I just find Joshua Carter interesting, that’s all,” I denied. I was completely in denial—this possibility had never crossed my mind. I mean, why would I fall for him? I wasn’t *that* crazy.“Girl, how long have I known you? Twenty-five years?” she said.I rolled my eyes. “First of all, neither you nor I are that old.”“It was a metaphor, babe,”

Cassie POVJoshua took me to a pier in Los Angeles, saying he wanted to take me for a ride on his private boat—just a lovely boat trip with him. When we got there, his “boat” was nothing less than a stunning, sophisticated two-story yacht in cyan blue and light brown. My eyes widened in surprise. I’d already seen his private jet and his beachfront mansion, and now, seeing the yacht, I realized Joshua Carter must be *really* rich—richer than I’d imagined. In the truest sense of the word.“Wow, what a surprise!” I exclaimed, staring at the yacht. We were walking along the pier, hand in hand. “What a humble little boat you’ve got here, huh?” I said sarcastically. He laughed, shrugging. “The result of a lot of hard work and such,” he replied, still being ironic. From what I knew about him, he was born into a wealthy family—it’s not like he couldn’t afford everything he has now if he wasn’t working. The truth is, he worked because he loved it.“You’re so humble,” I said sarcastically, giv
