TRISTAN'S POV.

It seemed like everything stopped moving immediately Matilda informed us of Gary's death. I couldn't believe it. Gary? Dead? There was no way I would believe Gary was dead. I had seen Gary the previous day, and he was healthy and jumping.

How could Gary be dead?

Gary was one of the men I considered as my grandfather. He was one of the oldest elders in the pack and was happily married to Dorothy—a quiet, calm and sweet woman.

Gary had been like a father to both my father and Athena's father, and he had doted on me. When I got into trouble, he always stood up for me, and when I had problems, I always talked to him, before anyone else.

When my father died, Gary comforted me. I had acted strong in the presence of everyone, but I had cried with him for so many nights. Gary, who was always laughing, and always had a joke or a story to tell.

I had grown to take care of his every need, even though he didn't ask for much. He was always bothering me.
