LUCIA
I tried to remember why that name sounded so familiar and where I had heard it from, but my brain was so foggy that it was basically futile, and I had no choice but to give up. “It’s nice to meet you, Lucia.” Jeremy said in that rich, baritone voice of his, snapping me out of my reverie, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t like the way he said my name. “It’s nice to meet you too, Jeremy.” I answered with a smile. Jeremy. I had no idea why, but for some reason, I thought that the name suited him perfectly. Jeremy still held on to my hand, and his bright blue eyes, which were still intense on mine, made me nervous. “Would you like to talk and maybe have some drinks? I would like to know more about you.” My heart instantly did a flip in my chest. Usually, I would say no to that. I was not the kind of person that would agree to hang out with a complete stranger, but maybe because I was not in my right mind, or maybe it was because of the man standing in front of me, but I could not bring myself to say no. I didn’t want the night to end just yet. Conversing with him a little more would not hurt anyone. “Of course.” I answered, my smile turning flirty. Jeremy’s smile was relieved, and instead of letting go of my hand, he took my other hand, interlocking his fingers with mine. I was not one who liked physical contact, but at that moment, the action made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and even if I wanted to pull away, I couldn’t bring myself to. “Come on.” He said, tugging me along the hallway like we had known each other for a long time till we arrived at a balcony. Even though we came here to talk, Jeremy and I just stood side by side, admiring the dark, beautiful sky that was full of stars. I felt the wind ruffle my hair and clothes, and my heart sank in disappointment when he let go of my hand. My hand, which felt warm and protected earlier, was now cold. Jeremy and I settled into a bit of silence, which was not at all awkward. It was comfortable even. I slowly glanced at him, deciding to take that time to study him even more. Jeremy was incredibly tall. I assumed he was about 6 ft with the way he towered over me. The top buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing a toned chest and a silver necklace. Over his shirt was a black jacket and beneath were black pants and a pair of fashionable boots. When I finally looked up at his face, his eyes were already on mine, and my cheeks flushed red at the fact that I had just been caught staring. Jeremy’s lips broke into another smile as he gently tugged off his jacket before taking a step closer and wrapping it around me. I had no idea that I was still shivering from the cold as I was too entranced by him, and the moment he wrapped his jacket around me, I was instantly engulfed in warmth. Even after Jeremy wrapped his jacket around me, he did not step away, and his hands still lingered on my arms. He was so close that I practically inhaled his cologne, the enticing scent making me dizzy with pleasure. “So are you with the bride or groom?” He asked, his hot breath grazing my skin and instantly sending shivers up my spine. “The bride.” I managed to answer, still unable to get over how much he affected me. “Yeah. I figured.” I raised a confused brow at that. “You figured?” “You two barely left each other’s side, and I know that because I have not been able to take my eyes off you all night.” My breath hitched in my chest as I blinked in surprise. “You’ve been watching me?” “Well, it’s hard not to. You are a very beautiful woman.” His breath fanned my skin once more, and his which had grown dark with desire was intense on mine, leaving me hot and breathless. My entire body tingled with a desire for Jeremy. I wanted his hands all over me, and I was determined to do whatever it took to make it happen. I took a step close to him till our lips were only inches apart. If I leaned in just a little bit, our lips would meet. “And you are a very handsome man.” I purred, my voice all sultry and seductive, not pausing to think about the fact that the way I was acting was so unlike me. Jeremy slowly lifted his finger, grazing my chin, and that was all it took. We both leaned in, his lips crashing against mine in a frenzy, and our mouths moved in unison like we had been craving each other for decades. His lips were soft, and his mouth tasted like wine, the sweetness almost driving me crazy. His hands found my waist, and he tugged me closer till my body collided with his rock-hard physique. His arms continued roaming around my body. My waist, back, hair and face like he could not get enough of me, and as his touches grew rougher, a low moan escaped my lips. My moan grew even louder as his fingers lightly trailed up the slit of my dress. Jeremy slowly pulled away, his eyes drinking me in like he wanted to take me right there and then. His beautiful cerulean blue eyes were filled with questions. Questions that I understood instantly. Questions that I already knew the answers to. I nodded without even letting him speak, and a small smile graced his features as he grabbed my hand once again in such a familiar manner. “Come on.” Jeremy said, leading me out of the balcony and through the hallways. He was a complete stranger, but at that moment, I knew I would follow him anywhere because I was so hungry for him. He led me into a nice room, and I had no time to admire how cosy the room was before Jeremy backed me against the wall, pressing his lips to mine. This time, there was nothing soft and gentle about the kiss. It was rough and passionate, and we ravished each other like our lives depended on it. My fingers tangled in Jeremy’s hair, and he let out a growl, making my knees buckle as his lips found my neck. He began kissing and sucking and, at the same time, unzipping my dress and exposing my lingerie. He lifted me so easily like I weighed nothing, and I wrapped my arms around his neck, wrapping my legs around his waist as he held me steady. His lips found mine once again, and I had no idea how he managed to carry to bed while kissing me at the same time. Jeremy laid me down gently on the bed, breaking the kiss as he watched me, and I did not miss the hungry look in his eyes. “You’re so damn beautiful.” He growled, his voice thick with desire. My cheeks flushed red as a shy smile graced my lips. Our mouths met once again, and soon, our clothes flew off till we were both completely naked. Pleasure built in the pit of my stomach as Jeremy’s warm, leaned, and muscled body pressed against mine. His lips found my nipples as his fingers made their way to my folds, massaging softly. My eyes fluttered shut as filthy noises escaped my lips. His fingers grew frantic, and my head and vision swam as he slipped his length inside me, burying himself inside me completely. I let out a small cry, feeling the burn as my eyes sealed shut, but as he began moving inside me, pain soon turned into full-blown pleasure and before long, the sounds of our moans reverberated around the room, sweat trickling down my entire body as Jeremy pounded into me and ravished my body ferociously. I didn’t tell Beth or anyone else where I would be, and I was aware that they would probably be looking for me, but I couldn’t bring myself to care. The only person I could focus on at that moment was the man burying himself inside me just like I wanted. We went at it again and again for hours, and after a while, alcohol and fatigue finally caught up to me, leaving me with no choice but to drift off to sleep. I had no idea how much time had passed, but after what seemed like hours later, a low groan escaped my lips as my eyes finally opened. My head banged like crazy and the sunlight, which filtered in through the windows, did little to help my case. I lifted my hands, trying to shield my eyes from the sun as they tried to adjust to my surroundings. Slowly, my eyes darted around before landing on the man sleeping peacefully next to me. Memories of what we did flooded through my head as my eyes went wide with horror. I was now sober, which meant that I saw everything completely differently now. Even though there were holes in my memories, I was well aware of the fact that I had sex with a complete stranger. “Oh, shit. What the hell have I done?!” I gasped, instantly regretting my foolish actions.LUCIA I had spent about a week in Italy, and I would have called the experience pure bliss if I wasn't missing Jeremy so much.I was starting to adjust to life here, and even though it still felt like I was on some kind of vacation, I knew I needed to find a job soon.Every minute and second that I was supposed to use to enjoy my life and forget my struggles was spent missing Jeremy instead.I just couldn't stop thinking about him no matter how much I tried. I knew it was going to be extremely difficult leaving him behind and moving here, but not seeing him every day was starting to become borderline unbearable.I wanted to see his face again. My body craved his touch so much that I thought I was going insane.I had vivid dreams about him and the next morning, when I woke up and found the space next to me, I would feel a massive ache in my chest which was harder and harder to deal with by the day.I was tempted to contact him just to hear his sweet voice again, but I couldn't bring
JEREMY I gulped, sniffing before instantly looking away. Aaron’s blank expression had turned concerned, and I had no idea what I was supposed to do with that. Aaron never came into my room. He never showed concern for me. I could tell that he always wished that we were never brothers, so why was everything changing now?Aaron was acting too strange, and it made me confused. I honestly hated being confused.I rubbed the back of my neck, answering without looking him in the eyes. “Yes.” I answered honestly. I was too exhausted and broken down to even try to lie. Aaron let out a sigh, his eyes softening, which was another rare occurrence from him. Seriously, what in the world had come over him? Why was he so weird?“Let me guess. She broke up with you?” He asked, and usually, I wouldn’t want to discuss stuff like this with him, but at that moment, I just shrugged. Telling him about it wouldn’t hurt anyway. I was honestly too dejected to care anyway. “She did. She also moved to Italy
JEREMY My jaw hung open as I blinked, refusing to believe what I had just heard. It was impossible. I probably just heard wrong.“What?” I whispered in a voice that came out shakier than I expected. “What did you just say?” The sympathy on Beth’s face deepened as she took a step closer to me, placing her hand gently on my shoulder.“I’m sorry, Jeremy, but she no longer lives here. She moved away.” I found it so difficult to wrap my head around the fact that Lucia left without even bothering to say a word to me that my breath began coming out in loud gasps. I could feel my body temperature rise as my palms and feet turned sweaty. Beth’s expression turned extremely concerned as she leaned in to get a better view of my face. “Are you okay? You seem kind of pale.” She asked, and I let out a sigh, not at all concerned about my wellbeing. The only thing I was concerned about was the bad news I had just heard. I placed both hands on her shoulders, my eyes wide with what almost felt li
JEREMY I sank into despair and refused to leave my room for days ever since Lucia broke up with me. I was at the lowest point of my life, and I knew I would never be the same again if I just let her go.I needed to get her back no matter what. I instantly shot up from my bed, had a change of clothes, grabbed my keys, and raced out of the room before unfortunately running into the last person I wanted to see. Aaron.I let out a loud sigh, rolling my eyes as I attempted to side-step him, but he instantly stopped me in my tracks.“Going somewhere?” He drawled, his usual smug expression which pissed me off so much present on his face. “None of your business,” I growled, trying to side-step him once again, but he held onto my arm, refusing to let me go.“What the hell do you want, Aaron?” I grunted, feeling extreme anger bubble through my insides. “Did you forget what dad said? He asked you to show up at the company, but you never even came. Not even once. You really don’t care about ta
LUCIA I heard Beth pause on the phone for a few seconds, and it was truly unnerving. It made my heart pound so fast. I wished she would say something at that moment. Anything. Finally, she broke the silence. “What? Italy? Why would you suddenly move to Italy?” I took a deep breath, running my fingers through my hair. “It’s the only way I can escape Connor. He won’t stop harassing me as long as I am around.” “But that’s a big decision you took, Lucy. Please, come back. I’ll figure out a way to protect you from that bastard. Please just don’t leave, alright? What about me? What do I do without you? What about Jeremy, too?” Her voice turned shaky, and tears instantly sprang to my eyes.“I’m sorry, Beth, but this is the only way. I’m almost at the airport. I can’t turn back now. Just promise me that you will keep this a secret. Don’t tell anyone where I’m going to be. You’re the only one I have told.” “Please, Lucy. Think about this. You can’t just leave.” Beth said, and from her tone
CHAPTER 58Lucia“You sick psycho!” I yelled at Connor with rage burning in the pools of my eyes. My hands trembled so much that the box which I had been carrying fell to the ground.“How dare you show your face in front of me after everything you’ve done?! How dare you come back here?! Get the hell out of here right now, you monster!” I bellowed, seeing red, but my yells only made him chuckle even louder. I regretted the day I decided to get intertwined with the mad man in front of me. I wish I had never met him. My life would be much better if I had never met Connor, and that was a fact.“It doesn’t matter how loud you yell, Lucia. You’re coming with me, and that’s final.” I gritted my teeth, my entire body trembling as I shot him a glare that was cold enough to turn a person into ice. “Leave right now. If you don’t, I’ll walk into my kitchen, I’ll return with a knife, and I will not hesitate to gut you with it.” I said in a voice as cold as stone, and I meant e
