JEREMY

Monday came faster than I could blink, and once again, I was back on campus. I was so occupied through the weekend with Lucia that I barely even had time for my friends.

The accusations came as soon as I met my friends in the hallway.

“Dude!” Tyler exclaimed, his blue eyes wide with shock and slight ire.

“What the hell?! You’ve been blowing us off all weekend!” Dean exclaimed, his eyebrows furrowed with annoyance.

“You’ve been hanging with your new friends, haven’t you?” Jack pointed a finger at me with a menacing look in his eyes, and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes as an exasperated sigh escaped my lips.

My friends were just being dramatic for no reason.

“Don’t be ridiculous. I don’t have any new friends.” I said, attempting to walk away, but my friends were not having any of that.

“Well, if you had no new friends, why did you suddenly turn invisible.” Ryan chipped, following behind me along with the rest of them.

“Ugh. I didn’t turn invisible, okay? I was just busy.” I answered, quickening my pace and hoping to get as far away from my friends and their ridiculous questions.

“Oh, yeah? What were you busy with?” Dean asked, and I couldn’t help but feel like the boys were acting like clingy ex-girlfriends right now.

Avoiding answering their questions, I quickly slipped into the lecture hall and walked the fastest I had ever walked in my entire life, taking my seat on one of the chairs and hoping that two people would come and claim the chairs next to me.

Unfortunately, Ryan and Dean slipped into the class and began making their way over to me.

My prayers increased as I hoped someone would claim the seats, though, but the chairs remained empty when they arrived, and I could only watch as they plopped on the seats next to me.

From the expressions on their faces, it was clear that they were not done asking questions.

“Come on, Jeremy. You know you’ll have to tell us eventually one way or another. Stop dragging this out and making this harder on us, and just tell us what you have been up to. You’re acting a little too sketchy.”

I let out a loud sigh, feeling a headache crawl up my skull. Just as I opened my mouth to speak, the door to the lecture hall opened, and the woman of my dreams walked in, the sound of her beautiful heels clicking against the ground.

I couldn’t help the gasp, which escaped my lips as my eyes stayed glued to Lucia. She was just so beautiful and radiant that my heart rate sped up instantly.

She was dressed in a beautiful, formal light blue dress which hugged her in all the right places.

Her long hair, which I had the grand opportunity of running my fingers through just yesterday, was tied in a low bun, and on her lips was her signature red lipstick, which always drove me insane.

I wish she would kiss me with those lips right now and leave red lipstick marks all over my face. It was a fantasy that I was not sure I would ever be able to get rid of.

My eyes were completely glued to her skin, which was so clear and glowed from where she stood. She was so lovely and beautiful and I was extremely glad she was mine.

“Oh look. It’s the love of your life.” Ryan whispered in my ear, and I couldn’t help the blush which spread across my face.

“Oh, hush.” I said shyly, trying to hide my red ears and cheeks, but it was too late. My friends had already seen it, and I knew they were never going to let me live it down.

“Aw look at the lover boy. He is blushing.” Dean teased, which made me blush even more.

“Shut up.” I whisper-yelled, forcefully turning my attention back to Lucia.

“Wait a damn minute. Is she the reason you ignored us the entire weekend?” I heard Ryan say, and my head instantly shot towards him, a shocked expression crossing my features as he raised a brow.

Dean instantly gasped at that. “What the hell? She is, isn’t she?”

I let out an exasperated sigh, rolling my eyes. “Just shut up, you two. Just fucking shut up.”

Dean’s brows furrowed at me instantly. “I will shut up for now, but just know that this isn’t over.”

I waved my hand dismissively, letting out an exasperated sigh because I knew that my friends would not stop till they pried the information out of me and I woud have no choice but to tell them.

It was risky telling them, but they were my best friends in the entire world. They would never do anything to put me in jeopardy.

“Good morning everyone.” Lucia said, instantly jolting me out of my reverie in a lovely voice which nearly drove me to my knees as she placed her bag on the desk in front of the class.

“Good morning, Professor Darwin.” The rest of the class answered as she took out her materials from her bag.

Her eyes finally met mine and I felt like time stopped as we simply stared at each other. The urge to rush towards her and kiss her senseless was strong, but I managed to hold myself back.

We stared at each other and I was glad there was no sign of animosity or antagonism in her eyes anymore.

She cleared her throat loudly before looking away as she began the class. I could barely concentrate on what she was saying as I just kept staring at her with a dreamy look in my eyes.

It was such a bad idea to be in love with my professor and I knew it. How would I be able to pass her class if I barely heard a word of what she said when I was so smitten by her?

I let out an exasperated sigh, running my fingers through my hair. As much as I loved Lucia, I couldn’t let myself get distracted by her in class anymore.

I couldn’t afford to fail any courses. If I did, my father and brother would never let me hear the end of it which was something I tried to avoid as much as possible.

I squinted my eyes, trying to focus on the lecture, but I still couldn’t bring myself to because I kept getting entranced by Lucia’s beauty.

I was such a lost cause. Soon, the lecture ended and I had no idea it even had, till I began hearing chairs scraping against the ground as the students stood to their feet.

My first instinct was to go straight to Lucia, but it seemed like my friends were very eager to continue with our conversation.

“So, Jeremy,” Dean began. “We still have some unfinished business.” He said as I watched Lucia pack her stuff into her bag.

“Look, it’s definitely her. I know it is. You’ve barely taken your eyes off her for hours.” I heard Ryan protest next to me and I let out a long sigh before slowly turning to look at him.

“Ugh. Would you guys just stop? I already told you I was busy. Come on.” I said before turning back to Lucia.

I was disappointed to see that she had begun leaving the class, but when our eyes met, my heart instantly skipped a beat.

She turned away very quickly and I had no choice but to watch her leave.

“Look at him. He is doing it again.” Dean said and my head instantly shot towards him.

“I guess what he meant was he was busy with her.” Ryan whispered with a mischievous look on his face.

“I’m right here guys! And I was busy!” I exclaimed, feeling a surge of annoyance in my veins.

“And you expect us to just believe that? Don’t be ridiculous, Jeremy.” Ryan insisted and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes, tired of their shenanigans.

“Fine. I’ll tell you what I was really up to when we meet up with the rest.” I finally caved in, crossing my arms over my chest, a deep frown forming on my face.

Dean’s smile was wide and weird, exposing his pearly white teeth. “See? That wasn’t so hard now, was it?”

“Fuck off.” I shot out, rolling my eyes as I got up from my seat. Dean and Ryan let out loud laughs but I simply ignored them as I slung my backpack over my shoulders before making my way out of the class.

“Wait. Where are you going? We have a few hours free before our next class.” I heard Dean call out, but I did not look back at him.

“None of your business.” I shot back as I kept walking with a certain destination in mind. I already knew that we had a few hours free and I intended to spend as much time as I could with Lucia.
