Amelia's Point of View:

Osiris Walker and Verena Walker—both their names held power. "Osiris" means "God of death," while "Verena" means "to respect." Once again, I found myself pondering how my father got me into this world, but leaving it was going to be difficult.

"Father, mother, this is Amelia, my wife-to-be," Lucie declared loudly, ensuring they could hear him. Osiris turned towards me, his grey eyes, similar to Lucie's, staring at me before nodding his head. It was no surprise; everyone knew he seldom spoke to anyone except his wife. If she approved of me, that's when he would acknowledge me.

"Oh my, you are so beautiful!" Verena exclaimed with a smile. Before I knew it, I was in her arms as she jumped up and down with me. She certainly had lots of energy.

"Thank you so much, ma'am," I replied politely, giving her my best smile.

"Nonsense, call me Verena; you are my future daughter-in-law, so we must get to know each other!" she insisted, her kindness and sweetness shining thro
