Chloe’s POV

I woke up to silence.

Not the calm kind. The heavy kind that pressed against my chest and made it hard to breathe. The bed was too wide, the room too neat. The sheets still carried Drake’s scent, expensive soap mixed with something darker that refused to leave my skin.

He was not here.

I sat up slowly and pulled the sheet around my body. Morning light slipped through the tall curtains, pale and careful, as if it did not want to disturb me. For a few seconds, I forgot where I was. Then the memory returned.

The safe house.

I stood and stepped onto the cold floor. Everything in this room was perfect. Too perfect. The furniture was untouched. The carpet was spotless. Nothing here carried a past.

Except me.

I walked to the window and pulled the curtain aside slightly. Outside, the compound looked quiet and controlled. Two men stood near the gate, talking in low voices. When I moved, they stopped.

They did not look straight at me, but I knew they saw me.

I let the curtain fall.

  • Wet For Daddy    Chapter 28

Chloe’s POVI was sitting in the living room when Drake arrived.I did not hear the gate open. I did not hear the car. I only knew he was there when the energy in the house shifted. The guards outside straightened. Footsteps moved faster. Doors opened and closed with purpose.Mrs. Grace came in first.“He is here,” she said quietly. My chest tightened.I stood up slowly, smoothing my hands over my thighs. I had been wearing one of the simple dresses from the closet he provided. Soft fabric. Neutral color. Clothes that made it easy to forget I was not living my own life.Drake entered moments later. He looked tired. Not drunk like the last time. Not reckless. His face was hard. Focused. His jacket was still on. His jaw was tight. He did not kiss me.That alone told me everything.“We need to talk,” he said.I nodded. “I know.”He looked at me sharply. “What do you know?”“Jack was near my old apartment,” I replied. “He spoke to my sister.”His eyes darkened. “So he has already reached

  • Wet For Daddy    Chapter 27

Chloe’s POVI woke up with a heavy feeling in my chest. It was not pain. It was not illness. It was the kind of tightness that came from knowing something was wrong before you had proof. I lay still in bed for several minutes, staring at the ceiling, listening to the sounds of the house.Footsteps moved down the hallway at the same time they always did. A door opened softly. Somewhere downstairs, plates clinked. The routine had not changed, yet my body refused to relax.I got out of bed and walked to the window. Two guards stood near the gate. Another walked slowly along the fence line. One stood closer to the garden, his back straight, his eyes scanning the surroundings.Nothing looked unusual.Still, my hands trembled slightly as I pulled the curtain back into place.I dressed without caring much about how I looked and went downstairs. Mrs. Grace was already there, arranging flowers in a vase. She looked up when she saw me.“You are awake early,” she said.“I could not sleep,” I rep

  • Wet For Daddy    Chapter 26

Chloe’s POVMorning in the safe house had a rhythm.I noticed it on the third day.I woke before the sun, not because I wanted to, but because the house woke before me. Soft footsteps moved through the hallways. Doors opened and closed quietly. Somewhere downstairs, water ran. Somewhere else, metal touched metal in the kitchen. This house never truly slept.I sat up in bed and looked at the clock. Six fifteen.Right on time.By six thirty, Mrs. Grace knocked gently on my door.“Good morning, my dear,” she said when I opened it. “Did you sleep well?”“Yes,” I replied automatically. She smiled, but her eyes searched my face. “Breakfast will be ready soon. You may come down whenever you are ready.”“Thank you,” I said. She nodded and walked away, her steps steady and practiced. I dressed slowly and went downstairs. The dining table was already set. Perfectly. Plates aligned. Cutlery polished. A small vase of fresh flowers sat at the center, changed daily. I knew that because the flowers

  • Wet For Daddy    Chapter 25

Chloe’s POVIt was past midnight when I felt it.Not a sound. Not footsteps. Just a shift in the air.I opened my eyes slowly, my body already reacting before my mind caught up. The room was dim, lit only by the soft lamp near the bed. Then I saw him.Drake.He stood near the door, jacket off, shirt slightly undone, his presence filling the room like a storm that had been waiting all night to break.“You are awake,” he said quietly.“I am now,” I replied, pushing myself up on the bed.He walked closer, slow and deliberate, his eyes fixed on me. There was something heavy in his gaze tonight. Not hunger alone. Something darker. Something tighter.“You did not sleep,” I said.“I did not come to sleep,” he replied. My breath caught. He stopped at the side of the bed and looked down at me. “You look restless.”“I am,” I said honestly. He reached out and brushed his fingers along my cheek. “I have been watching the cameras.”I stiffened slightly. “You watch me sleep?”“Sometimes,” he said.

  • Wet For Daddy    Chapter 24

Chloe’s POVThe phone felt heavier than it should have.I stared at the screen for a long time before answering. I knew it was Hilda before I even saw her name. She had been calling more often since the night I disappeared. The first call had been full of panic. This one would be different. This one would be sharper. I took a deep breath and answered. “Hi, Hil.”“Chloe,” she said immediately. “Where are you?”Her voice was calm, but I knew her too well. That calm meant she was holding something back.“I told you,” I said softly. “I am fine.”“That was yesterday,” she replied. “And you said it very fast. You did not even let me ask questions.”I walked slowly across the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed. The room was quiet except for my breathing.“I was tired,” I said. “Everything happened so quickly.”“Chloe,” Hilda said. “Look at me. No, listen to me. You do not just disappear. You do not leave your phone behind. You do not stop coming home without saying anything.”I closed my
