I could not sleep well that night. The meeting with the Rossi family kept playing in my head. Those cold eyes. The threats. I finally got up when the first light touched the windows. I walked to the library and tried to read but the words blurred.

Lena found me there later. The maid carried a fresh cup of tea. "You look tired Miss Scarlett. The meeting yesterday shook everyone."

"Did Jace sleep at all?" I asked.

Lena shook her head. "He stayed in the office until four in the morning. Marco told me the Rossi family is spreading rumors in the city. They are saying Jace has gone soft because of a woman."

I felt guilty even though none of this was my fault. I was the reason for new problems.

Marco appeared at the door. "Boss wants to see you in the garden."

Jace was already there when I arrived. He looked powerful in his black shirt but I could see tiredness around his eyes. He didn’t smile.

"We need to talk seriously," he said. "The situation is getting worse faster than I expected."

We walked along the stone path. Guards were everywhere now. More than before.

"The Rossi family lost a big shipment last month because of my people," Jace explained. "They want revenge. And they believe if they take you they can break me."

I stopped walking. "Then let me go. Send me back. It will solve your problem."

Jace turned to me sharply. "Never. You are not leaving. Not now. Not ever."

His words were hard but his eyes showed something else. Fear. Not for himself but for me.

"I have enemies Scarlett. Many. But I also have power. I built this empire with blood and intelligence. I will not lose it. And I will not lose you."

We continued walking. Jace told me more about his world. How he took control after his father died. How he made alliances and destroyed rivals. How he became the man everyone feared.

"But you were different," he said quietly. "The first time I saw you helping that old woman in the bookstore I felt something I had not felt in years. Something clean."

I listened without speaking. I was starting to see the full picture of Jace. A man shaped by violence and loss who now held onto me like a lifeline.

Back in the house Jace received a phone call. His face changed while he listened. When he hung up he looked at me.

"They took one of my clubs last night. Burned it. Two of my men are in hospital."

I felt real fear now. Not just for myself but for him too.

Jace called Marco and gave quick orders. More guards. New security systems. Plans to strike back carefully.

After the meeting Jace came to me again. "I want you to learn some basic rules. If anything happens you must listen to Marco or Lena immediately. No questions."

He spent the next hour teaching me small things. How to use the emergency button in my room. Which parts of the house were safest. How to recognize danger signals.

I felt like I was training for war.

In the evening Lena brought dinner to my room. We ate together. Lena shared a little about her own life. How she lost her husband and now worked to support her daughter.

"You are stronger than you think Miss Scarlett," Lena said. "I see how you watch everything. How you listen. Use that."

After dinner I sat by the window again. I wrote another letter in my mind to my family. Words I wished I could send. Words about fear and strange new feelings I didn’t understand.

Jace came to check on me before midnight. He stood at the door.

"The Rossi family will not stop easily," he said. "But I have faced worse. Stay strong Scar. I need you strong."

For the first time I answered with honesty. "I am scared Jace. Not just for me. For all of us."

He nodded. "Fear is normal. But I will protect what is mine."

He left without another word. The door locked behind him.

I lay in bed thinking about everything. My old life felt farther away now. The mansion no longer felt like just a prison. It felt like the center of a coming storm.

Outside the walls the Rossi family gathered more allies. Inside the mansion plans were made and lines were drawn. I was no longer just a kidnapped girl. I had become part of the war.

And deep down I knew the hardest choices were still coming.

The safe room felt smaller than before. I paced back and forth while distant gunshots echoed through the walls. Lena sat in the corner looking pale. Marco stood by the door like a statue, his hand resting on his gun."How long will this last?" I asked.Marco did not answer immediately. "Boss knows what he is doing. He has faced attacks before."Minutes turned into hours. The sounds of fighting slowly faded. My heart never stopped racing. I kept imagining Jace getting hurt. Or worse. Finally the door opened. Jace walked in. His shirt had blood on the sleeve but he moved normally. I ran to him without thinking."Are you okay?" I asked.Jace nodded. He looked tired but victorious. "We pushed them back. Two of their men are dead. One is captured. My people are fine."He sat down heavily. Lena quickly brought water and a first aid kit. While she cleaned the cut on his arm Jace explained what happened."The Rossi family sent a small team to test our defenses. They wanted to see if they coul

I woke up to the sound of shouting. It was not the usual calm morning in the mansion. I jumped out of bed and rushed to the window. Several black cars were parked near the main gate. Guards were running with guns in their hands. Something was very wrong.Lena burst into the room without knocking. Her face was pale. "Miss Scarlett, stay inside. There was an attack on one of Jace's warehouses. They are saying the Rossi family did it. Boss is furious."My heart pounded. I quickly changed into comfortable clothes and waited. Minutes felt like hours. Finally Marco came to get me."Boss wants you in the safe room downstairs," he said. His voice was tight. "Do not leave until he says so."The safe room was like a small apartment underground. Thick walls. No windows. A couch, television, and small kitchen area. I sat on the couch and tried to stay calm. But my mind was racing. Was Jace okay? Was this because of me?After almost two hours the door opened. Jace walked in. His shirt had a small

The next day the mansion felt different. Tension hung in the air like smoke. I could hear more guards moving outside. Cars arrived early in the morning. I stayed in my room as Jace ordered.Lena brought her lunch and stayed for a few minutes. "The Rossi men are here. Jace looks ready for war. Be very careful today."I paced the room. I hated feeling helpless. Hours passed slowly. Finally the door opened. Marco stood there."Boss wants you downstairs," he said. "Stay quiet and close to him."I followed Marco down the stairs. My heart beat fast. In the large meeting room Jace sat at the head of a long table. Three men sat opposite him. They looked dangerous. Expensive suits but cold eyes. The oldest man smiled when he saw me. "So this is the famous girl. The one you stole."Jace's voice became ice cold. "Her name is Scarlett. She is not part of our business. Speak about the deal or leave."The man laughed. "Everything is business Jace. You took money from us. Now you hide this pretty th

  • Wet For Him   Shadows Approaching

I woke up early. The mansion was quiet. I stood by the window and looked at the tall trees outside. Another day as a prisoner. I wondered if my family had received the letter. Were they still searching or had they started to believe I ran away? Lena brought breakfast. She looked nervous today. She set the tray down and spoke in a low voice. "Miss Scarlett, there is tension in the house. The Rossi family sent a message. They want a meeting with Jace. They are angry about lost money and they mentioned you." I felt fear in my stomach. "What do they want with me?" "They think you are his weakness," Lena replied. "Be careful. These men are dangerous." After breakfast Marco came to take me to the garden again. Jace was not there. Marco stood at a distance while I walked among the flowers. The fresh air helped me think clearly. I remembered my old life. Waking up in my small apartment. Drinking coffee with my mother before work. Helping Emma with homework. Simple things that now felt l

  • Wet For Him   The Waiting Game

I spent the morning in the library again. I tried to read but my mind kept wandering. The letter to my family had been sent yesterday. I wondered if they believed it. I imagined my mother crying while reading the words. My father sitting quietly with worry in his eyes. Emma asking questions no one could answer. The not knowing hurt more than anything. Lena brought breakfast on a tray. The maid looked around carefully before speaking in a low voice. "Your family has been on the news Miss Scarlett. They are still searching. The police came to your apartment." My heart jumped. "Did they say anything else?" Lena shook her head. "Only that you disappeared after work. Be strong. Many girls in this house before you lost themselves completely." Lena left quickly after that. I sat with the food untouched. I felt trapped between two worlds. One I knew and loved. Another that was slowly pulling me in with comfort and fear. Marco appeared at the door. "Boss wants you in the garden." I fol
