Isla~

"You kidnapped the mayor’s son?"

My voice rang out, sharp and accusing, cutting through the air like a blade.

The room went still. All eyes turned to me, his men seated around the living room in a loose circle, cigars half-smoked, whiskey glasses halfway raised.

Dante sat at the center, relaxed in a high-backed leather chair like a king among pawns. His cold, unreadable gaze lifted to meet mine.

A flicker of amusement ghosted across his face before he spoke.

"Leave us."

No one hesitated. Not a word was exchanged. Chairs scraped quietly across the marble floor, men stood, nodded, and exited in silence. The last one closed the door behind him, leaving just the two of us in a room thick with tension.

I stood near the entrance, breathing hard, my heart hammering in my chest. He hadn't denied it. He couldn't dare.

The air itself told me everything I needed to know.

I took a step forward.

Then another.

Each footfall echoed faintly, matching the pounding in my ears.

I didn't understa

  • What The Don Wants   Give it back

Dante~Mayor Alaric.I watched him from the tinted window of my car, as he paced restlessly. He was no doubt waiting for my arrival, afraid for the life of his only son.Good.That's what greed gets you.He should have looked away. He shouldn't have attempted to take what belongs to me."Boss!" Miguel, my driver called out to me."Shall I go over there and invite him in?" "There'll be no need for that." I said to him, letting out a small sigh."I'll step out to meet him myself."I had to. I wanted to understand what gave him so much guts to mess with me.Miguel took the hint, hurriedly stepping out and rushing to open the door for me.This seemed to attract Alaric's attention and his wide eyes landed on me as soon as I stepped out of the car.The fear that earlier reflected on his face was now transformed into anger as he marched towards me with heavy, uncoordinated strides.I watched him, a smirk tugging at the corner of my lips."You bastard!" He seethedAnd in an instant, his fis

Isla~"Don't let that darkness swallow him too.""Especially now that he has so much power in his hands.""The world will burn…" "And it will be all your fault."El Diablo's words continued to haunt me like a damn plague, even after three nights. It all felt like some ill-fated prophecy that was more closer to coming to pass than I realized.I could tell for a matter of fact that Dante had found something back there in Sicily. Those coordinates, they must have led him somewhere...to something. And now, he had "so much power in his hands".Enough!I wasn't going to sit around doing nothing anymore. My curiosity and anxiety was already eating deep inside me.It felt like the longer I stayed silent, the more room I give him to carry out whatever ominous plan he had in mind.I threw the cover off my body, jumping off the bed and heading straight for the door. I ran down the stairs like a woman on fire, bare feet padding rapidly against the marble. The silence of the mansion had been gna

  • What The Don Wants   Home

Dante~"Let me guess..." Vargo whispered, sneaking up behind me like the little pest he was born to be.I swear I should have left him behind.I turned slightly, already irritated, only to catch the amused grin stretched across his face."You both didn't make out last night."I rolled my eyes as he chuckled at his own stupid joke."Shut up, Vargo."He was clearly referring to Isla, who had been shooting me occasional dirty glances ever since we boarded the private flight. The kind of glances that said she wanted to punch me in the throat. I wasn't sure if I wanted to laugh or be concerned.Today, we were heading back to Vegas. She hadn't said a single word to me since we got on board. Instead, she had sat herself between Kayla and Katya and had been giggling and chatting with them like we didn't just have a fight last night. And like I didn't catch her sitting outside with El Diablo after she stormed off. That last bit stayed with me more than I wanted to admit. What the hell had they

  • What The Don Wants   Darkness

Isla~The air was thick with tension and the smoke from El Diablo's cigar as he sat right beside me without saying a word.I shifted awkwardly in my seat, fidgeting with the hem of my blouse and looking anywhere but at him.Just a few hours ago, I had stormed the church, aiming a gun at him. And here he was, sitting beside me and having a smoke like it was the most normal thing. The infamous El Diablo. But for some reason, he didn't scare me. I was just a little uncomfortable, uncertain. He suddenly let out a sigh, relaxing back on the bench."You know..." He said, casually putting out his cigar."...you remind me so much of Sera's mother."I blinked. What now?!"She was also a ginger. The most fierce woman I ever knew." He chuckled, a nostalgic look in his eyes.It was almost like I was imagining things. "The first woman to ever defy me, point a gun at me." El Diablo said, finally turning to look at me." Nice." I muttered awkwardly, not really knowing how to react to that piece inf

  • What The Don Wants   Avoidance

Isla~I thought the chaos was over. Apparently, I thought wrong."Hold her still, dammit!" Vargo barked over Katya's screeching."I’m trying!” I gritted, arms hooked beneath Katya's armpits, wrestling her flailing body against the couch.Kayla was struggling on the other side, both hands locked around Katya's good arm while trying not to get elbowed in the face. "She's gonna take my eye out, I swear to God...""Get off me, you vultures!" Katya screamed, bucking her hips as if possessed. "Let me die in peace!""Die later, bitch...after the bullet comes out." Kayla snapped, biting down on a yelp when Katya's boot clipped her shin.I tried not to laugh at the scene.Vargo knelt over her shoulder, brow furrowed and hands stained with blood. The bullet wound was angry and deep, still oozing despite the pressure bandage he'd removed a few minutes ago."We're almost there," he muttered, holding the forceps steady. "It's lodged under the muscle. Stay still or more damages will be done.""I'l
