I frowned at Anna.
“What do you mean she’s waiting in my office?”
“She insisted and since the merger….” I face palmed.
“You know better Anna. The merger is with the Hale group, not Mrs Hale.
“I’m sorry” she mumbled but I was already walking past her into my office.
Flora was seated on the couch, legs crossed like she owned the place. Pushing the irritation edging to the surface, I plastered a smile on my face.
“Good morning Mrs Hale,” I said, rounding the table to take my seat.

LeenaMy heart thumped in my chest and I carried Revna away. Vivian, Vera, and Alfred were waiting.“You took a while”“I ran into some people I knew” Vivian looked at me but nodded. We filed into the car, Vivian, Revna and I going in one while Alfred and Vera followed in the other. When we arrived, Vera took Revna upstairs while I sat with Vivian.“Let’s go through the names” I said, bringing out the list I’d marked earlier.“I’ll run through the names and see if there’s anything I can find”“How long will that take?” she shrugged.“I have no idea. I have a
Leena“Revna” I called as I walked closer to them and Mrs. Hale looked me up and down.“You are her mother”It was more of a statement than a question and I nodded.“Yes”“Oh….” She set her down and Revna walked over to me.“You remember me though?” she asked after a moment of terse silence.“Mrs. Hale” she shook her head.“That belongs to my son’s wife now. You can call me Bertha” giving each other first names now? What was she up to and what was she doing in a place like th
LeenaAt my words, tears spilled from her eyes.“She remembers you too” Martha said but I shook my head.“No… I-I saw you outside my house” I looked at Vivian for help. I didn’t have my memories but I remembered this woman outside my house, and she was supposed to be the nurse who looked after me and had a hand in what could be the theft of my child. It couldn’t be a coincidence.“The accident left her like this. Unable to speak” I felt pity for her even though I probably shouldn’t. She struggled to speak and Martha drew closer, taking her hands. She made a strange gesture in Mar
LeenaVera agreed immediately I spoke to her. Somehow, Vivian managed to get an early flight to the city. She also picked her up from the airport. Shortly after that, Vivian's friend Alfred also arrived. I sent a message to Anna who was updating me about the office."Miss Kensington" I heard Vivian's voice from outside my home office and I stepped out to meet her."Call me Leena please. I think we are way past the formalities. She nodded and I went downstairs with her. Alfred was tall with an intimidating build. Also looked pretty difficult to take down in a fight."Good afternoon" I greeted politely and he responded with a smile.
LeenaI frowned at that. Her words didn’t make sense.“All of them?” she nodded.“Well, except Dr. Horace failed to give us every single name. From what I have here” she pointed to the list “And here” she pointed to the other list. “Each one of them stopped working after your discharge. The longest was a week after your discharge”“That means…..”“Someone must have paid them off or forced them to stop working. Considering the possibility that your baby was stolen after your discharge, it’s highly suspicious that they left” I sighed.“What can we do now?”“We have to speak to them as soon
