Chapter 1

Author: Moore
The moment Drew brought Laura and her daughter, Anne, along, I knew today wasn’t going to go smoothly.

Laura was in a beautiful white dress. She held Anne’s hand as they walked toward us.

“Sienna, Drew told me you personally invited me on this trip. Thank you so much!”

Laura smiled gently, but there was a clear look of challenge in her eyes.

She knew perfectly well I would never have invited her.

Drew loaded her luggage into the trunk and opened the rear door, only to freeze in place.

Two unfamiliar young werewolves were already sitting in the empty seats.

One of Drew’s friends scratched his head awkwardly and said, “Sorry, Drew. These are my two younger brothers. They joined at the last minute. I didn’t know you were bringing guests.”

Drew’s expression darkened. He didn’t say a word. The friend quickly stepped forward to make his brothers leave, but Laura stopped him.

“They’re at the age when they would enjoy a trip like this. Don’t make them leave.”

Laura lowered her head slightly.

“In that case, Anne and I won’t go. I hope you all have a great trip,” she said solemnly.

She started to walk away, but after just a few steps, she turned back and looked at Drew.

“Drew, Anne was really looking forward to the fireworks at the amusement park. Since we can’t go, could you at least send her some photos and videos of the fireworks later?”

Drew hesitated. Then, seeing the hopeful look in little Anne’s eyes, he seemed to make up his mind. He walked over to my side of the car, opened the door, and dragged me out.

“Sienna, there aren’t enough seats, and Laura has her daughter with her. Just let them go first. I’ll come back for you later, alright?”

My eyes went wide open. I couldn’t believe that he was really going to leave me by the road.

He turned away, avoiding my gaze, and said firmly, “There’s no time to get another car. Be good and just wait here a while. I’ll be back soon.”

Maybe I looked too pitiful, because the two young werewolves got out of the car too. Their eyes were filled with sympathy and a touch of guilt.

“Sienna, you take the seat. We’ll stay behind,” one of them said.

I looked straight into Drew’s eyes, hoping to see just a flicker of hesitation.

But his gaze was calm and indifferent. It was as if it didn’t matter whether I stayed or the two young werewolves stayed.

I lowered my head to hide my hurt feelings and quietly grabbed my suitcase.

“You all go ahead. It’s fine.”

I gently pushed the two young werewolves back into the car and stepped aside with my luggage.

Before they drove off, Laura, holding Anne, waved smugly at me.

Through the window, I saw Drew’s profile. He didn’t even glance back at me.

It was as if the person being kicked out was just some unimportant stranger.

During the three-hour ride to the amusement park, Laura posted ten updates on her Instagram, including scenery along the way and Drew’s handsome profile while driving.

In the comments, someone asked, “Laura, is that your mate? He’s so hot!”

Laura didn’t respond. She just posted an emoji of embarrassment.

Halfway through, Drew called me once. He told me to stay right where I was and wait for him to come back.

But the sun was scorching. My skin started to burn under the heat. It wouldn't be long before I became dehydrated and exhausted.

Still, I didn’t say a word. I even agreed.

That was because I wanted to see if Drew would actually keep his promise.

Drew recovered in record time and rushed over to see me, but it didn’t take long before he heard I was getting married. The smile disappeared from his face, and an overwhelming sadness swallowed him whole.“N-No way! Sienna, I love you. Can’t you give me just one more chance?”I shook my head and told him once again, “I’ve already found my fated mate. We’re having our marking ceremony in a few days.”Drew staggered back a few steps, barely steadying himself. He didn’t come any closer. He quietly turned and walked away. His frail silhouette faded into the bleak autumn.Word spread quickly that an Alpha from the Silvermist Pack was holding a grand marking ceremony.Only then did people realize that I had become a Luna.Relatives and family friends all came forward to congratulate my family, praising them for raising such an outstanding daughter. But I had already moved out of the villa, far away from their lives. After leaving the healer's cabin, I saw Jake. He had matured a lot over the past three years. At the very least, when he saw me, he no longer looked at me with disgust as he did before.“You disappeared for three years without a word, Sienna. That’s pretty bold of you.”His tone then softened slightly.“Come home with me. Mom and Dad really miss you.”I was planning to go home anyway, so I got in the car with him. When we pulled up to the house, we saw Laura standing outside with Anne. For some reason, they hadn’t gone inside. The moment Jake’s car rolled into the driveway, Laura rushed over.“Jake, let me explain, it wasn’t me! Please don’t make us leave.”When she saw me stepping out of the car, a look of shock crossed her face.“You? What are you doing back? You walked out without a second thought, now what? Crawling back like a leech?”Her voice was filled with resentment. It sounded as if she might lunge at me any second and tear me apart.Jake stepped in front of me

After leaving home, I returned to the place where I had grown up. I ran into many familiar faces.None of them recognized me as the young stray werewolf who once survived by scavenging, alone and unwanted. All they knew was that I came from a major pack and that I was an excellent trainer.Using the allowance my father once gave me, I built a cub training center in this pack. Here, the cubs’ bright smiles and the warmth and sincerity of the pack members were contagious.Their energy made me feel like I truly belonged. For the first time, I wanted to settle down in one place.A week after I arrived, I sent Drew a message and ended things with him. After that, I stopped checking any messages from anyone.Every day, I threw myself into training with the cubs. Before long, I had completely moved on from the Silvermist Pack, including my parents, Jake, and even Drew. That’s when I realized, even without them, there were still people in this world who loved me.I didn’t need to beg

While still holding the torn wedding gown in his arms, Drew went upstairs and walked straight to my room. The moment he pushed the door open, he could hardly believe what he was seeing. The room was completely empty. It had been transformed into a dance studio. My bed, my clothes, and even the faintest trace of me were gone.Drew clutched his chest. He felt a sharp ache inside. He had always known I wasn't valued in this family, but he never imagined I could be dismissed so completely.I had only been gone for a month, and I couldn’t even keep my own room.Suddenly, he understood how helpless and heartbroken I must have felt the day he abandoned me and left with Laura and Anne. With that understanding came a deep wave of guilt and resentment. What kind of life had I been living all these years? With a grim expression, Drew turned and left the room. He ran into Jake.“Sienna’s your biological sister, isn’t she?”That was all he said before walking away.Jake looked into what

Unable to convince his parents, Drew came to my house to beg my family instead. It was Anne who opened the door for him.As soon as she saw him, she reached out her arms and wanted Drew to hold her, but Drew was in no mood for that now.He simply patted her on the head and gestured for her to go play on her own.The living room was a mess with discarded items piled high.Amidst the mess, Drew spotted the moonsilk curtains I had handpicked. It was tossed in with the trash. He looked closer, recognizing them as the ones that had been hung in my bedroom. He shouted at a maid, Louisa.“Who told you to touch Sienna’s stuff?”His yell startled Anne, who immediately burst into tears.Jake, who had just returned home, witnessed this scene.“Drew, what the hell’s wrong with you?”He scooped Anne into his arms, gently wiped her tears away, and soothed her.Louisa looked wronged.“Miss Laura gave them to me to throw out,” she complained.Drew’s expression turned solemn. He said not

At lunchtime, when I still hadn’t returned, Eliza's expression darkened. In this household, etiquette was a big deal. Mealtimes were fixed, and everyone was expected to be at the table on time.It was a family tradition.“Sienna’s still not back? She only went to get something for Laura. What’s taking her so long?” Eliza was clearly irritated and couldn’t help but complain.Jake chimed in, fanning the flames.“I bet she’s doing it on purpose. She can’t stand how well we treat Laura, so she’s making us wait on her. She’s just that petty.”“Enough. Sienna is your sister. Stop picking on her,” Dad said, putting down his newspaper and giving Jake a cold glare. Then he turned to Eliza.“Drew said he went to look for her. They’re probably together now.”Eliza still looked upset.“Forget it. We’ll eat without them.”Meanwhile, Drew had made a special trip to the auction house. He spent the entire day bidding on a pricey moonstone necklace just to surprise me.When he tried to call,

While I stood frozen, Laura suddenly pinched Anne hard right in front of me.Anne burst into tears. My mother, Eliza, came rushing out of her room. She immediately cradled Anne in her arms with a look of concern.“Sienna, have you had enough? They’ve already apologized. What more do you want? Laura knows you don’t like her. That’s why she moved out. Even after she severed her mate bond, she didn’t dare come back to live here. Isn’t that enough for you?”She yanked Drew away from me, glared at me sharply, and then turned to him.“Don’t bother with her. You’ve spoiled her too much. She’s always throwing tantrums!”Laura’s eyes welled up with tears as she looked at Eliza.“Mom, it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have come back. I know Sienna doesn’t like me.”Just then, my younger brother, Jake, burst in through the door. He shoved me aside and shielded Laura behind him.“Sienna, you’ve been picking on Laura just because Mom and Dad feel guilty toward you. Well, let me tell you, Laura is

  • When Love Steps Aside   Chapter 3

Drew drove back to the place where he’d left me the day before. Morning sunlight now filtered through the trees by the road. The mist had not yet fully lifted. There was no one in sight on the empty road.At that moment, a wave of panic filled him.It felt like he had lost something incredibly important. That feeling only intensified when he read the message I’d sent.Back at the villa, I was packing my things. I was aching inside and on the verge of tears.I had already decided to let go of this relationship, yet my heart still hurt so much.Drew called, but I didn’t answer. I just stared at the screen as it lit up and dimmed again. The man who once promised to protect me for life had chosen Laura over me.When I was a child, I went missing and wandered for years. I wasn’t found by my family until I was ten.By then, there was already another girl at home about the same age as me.I stood in the living room, filthy from years on the street, and looked up at Laura, who stood

I waited for three full hours by the road.Eventually, I grew tired and took shelter under a nearby canopy. When night finally fell, all I got was a video update from Laura. In the video, a full moon rose to the sky. Drew was holding Laura’s arm tightly while he helped her light the firework in her hands.Laughter echoed in the background. It was followed by someone shouting.“Drew, aren’t you going to pick Sienna up? The feast at the amusement park is about to begin. She’s going to miss it!”Drew’s hand froze mid-motion. Laura’s firework slipped from her grip and fell to the ground. He looked torn. After a long silence, he picked up the firework and finally muttered, “It’ll be fine if I’m late. Sienna is understanding. She won’t get mad.”I stopped the video before it even finished playing because I already knew he wasn’t coming back for me.The amusement park was only three hours from home, but eight hours had gone by, and he still hadn’t shown up.I slowly stood, slipped o
