LOGINElana Moonstone
As I watched his retreating back, I couldn't help but feel like my life was about to take a different course, but still, I couldn't let it bother me. My only thought bordered on reclaiming my place in my pack, a place I had foolishly traded in blind trust.
"Elana, where did you go? I have been looking everywhere for you" I heard Rowan's voice from behind me and shifted my gaze to him. He looked different; he was beginning to resemble the very monster he was acting as.
"You brought me here to humiliate me, you have successfully done that, can't I at least, get a few moments to be alone? Or don't you want the humiliation to wash over me better?" I asked him sarcastically as I moved farther away from him.
"Come with me. We have to get introduced to the Lycan King. He was requested to meet all the smaller packs to discuss with them" he said emotionlessly, almost like he had brought me here to grant him access one last time before dumping me.
"Okay," I responded tonelessly and made my way past him, taking care not to let my body brush against his.
As soon as I got inside, I could feel a pair of eyes boring into my back, but each time I took a quick sweep of the room, there seemed to be no one there paying keen attention to me. The women pooled up in a corner and judged me but, even their malicious stares didn't burn nearly as hot as these eyes. After a few attempts, I gave up and focused on finishing this show of shame so I could return to Moonfang Pack.
"With all respect, I present to you the great Lycan King, King Luca!" A man's voice rang out, and everyone immediately took their rightful positions, and all the side talks stopped.
His aura was different, it was almost like I could hear the cackling of flames around him. He didn't just command respect, he gave off the energy that we owed him respect. Almost like we didn't have any other choice. He was exactly like I had heard of, ruthless and untouchable.
For a second, our eyes met. He stared at me, like he was looking right into my heart. I felt the pain of the betrayal boil up my throat, threatening to choke me. I coughed violently and everyone's attention turned to me. King Luca's eyes were fixed on me and for some weird reason, it only made me more self-conscious.
"Pull yourself together, you are going to get us kicked out of this place" Rowan's harsh whisper filtered its way into my ears. I tried to curtail it but it only got worse and my eyes began to water painfully.
"Here" I heard a calm, steady voice say as a handkerchief appeared in front of me. I grabbed it and wiped my eyes before looking up to thank the one who had offered.
King Luca.
My hands froze in place but he simply gave me a quiet nod and returned to his throne. Rowan had an angry look on his face, that seemed to be directed at me but he moved close to me to say something else.
"If any of these goes wrong, I will not spare you. This is not about you or whatever is going on between us anymore. Pull yourself together" he warned and walked away from me, leaving me alone.
The meeting went by fast and before I knew it, I was standing behind Rowan, bowing to the King. He had his eyes fixed on me, almost as if he could not hear the ramblings Rowan was making.
"...and with that my king, I really hope that the Moonfang Pack gets to experience this act of kindness that you are extending to everyone" Rowan finished, even though I had not heard a word of what he had said.
"But the Moonfang Pack is ruled by a Luna? A Moonstone?" King Luca asked, his forehead twisted in a grimace.
Rowan was immediately unsettled by that question, he yanked me forward with a quiet gentleness, that was firm. I nearly stumbled but I took it all in and moved forward, bowing slightly to him.
"She is here your Highness. You see, she relinquished her position to me a few months ago, we both decided that it was best for me to rule since I was a better leader than she will ever be" Rowan said and my face twisted in disgust.
It was hard to believe that I had trusted someone so vile all of these years. All I had ever been to him was simply a stepping stone to his end goal, which was to take the mantle of leadership away from me.
"Hmmm," King Luca said and didn't say anything else. His eyes washed over me almost as if he was saying that he had not expected me to be that stupid. I swallowed the feeling of self-loathing and stood tall, my back straightening as the humiliation threatened to bend me.
"Thank you very much my king. We do hope to have you in our pack soon enough" one of the other Alphas said and the king nodded his head, his eyes not leaving mine for a second.
I shifted uncomfortably and took a sip of the drink that I had been handed by one of the maids at the party. The warm liquid tasted like disappointment and no sooner had I started, I dropped the cup for lack of interest.
Suddenly, someone pulled me roughly and dragged me to the balcony. Rowan was acting crazily and I didn't know what exactly I had done for him to start throwing a fit.
"What do you think you are doing? Putting us out there like that in the face of everyone? Do you want them to think that we do not have any structure?" He hissed angrily at me, his voice carrying more venom than a viper.
"How have I done that? You have made it your sole mission to embarrass and humiliate me here, do not think that I will let you hold me to Ransom" I fired back.
He raised his hands, my eyes flashed in the brief moment but I didn't scoot back. I closed my eyes and half expected the string of his palm, but it didn't come.
"You wouldn't dare!" King Luca's voice sounded through gritted teeth as we all froze.
LyraElara was even more stupid than I had thought that she could ever be; walking in there knowing that she was pregnant and without her wolf was her choosing the path of death. She knew that from the moment she agreed with herself to do this that she was ready to die, and even though she had come by herself, I would still glory in the fact that I knew that this would all work out. The elders had begun to show me more respect after she left, knowing that I was the new queen, and the supreme leader already told them that I would not take it easy on whoever was not on board with the program. I thought about how far I have come and how something that had seemed so unachievable was now only a few hours away from fruition. I shook my head and wanted to break into a run, but I held myself back as I made my way back to the bedroom, desperate to tell George about the pleasant turn of events. It would take so much burden off my shoulders, and I would not be doing anything wrong anymore; I wo
Elara Moonstone I stood there as they all looked at me like they couldn't believe their eyes. Even the guards couldn't move, and Lyra's eyes looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets. I walked confidently inside, supported by Antonio and a makeshift walking stick. One that Anna had thrown together for me. "What are you doing here, you crazy woman?" One of the district elders spoke, his voice filled with rage. "I am still the queen; you will not speak to me in such a manner, I said and walked to the other end of the table, sitting at the top, facing Lyra directly. Antonio stood behind me, his hands crossed at his back as he bared his teeth at anyone who looked at me for too long. "What are you looking for?" Lyra asked me, her voice sending ripples of fear down my spine. "I have come to take what is mine. You know you are nothing but a mere impostor" I told her, and she clutched the edge of the table to control her rage. "How dare you?" She snapped at me, but I didn'
Lyra"Damn those wretched fools!" I moaned in frustration as I marched to the room; this was the second meeting we were having, and they were insistent on some stupid customs that guided them. "What is wrong with you?" George asked me as soon as I stepped inside the room. He got up and made his way to me, leading me by the hand to sit at the edge of the bed. His hands immediately started massaging the knots on my shoulders, and I found myself relaxing in his touch. "The elders are still being hardheaded about making me queen," I told him, admitting my plan for the first time. He looked at me, but no emotion passed between his eyes. "I would have loved to suggest other things you could do, but it would not be my place to do so; whatever you make up your mind to do would work just fine" he said, and that interested me. I turned, pulling away from his magical hands working on my shoulder. "Tell me what you think; I would love to hear your thoughts" I urged him to speak his mind. "Y
Elara Moonstone "Elara!" I heard a quiet voice call out my name, pulling me into a world I knew I had no business being in right now. When I opened my eyes, I knew that I wasn't in the world that I used to know. This was very different, and the energy here seems to be filling me with more strength than I have been able to muster since I lost my wolf. "Where am I?" I managed to ask and forced myself to sit up. A woman was standing in front of me, but it looked as if she was made from light, so she was difficult to look at. "Elara, my blessed one. You have been through so much and have only gotten little reward from all of your hard work. I didn't plan for it to be so terrible in this lifetime, but even you have a part to play in ensuring your path is made of fewer obstacles." She said, and undoubtedly, I knew I was in the presence of the moon goddess. "My goddess" I said and fell flat on my face, her aura overwhelming me as I found myself bursting into tears. She looked at me with
Elara Moonstone It was nearly nightfall the next day, and Anna was not yet back. My mind was everywhere, and every minute was met with a giant reduction in my strength. Time was running out, and so was my patience. Without thinking twice, I struggled to the bedroom, limping as I went to get something better to wear. My child stirred in my stomach, and I clutched it to prevent myself from passing out from the pain that shot through my whole body. I didn't know what I would do when all of these blew over, but one thing I had become sure of was that I wanted to keep my baby even if it would cost me my life. Just then, there was a rattling on the door, and I rushed to it as fast as I could. It was definitely Anna and Maera; no one else would be able to figure out the door if it wasn't someone who had been here before. With all of my strength, I lifted the hatch, and Maera's body rolled in, followed closely by Anna, who was as dusty as the pathways in the forest. "Oh, Anna!" I moaned a
Lyra "What do you mean by you can't make me queen yet? How does that even sound to you? Your former king is nowhere to be found, and the queen has probably gone crazy. Why won't you still crown me?" I barked at the district head elders as they all looked at me like I was the one who had gone crazy. "You are not even a royal member or a Lycan. Those two things are important, and you should know that we are not trying to delay the process any further. We told you your best bet would be to marry George since you said he was the illegitimate son of the late king. We have agreed with that and won't even go through the hassle of checking due process, but we cannot insult our customs like that and expect others to give us the same respect that we have commanded all these years. We are only trying to help you so that your reign remains unquestionable." One of the elders, whom I was sure was a loyalist of mine, said, "I do not want to marry anyone and time is running out fast. I was hoping t
Elara Moonstone My bones were unusually weak by the time I was done with training. It felt as though something was draining the raw strength inside me; twice Ceci had to pause to give me some water after I had my training potions in the morning. "Don't you think we should call it a day now?" I as
MaeraAntonio was already waiting for me when I got to his place. It was a beautiful four-bedroom in the heart of the city, one that gave a view of something unseen before. He was drinking a bottle of American Honey when I got in. His eyes lit up immediately when he saw me, and he hurried to welcom
Elara Moonstone It was dusk by the time I woke up; the bedside was empty. Smooth, so I knew that Luca had been gone for quite a while. I rolled on his side of the bed and stretched in the cold scent of him. My phone buzzed on the table, and I turned over to pick it up. My eyes caught the note stuc

I had expected them to be okay but not so happy that everyone else became invisible to them. I had cleared my throat to speak s
