Chapter Forty
I visited mom two days later and she was quite shocked to see me there again so soon. When I was sure she was okay and I updated her about happenings at home, I went to the hospital cafeteria to get a snack and hopefully catch a glimpse of Katherine.
I was halfway into a meat pie before I saw her. She walked alone thankfully, so it gave me that extra boost of confidence to wave to her.

We walked into the hotel lobby where Laura and Idris waited. I couldn’t help but glance around the reflective walls-wow I looked amazing if I do say so myself- and the colourful paintings that seemed to give off a life of their own.
