Chapter 2

The pain hit, and I screamed out loud.

Serena disgustedly tossed the blade aside onto the girl in red.

Serena covered her ears with both hands and impatiently ordered the girl, "Shut up! You do it!"

The girl in red asked timidly, "How many cuts, Serena?"

Serena glared at her, and the girl in red immediately shut her mouth.

She made a few quick cuts across my face.

The pain made me scream in agony.

The broken sounds mixed with my pleas.

"Stop cutting. Ethan won't let you get away with this if he finds out."

Ever since that incident, I had lost hope for life, let alone something as trivial as a face.

But if Ethan found out what they were doing today, they wouldn't get off easy.

The previous security guards were a prime example.

Serena carefully wiped her fingers with a disinfecting wipe.

She said faintly, "Don't stop!"

The girl in red nodded and increased the force of her cuts.

"Ahhh."

The agonizing screams echoed through the bathroom.

The images of the previous humiliations flooded my mind, and I lost all desire to fight back.

All my strength drained away, and I no longer struggled or screamed.

It wasn't until my face was so cut up that there was no more skin left to carve on.

Serena threw the disinfecting wipe on my face and ordered the girl in red to stop.

"Alright, that's enough. The face is ruined. Time for the next step!"

As soon as the words left her mouth, the girls behind her rushed forward.

In no time, they stripped me of my clothes. A few of them even brutally pinched my private areas.

It was the same humiliation all over again.

The same thing I had endured before.

I seemed to sink back into that dark, hopeless memory. My face hurt, blood flowed endlessly and I couldn't breathe…

I wanted to die. Just let me die…

It hurt so much... What's the point of living? I didn't care about anything anymore…

The other girls eagerly and cruelly handled me.

Serena yelled in displeasure, "She's not reacting at all. Why are you all so excited?"

A few of the girls who were still taking pictures immediately dropped their phones, the sound of them hitting the floor.

The lace-dressed girl hurriedly approached and asked her.

"Serena, what should we do next?"

Serena frowned and waved her hand, saying, "Skip to the second-to-last step!"

The lace-dressed girl bent over, nodding quickly.

"Okay, okay, I'll make the call."

I never expected they had a whole process for tormenting others.

But it didn't matter. After all, death was inevitable. It was just a matter of how much suffering came in between.

Less than five minutes later.

A group of thugs rushed into the bathroom.

As soon as they saw me, the leader of the group stepped back a few steps in fear.

He said to Serena nervously, "Serena, this is someone Mr. Ford wants to protect!"

Serena lazily lifted her eyelids and asked, "What do you mean?"

The thug trembled and explained, "Last time, Mr. Ford had us pretend to bully a college girl so he could swoop in and save her.

“But after we did it, he got mad that some of my guys touched her and had all their hands chopped off."

He was nearly crying as he spoke.

Serena's focus was entirely on the fact that Ethan had tried to play the hero for me.

The jealousy in her eyes was barely contained, and she shouted, "It was because I wasn't around him back then! If you don't deal with her now, I'll take your lives!"

The thug shrank back, fear evident in his voice.

"But she's Mr. Ford's woman. We… "

Mr. Ford's woman?

I had always felt someone was watching me in the shade when I was being humiliated and beaten three months ago.

On that day, after I finished my part-time job, I was dragged into a dark alley.

That group of animals tore at my clothes, saying crude things to me.

When I was pushed deeper into the pitch-black alley, I could sense the people around me slowly disappearing.

Then, my hands and feet were tied, and the tearing pain spread throughout my body.

I endured the humiliation again and again until everything finally fell silent.

When my pants were pulled up, the sounds of the animals' laughter returned.

Then Ethan showed up.

Considering what this scruffy man had just said, an unbelievable thought flashed in my mind.

Before he could continue, I struggled to get up.

My throat was hoarse from shouting, and I could only ask weakly, "Are you saying that Ethan was the one who violated me that day?"

The thug didn't dare to look at me, and with his eyes closed, he nodded.

My faith shattered.

I had once thought he was the light in my life, but it turned out the darkness came from him.

What use was this ray of light, almost transparent and full of intent?

Serena, upon realizing that Ethan had done it with me, couldn't accept it and screamed, "I don't care! You all better do it now!"

She then pointed her finger at the thugs behind her and then at me, continuing to threaten them.

"Or else, you'll take her place!"

The moment these words left her mouth, the thugs dared not retreat any further.

Serena continued to push, saying, "You know Ethan loves me the most. I also have my parents' protection. What are you afraid of?

"Go ahead! I've got you covered. Ethan won't touch you!"

Her words gave the thugs some courage. The leader of the group led them into the bathroom, all crowding in.

Serena and her group of girls backed out.

After several rounds of humiliation, a torrent of hatred grew in me, shaking with rage.

How could Ethan treat me this way?

And how could Serena allow this?

Since I was indeed the biological daughter of the Shaw family, how could they treat me like this? I refused to accept it!

I started to fight back with all my might, struggling desperately.
