Chapter 2

ผู้เขียน: Jojo
I hadn't had a proper rest in so long that I fell into a long, deep sleep. Forgotten memories slowly began to surface in my mind.

Ross' sister and I had known each other since university. More than best friends, we were like family.

She was poisoned by wolfsbane in an accident, so I began studying herbal medicine in search of an antidote to save her. I couldn't bear seeing her once lively self turn so silent, so I always stayed by her side, trying my best to make her smile.

It was also at this time that I got to know Ross.

At first, he was very guarded around me. He always ignored me whenever I tried speaking to him. All he did was focus on taking care of Stella.

Later, when he noticed how much effort I put into studying herbs, he knew I wasn't just pretending to be nice. Only then did he start accepting me.

He no longer only smiled at Stella but began talking to me like a friend. He would even remember foods I casually mentioned liking and bring them to me the next time we met.

He had gradually opened up his heart to me.

Stella even tried to play matchmaker for us. "Jenny, my brother has never treated a girl this well. I think he has definitely fallen for you."

Although I would act annoyed and stop her from mentioning this, my flushed face had long betrayed me.

I could no longer look Ross straight in the eye. I wasn't sure if Ross had feelings for me, but I was sure I had fallen for him.

When I graduated from university, I insisted on becoming a healer to treat Stella's wolfsbane poison despite my mother's opposition.

Stella was my best friend, the one who had always been by my side when I was suffering, so I couldn't bear losing her.

That was why I had to work hard searching for herbs to treat her.

Thanks to the help of a remarkably skilled healer, I finally found the herbs needed to cure Stella's wolfsbane poisoning.

When I told Ross about the news, he joyfully pulled me into his arms and kissed my forehead. "Jenny, let's get married once Stella's wolfsbane poisoning is cured."

I looked into his gentle eyes and nodded in excitement.

However, the surgery failed.

The herbs had been swapped. Not only did they not cure Stella's wolfsbane poisoning, but they made it worse. In the end, Stella died from it.

Even though it had been four years, I still remember Ross' gaze toward me. They were filled with hatred and despair, and no hint of gentleness could be seen.

He grabbed my shoulders tightly, and furious like a lion, he roared, "Tell me! Why did you swap the herbs?"

I tried desperately to explain that I hadn't swapped the herbs. I had no idea what had happened.

However, he no longer believed me. It was then that he cursed me with the cruelest words. "Jenny, you should be the one dying. You'll go to hell!"

His words stayed etched in my heart for four years. No matter how much I tried to forget them, they always returned to me, leaving me in tears.

I thought I would be numb to those words since I'd heard worse from Ross, but I still found my pillow soaked in tears when I woke up.

I wanted to call out to Stella, but all I could manage were faint choked whimpers.

The tears on my face hadn't yet dried when I instinctively touched my flat belly. Feeling no movement at all, I burst into tears again.

Seeing that I had woken up, the healer who was here to change my bandages said apologetically, "Luna Jenny, I'm sorry, but we didn't know that you were pregnant… By the time we noticed, it was too late to save the baby."

She glanced at my belly, barely able to bring herself to say these words.

The damage to my womb and my wolf was too severe, so I would never be able to get pregnant again.

Tears blurred my vision. As I struggled to get up, the healer stopped me. Concernedly, she said, "You're covered in wounds now, so you must rest to recover. Don't move around too much, or your wounds might open."

Feeling her kindness, I wiped my tears and nodded lightly.

Yet, before I could lie back down, Ross barged in angrily.

He glared at me with blame and resentment. "Jenny, how can you be so wicked? Even if you hate me and don't want to carry my child, you shouldn't have staged a kidnapping!"

When Ross finally learned the truth, he broke down and smashed everything at home. At the same time, he uncovered another truth."Alpha, our Luna was really kidnapped by someone back then. The mastermind behind it was Nasha. They originally planned to torture her to death. "Still, she was clever enough to leave a signal for the Moon Pack. That's how she managed to survive the kidnapping. It was also Nasha who instructed the kidnappers to frame the Luna."Those words pierced Ross' heart like thousands of needles. His face went pale as he dropped to his knees. He couldn't stop trembling, not daring to recall what he had done to me.Back when those wicked kidnappers were hurting me, he said, "Even if you killed her, it has nothing to do with me."How could he say such hurtful words?Recalling the pain I had suffered, Ross felt as if he was suffocating. He pinched his arm to keep himself awake. With a hoarse voice, he asked, "Where are the kidnappers?""They're already locked u

Ross had brought some snacks when he appeared before me again. He fed some snacks to me while saying, "Nasha has already gotten an abortion. I promise that she'll never appear before you ever again."Ross' every movement was cautious, yet his eyes never left me, afraid to miss any of my expressions.I refused to eat the food he fed me, completely ignoring him.Ross tried to guess my emotions through my expressions, but failed. He could no longer get the reaction he wanted. Sadness and guilt flashed across his eyes. No longer forcing me, he coaxed gently. "Jenny, let the past be the past. From now on, let's start over. I'll always protect you."Start over? How could we start over?Ever since becoming his Luna, I not only lost my loving mother, the last family I had in this world, but also the child I had longed for. I even lost my wolf and the chance to become a mother again. With my voice gone and my legs crippled, I had truly become a useless piece of trash.Perhaps I could

My eyes dimmed. I couldn't bring myself to tell her what I had been through.Anna couldn't take my silence and went straight to my healer to ask about my condition. After learning about my situation, she stood frozen in place. She finally came back to my bedside after adjusting herself. Her eyes, still red and puffy from crying, were filled with heartache as she looked at me.Anna gently stroked my hair, trying to suppress her sorrow, and said softly, "Jenny, my father can definitely heal your legs, but unfortunately, he's not here now. So please leave this place with me, okay?"I lightly shook my head. I was nothing but a burden now, and I didn't want to cause her any more trouble. Anna knew me well enough to know what I was thinking. She begged in distress, "Jenny, you're my most important friend. I don't want to lose you."I was stunned upon hearing her words. Four years ago, right before Stella went for the surgery, she kissed my cheek and said, "Jenny, you're my most i

If Ross were willing to believe me and investigate the kidnapping, he would've found the truth. However, he never took this matter to heart. The healer didn't know what I went through, but he frowned and reminded me, "This young lady's condition is severe. Not only has she suffered physically, but emotionally as well. You need to give her more attention and care."Ross felt a piercing pain in his heart. Ross dejectedly agreed with the healer, then sent me to the ward.I lay on the bed, then turned away to look toward the window emotionlessly. Seeing how I was no longer as happy and lively as before, Ross' gaze was filled with heartache and regret. He sat awkwardly beside my bed, then said gently, "Jenny, don't worry, I'll definitely punish those two who hurt you. Please… just stop ignoring me, okay?"It had been a long time since he'd spoken to me in such a coaxing tone.My thoughts suddenly drifted to memories long buried. It was back when Stella was still alive. Stella l

Seeing me covered in blood, Ross finally couldn't sit still and drove straight to the graveyard. When he arrived, I was still kneeling.Ross rushed toward me, and when he saw the empty look in my eyes, he felt his heart ache.He instinctively reached out to touch my face, but quickly stopped. It was as if he suddenly thought of something. He said coldly, "Since you've knelt all night, I'll take it as you've admitted your mistakes. Don't cause any more trouble for the staff here. Just follow me."Ross pressed his lips together, looking down at me coldly. Yet I continued staring blankly at the tombstone, completely ignoring his words. "Jenny, I told you to follow me. Are you deaf?" Ross said through gritted teeth, trying to suppress his anger. I didn't even bat an eye at him as I sat up straight. He finally couldn't suppress his fury and grabbed my chin, forcing me to meet his eyes. "Why aren't you saying anything?! Are you mute? Didn't you like deceiving me with your sweet w

The other guard was swayed by his words, and the hesitation vanished from his eyes, allowing the violence against me to continue. It felt as if my heart had stopped. They were right. To the current Ross, Nasha was the only one who mattered. On the other hand, I was the enemy who killed his sister and child. The pain in my knees made it impossible to keep kneeling, so to ease the pressure on my wounds, I let myself collapse to the ground. However, this wasn't something they'd allow. One of them kicked my legs, yanked my arms behind my back, and pinned them down with his foot. The other stomped hard on my back, forcing me to bend forward in submission.A tearing pain spread throughout my body. Just as I was about to faint, the pain woke me up again."Do you think you're still the Luna? Look at yourself. You're nothing but a filthy stray! If the Alpha weren't so intent on tormenting you, the kind Miss Nasha would've long become our new Luna…"His humiliating words rang in my ear
