Trevis stepped out, his posture stiff, and he looked awkward when he saw me. I stammered, attempting to explain, "I... I couldn't think of a name for the main character, so I just used any name."

As I spoke, I felt an overwhelming sense of shame. How would Trevis see me now?

I heard him sigh, and Trevis, ruffling my hair, said, "I believe you. Alright, let's go to class."

Even though he believed my feeble excuse, I couldn't muster any happiness. Trevis and I weren't related by blood, but did he truly have no feelings for me? A surge of anger washed over me, and I grabbed Trevis's hand.

"Trevis, I don't want to stay here today. Can you help me get permission to leave, and take me home?" I pleaded.

He furrowed his brow slightly. "No, you need to study."

I whispered softly, "But my classmates are mocking me…"

He hesitated for a moment, as if only now noticing the mocking and disdainful glances from the people around us. He could do nothing but reluctantly agree.
