Just then, a soft knock sounded at the hospital room door. Edmund turned around and noticed that it was one of the bodyguards on duty.

The bodyguard stepped in and reported quietly, "Mr. Fowler Senior is in the lobby downstairs with his grandson. They want to see Ms. Hale."

Edmund pursed his lips when he heard that. He hadn't expected the Fowlers to catch wind of the news so quickly, let alone for Yosef to show up in person.

Macie's history with Edward was far from settled, and Edmund's hatred toward the Fowlers still burned strong. Hence, he didn't want them anywhere near Macie.

However, Yosef was still his elder. After a long moment of hesitation, Edmund said, "Let them up."

The bodyguard nodded and left.
