Chapter 4

Natasha's slender figure slowly disappeared from Joshua's sight. She went to her room upstairs but didn't intend to pack anything. She didn't want to take any of the things she was keeping at the Graysons'.

She wanted a brand new start.

Natasha's plan was to buy a new house tomorrow morning. Her priority now was to move out.

Judging from Joshua's attitude, it seemed it would take a while for the divorce to happen. She didn't want to continue staying here before then.

After coming up with a rough plan, she got into bed and slowly drifted off.

Natasha had a dream. She dreamed of the first time she saw that person.

It had happened on a hot summer afternoon. The sun had been burning with all its might when Zack Lynch had asked her to head over to the basketball court with some water.

There hadn't been a single cloud in the sky or any wind. All there was was the scorching sun, and Natasha quickly started to sweat. Even the trees around the court seemed to droop listlessly under the sun. She felt exactly the same.

The closer she got to the basketball court, the louder the noise became. The young men were dressed in basketball uniforms as they raced up and down the court, drenched in sweat.

Natasha's eye was immediately caught by one guy. His toned figure was vaguely visible through his drenched shirt, and it brought about thoughts of youth and energy.

The noise around her seemed to disappear in that instant. All she could hear was her own racing heart.

A light breeze lifted her hair, taking with it the image of the young man whose face was almost identical to Joshua's. Natasha was left standing in a daze near the basketball court.

The clamoring crowd's shouts and cries returned in full force, almost drowning her. Natasha felt like she was suffocating. No matter how deeply she inhaled, she felt like she couldn't breathe.

It was as if she was stuck at the bottom of the icy ocean. The crowd's noise washed over her from all directions, filling her lungs and veins. Even the last bit of oxygen in her blood was heartlessly taken away by the water.

Natasha's breathing suddenly sped up, and she shot up in bed.

Was he blaming her? Blaming her for thinking of Joshua as him, and blaming her for lying to herself …

No, maybe he was blaming her for being late. If she had been just a little bit earlier, he wouldn't have left her. Just a little bit …

Tears rolled down Natasha's face. She wiped them away from one cheek, but the other cheek quickly became wet. Finally, she couldn't take it anymore and buried her face in her hands as she cried in earnest.

After some time, the sobs subsided. Natasha slowly calmed down.

She couldn't spend another second in this place. She pulled out her phone and made a call. "Come and pick me up right now."

As soon as Natasha stepped out of the villa, she saw a black Rolls-Royce parked by the roadside.

A bodyguard got out and respectfully opened the door for her.

She got in and said to the man riding shotgun, "I'm getting divorced."

The collar of his ironed shirt was opened slightly, and he exuded a noble, dandy air. He had one leg crossed over the other, revealing a pair of red-soled leather shoes.

"Congratulations! You should've done this ages ago." The man smiled.

"Ever since you married Joshua Grayson, you've refused to come out and have fun with me," he teased.

"Yeah, right. Don't tell me you can't have fun without me around, Mr. Lynch. In fact, I bet you enjoyed yourself even more!" Natasha looked at him and heartlessly exposed him.

It had been three years since they'd last seen each other, but he hadn't changed a bit. The sorrow that had loomed over her earlier dissipated considerably.

"Stay over at mine tonight. I have an empty villa at Jorgano Hill; if you don't mind, you can move in there." Zack smiled.

"Alright, then. I'll stay there for now and find myself a new place tomorrow. It wouldn't do for me to constantly stay at yours," Natasha said after some thought.

There were too many women around Zack. If she were to intrude for long, she'd soon get into trouble, thanks to the jealousy of those women.

She couldn't help shuddering at the thought.

Anyway, it wasn't like she didn't have the money to buy her own place.

Zack nodded, then handed his phone to her. He sounded excited as he said, "It's high time you went back to being yourself. We were all waiting for you, you know."

On the phone's screen, Natasha saw the members of the board of directors greeting her. She couldn't help being overcome by emotion when she saw their familiar faces. She nodded at them.

It looked like she had to reclaim her rightful identity and return to work once the divorce was finalized.

Natasha had concealed her identity for three years to stay by Joshua's side. She'd done more than enough.
