[Pain II] SEBASTIAN At long last, I arrived at the pack hospital, breathless and soaked in Sierra’s blood. Her breathing had gotten weaker. Despite the pain coursing through my body, I refused to stop until I was certain she was in the doctor’s care. [My Father’s Lies] Zaiden So many things have changed over the course of my marriage to this man. I have learned so much, though; I wish I didn’t. That monster. Even as I write this entry, my heart reels of bitterness and resentment toward him for what he did. His cruelty toward me, no problem. But the atrocious act he committed, that I can never forgive. [Darkness] SIERRA Darkness. A dense, inky blackness that seemed to stretch into nothingness, unlike the usual moonless night. I couldn’t see a thing or hear a sound. [Shadows In A Dream] ARIANNE After cleaning up at the little creek on the eastern side of the pack, I sped back to my room to await the man who had ordered Sierra’s assassination. I was certain it would please him to know I succeeded. Sebastian would never know I killed his first mate, and now his second mate was dead, too. [The Prisoner] SEBASTIAN “Ugh!” I groaned as the sun kissed my back, arms, and legs. It felt hot and painful everywhere. My head throbbed like someone had a sledgehammer whacking at it for hours. I suppose that was my fault, though. Had I not drunk as much as I did, this wouldn’t have happened. Not to mention, I could barely move my limbs. Try as I might, I couldn’t move. My body ached, my mouth was impossibly dry like I ate sand, and my limbs felt like jelly—all wobbly and uncoordinated. I forgot to add that I couldn’t open my eyes at all, and it wasn’t just because of my heavy eyelids, but also because of my sensitivity to the glaring sunlight.
