Amelia

“Nonsense,” Logan scoffs and looks almost offended at Derrick’s assumption. “My stay in Deadfang has nothing to do with Amelia, but rather other matters.”

“Is that so?” Derrick asks and looks at Logan again, making it sure he’s not fully buying Logan’s words.

Logan arches an eyebrow but clearly doesn’t say what he wants to say and instead, nods sharply before he continues, “that’s so. I had plenty of reasons to extend my stay in Deadfang, but those, we will discuss later when we’re somewhere more private.”

Hearing the seriousness of Logan’s words, Derrick nods in agreement. I steal a glimpse of Logan and immediately notice how tense his jaw is, but don’t dare to speak up.

It’s clear my presence has brought enough tension as is and I don’t want to add more. After the tense, but thankfully peaceful word exchange, we return to enjoying the meal.

For a moment there, I relax and so does my wolf, at least until Derrick clears his throat and turns his attention on me all over aga

Logan“Still nothing?” I ask Marcel as we walk the park, my eyes scanning the area to ensure no one is following us. “Nothing, Alpha,” he answers in a quiet tone, the same as me having gotten used to the secrecy that comes with each conversation we have in this territory. “There has to be something,” I insist and stop to turn and face him. “I don’t believe no one has spoken of that Damian guy.” Marcel signs and runs a hand though his hair, “what little I got truly is information of no use. I wish I could give better news, but I swear, nobody around here likes to talk.” “Okay, fine,” I grumble. “In that case, tell me as much as you know. Maybe something will be of use after all. You never know.” “Keep in mind that everything I learned is literally glued together based on different retellings of events.” Marcel warns me. I really don’t care how much sense his words could make for as long as I have a chance to try and figure out what happened. Since I don’t speak, Marcel takes it

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 82

EthanEveryone on the training grounds is stunned speechless by the public execution. The corner of my mouth twitches with a suppressed smile as I watch their reactions, or lack thereof. Joey stands completely frozen next to me, eyes wide as he looks at the headless body at my feet. But then, he quickly gets back to his senses and calls out, “you heard the Alpha! Get to training!” The men scramble to pair up with rogues to train while Joey calls out to some of the guards standing nearby, “clean this up,” he points at the body. “And make sure no trace of what happened here is left.” One of the guards hands me a piece of cloth and I use it to wipe the blood off my hands, then turn around and walk away from the training grounds with Joey on my heels. Even though he’s walking behind me, I can sense how much he wants to speak up, most likely to convince me to change my decision about working this closely with the rogues. “Don’e even think about it,” I tell him before Joey can voice hi

EthanAmelia, the sweet, unassuming, beautiful soul hugs me thanks, as she always does. It truly amazes me how Logan could reject her and throw her out of the pack in the past. While rather naive, she’s truly beautiful and kind—not to mention her scent. It’s roses, mixed with something I can’t quite catch and every time I inhale when she’s so close, I’m tempted. Fuck, am I tempted…I can’t deny that I’m attracted to her. However, there are more important matters for me to focus on, so I push all those thoughts aside and think of what matters more. I’m far too close to my revenge on Logan and now that Amelia has dropped her guard completely—as soon as the time comes, she becomes the perfect little pawn in my game. We stand like that, holding each other until Joey arrives and ruins the moment. “Alpha, can I talk to you? In private. I have urgent news to report.” He blurts out and glances at Amelia, making it clear she shouldn’t be around while we talk. Before I can answer, Amelia f

AmeliaSophia exchanges another quick glance with Nina, then clears her throat and squeezes my hand just a little tighter, “Amelia, listen, the decision was made only for your good.” “My good?” I choke out and try to pull my hand out of her hold. “How is taking the one thing I love doing from me anything good? I don’t get it.” “I get that this doesn’t look good,” she says softly and sighs. “But trust me, it is for the best. Alpha Ethan is worried about your health. You’re six months pregnant, he doesn’t want you to overwork yourself, so he made it clear that you must stop seeing patients, and instead, should focus on resting.”I can feel my face fall with disappointment. Working at the hospital has been the highlight of my days and if I don’t get to do it anymore, I’m not sure what I would do at all. Just sitting and doing nothing will make me lose my mind. “Don’t be upset,” Nina perks up and grins at me like she has all the answers in the world. “How about I provide you company or

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 79

AmeliaOnce I get over the initial shock, I turn on my heel and take off towards the border. As soon as I reach it, I go to find the cave near which Ethan promised to wait for me. Thankfully, it’s not hard to find it and when I near it, Ethan emerges, followed by Michael. I let out a sigh of relief the moment I see them both. Ethan wants to hug me, but Michael rushes to me and grabs my shoulders, already checking for injuries. “Amelia, why is there blood on you? Are you hurt?” He asks, voice laced with genuine concern. Shaking my head, I flash him a reassuring smile, “that’s not my blood.” Michael’s eyes widen and his breath catches. “Not your blood?” He chokes out, “what do you mean?” Although I don’t want to talk about it, I understand it’s best I don’t keep any details a secret, so I explain what happened. “Katherine, she paid the guard to kill me. Apparently, she didn’t want me just gone, but actually dead. To protect myself and the baby, I had no other choice but to kill hi

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 78

Logan“Well,” Derrick speaks up long before I manage to process everything. “I think it’s pretty clear that this accident is the result of Amelia attempting to flee the Capital without permission. She must have gotten her hands on someone’s car and caused the crash.” “No,” I growl and close my hand around the necklace. “It can’t be that. I refuse to believe it! Amelia isn’t irresponsible like that, she’s loyal to a fault and if she wanted to leave, she’d just tell you and ask for permission!” “Logan, don’t be ridiculous,” Derrick growls and glares at me. “You see everything with your own eyes, it’s clear what happened here. Don’t go around trying to excuse her doings—she didn’t just cause the crash, she also killed one of my guards!” Rage boils within me. I can’t believe my own cousin would go to lengths like this—to accuse Amelia of killing someone while she couldn’t hurt a fly is outrageous.Slowly, I turn my head to look at Derrick. “I don’t believe what happened here was just a
