I stopped in my tracks.

He wanted us to go on a date…actually, he wants me to be his date.

I smiled to myself on that thought.

“We could go on a date, that's if you want to,” he added. My back was still facing him and he sounded like he was pleading.

Since when did my opinions matter and why was this man being unnecessarily good and nice to me?

I was reluctant to give an answer. I couldn't just agree to the date immediately.

I turned to face him and he discovered he was looking at m

Adrian's POV…I stood by the entrance door, and noticed how Tracy's eyes widened in surprise.“Isn't that your boyfriend?" Her father asked, tuning to face Tracy. "Uhh…” she trailed off. "That's him,” her mom said. "It's been a pretty long time you came over,”I just smiled at her but said nothing. "Come in. Come in,” her dad said. I walked in slowly, avoiding Tracy's gaze. I walked closer and sat down. "What did you just say now?” Her father asked. “I said I'll handle everything Victor needs to pay for,"“Really?" Her mom asked wide-eyed and I nodded. “That's amazing. Thank you…,”"But we don't take charity," Tracy cut her off. I looked at her. She was staring at me… emotionless. Like I was some stranger or enemy. "Tracy what are you saying?” Her mom asked. "Yeah mom. We don't accept accept charity,” she repeated glaring at me.Her parents must have read the room. Her father stood up. “We'll leave you both alone to sort your issues," with that, they left. She didn't even l

Tracy's POV…We were packing up in the coffee shop. My mom was wiping the counter while I arranged the chairs and cleared the house tables.“What in God's name?" My mom exclaimed. I raised my head and saw her looking at a small white paper.“What came about this number on this bill?" I smiled and came towards the counter. “Our customers have their bills covered," I said and my mom furrowed her brows in confusion. “I gave them free orders for today," “What?" My mom said, her eyes wide. “You did what?" “Don't worry mom. I'll pay," I shrugged. “You'll pay four hundred and fifty dollars?" She asked and faced the paper to me. My eyes grew wide. Did they order that much? “Mom. I… I…” I stammered. "I didn't know it was that high and I didn't think they'll order a lot,”My mom shook her. “Well you got a lot to pay now," “I'll pay in installments," She didn't say anything. She just looked away and kept wiping the counter. I knew why she reacted that way. “Are you still thinking abou

Adrian's POV…It's been three days and I haven't seen Tracy. Not even caught a glimpse of her. It seemed like after we returned, she just… disappeared from the surface of the earth. My fingers hovered over her contact. “Should I call her?" I muttered. “Call who?" My head snapped up immediately. I facepalmed myself. I forgot Aria was here.“Hmm?" I hummed like a fool, gaping at her. “You asked if you should call her," she raised a brow at me. “Who is she… wait,” she paused and pointed at me wide-eyed. "Are you cheating on Tracy?” She asked accusingly. "What. No. I'm not,” I defended. "Then who is that ‘she’ you wanted to call?”"It's no one. It's… um…”Before I could think of a better excuse, she reached forward from across me and snatched my phone from my hand. "I'll find out by myself who…" she trailed off as she looked at the screen. She looked back at me and furrowed her brows. “It says… Tracy?” She held the phone to me and pointed at the screen. I lowered my head. "Did

Tracy's POV…Throughout the ride back home, my mind kept replaying what Adrian said to me.‘Forget it ever happened’He made me open up to him, to kiss him, made me feel love for him and now… he calls it a mistake. I sniffed and wiped my eyes. I should have known he would do this before falling for him. He's a playboy after all.I leaned my head on the window. I couldn't wait to get home. I missed my parents. I missed Mercy. I missed the smell of home and the comfort. The jet landed and we stepped down. From there, the assistants carefully arranged our things in the car and Adrian and I drove off. The car ride was silent, even worse than the jet ride. At least, the pilots’ voices could be heard as they chatted. But now, it was just Adrian and I. I glanced at him briefly. His eyes were focused on the road. He had been ignoring me since this morning, acting like I wasn't there. I looked away. I wish I never met him. *****************That evening, I was in my parents’ shop, getti

Third person's POV…Tracy gasped for breath as Adrian's lips kissed hers rashly. His hands reached up to her face as he cupped her cheeks and deepened the kiss. He started moving and within seconds, Tracy found herself below Adrian on the couch. “Adrain…” Tracy called and tried releasing her lips, but Adrian captured them again. She was lying on the couch and Adrian, on top of her. His hands held both of her above her head as he kissed her. He didn't kiss her passionately, he kissed her like he was afraid of losing her or maybe that she'll disappear. His hand left hers and he nudged at the zip of her dress. Her senses returned and she pushed him away slightly. “Adrian you're drunk. Stop…”He removed her hand harshly and slowly pulled down her zipper. She started panicking. “Adrian stop," It seemed like he wasn't listening to her, so she had to act fast. Releasing her other hand, she used her last effort to push him away. He fell with a thud to the floor. Her chest was thumpi

Third person's POV…Tracy looked at the electronic wall clock for the hundredth time that evening. It was getting really late and Adrian was yet to come back. “He is supposed to be back by now. We're leaving first thing tomorrow morning. What could be keeping him?”She was beginning to get worried. Occasionally, she would go to the window and look out, to check if his car would drive in… but it didn't. She had called him several times, but he didn't answer the call. ‘The user you've called is not answering. Please leave a voicemail…,”"No,” she groaned. "What if something had happened to him?” She panicked. She called his line again, and it didn't go through. Bad thoughts began filling her head. “No" she shook her head strongly. “It can't be," She moved again to the window. Just then, she saw a black car drive in. She furrowed her brows. “That's not Adrian's car. He…”She was cut mid sentence by what she saw next. The car opened and someone led Adrian out. Then another man came

In a sleek, dimly lit lounge nestled in the heart of the city, the air hung heavy with the scent of cigars and aged scotch. A mellow jazz tune played in the background, blending with the low murmur of private conversations scattered across the room. A circular booth tucked into the far corner offere

The cool dawn breeze stirred the trees gently, rustling the leaves like whispers in the wind. Darren’s eyes fluttered open to a dim sky, where the first signs of morning teased the horizon. The air was still, but something felt different. Something… missing. His arm reached out instinctively. Em

Alina sat curled up on her bed, her forehead resting on her knees, fingers subconsciously tracing the fresh bruise on her neck, right where Aria had choked her the night before. Third person's POV…The clatter of utensils resumed, awkwardly filling the tense silence that loomed over the dining table.
