DUNCAN POV

“Daddy won’t be gone for too long, okay?" I cooed softly and on my knees, staring into the deep grey eyes of my daughter who gave me a small nod before staring at the mountainous lump of meat that stood unmoving beside her, then stared back at me with a faint smile.

“Come give daddy a hug.” I opened my arms wide, and Aurora threw herself at me before I attacked her plump cheeks with kisses, wrenching small lovely giggles from out of her. I glanced at Domenico who opened his arms wide, then gave Aurora to him. He pulled her closer to his chest, cradling the back of her small head with his big palm protectively.

“Thanks for doing this man.” I stared at him, as he started rocking up and down, as though he was lulling Aurora. He was such a daddy bear. In more ways I wasn't. Not that I wasn't any less of a dad but Domenico was just... too into it.
