I knew he was watching me.

Even through the crack of the heavy wooden door later that night, I could feel it— the weight of his stare. Matteo. The charming one. The smirking one. The liar.

I turned my back to the door, wrapped the blanket tighter around my bare skin, and told myself I didn’t care. He could keep peeping for as long as he wanted to.

The door creaked open almost immediately.

“I was wondering how long you’d pretend to be sleeping,” Matteo said, stepping in like he owned the room. He probably did. Everything here belonged to them anyway, including me.

“What do you want?”

His smile curled at the edge, soft and sharp all at once. “You.”

I sat up. “Lucian already—”

“I don’t care what Lucian did.” He stepped closer, slow, deliberate. “Tonight, you’re mine.”

“No,” I said, even as my body betrayed me, heating up under the blanket.

“No?” He raised a brow. “Try again.”

“I said no.”

He chuckled, hands sliding into the pockets of his black jeans. “That’s not how this works, Len

Everything here belonged to them anyway, including me.“What do you want?”His smile curled at the edge, soft and sharp all at once. “You.”I sat up. “Lucian already—”“I don’t care what Lucian did.” He stepped closer, slow, deliberate. “Tonight, you’re mine.”“No,” I said, even as my body betrayed me, heating up under the blanket.“No?” He raised a brow. “Try again.”“I said no.”He chuckled, hands sliding into the pockets of his black jeans. “That’s not how this works, Len

Lena"I'm not going in there."My voice trembled as I stood infront of a giant door."You don't have a choice," my step-father retorted coldly. He turned the handle, pushed the door open and shoved me into the room. He had sold me to settle his debts, a deal that had been conducted without my agreement.I stumbled into the room— dim, cold, and far too quiet. My stomach flipped. I’d never seen wealth like this. Marble floors, gold accents, thick velvet drapes. It looked like a palace, but felt like a prison.Lucian Valeri stood near the fireplace, his back to me, one hand wrapped around a glass cup.“Close the door.” His voice was calm and cruel.I didn’t move.“I said,” he turned slowly, “close the door.”I shut it, my hands shaking. He walked toward me— tall, dark hair and eyes that looked like they could freeze blood.“You’re late,” he said.“I didn’t—”“You don’t speak unless asked to.”I shut my mouth, my heart beating. He stopped in front of me, looking me over like I was a produ

  • YOURS STEPDADDY (A COLLECTION OF STEAMY STORIES)   The End

MiaThursday came like a punch to the gut.I lay in bed, hand on my stomach, wondering what kind of man Owen really was. What kind of father he could be. What kind of mess I had just handed an unborn child.By noon, I still hadn’t heard from him. By five, I checked the news. And there it was.'CARTER & WHITMORE TO WED IN DECEMBER.'My chest caved in. I had been so stupid. They weren’t just staying together. They were getting married. A date. A venue. A photo of Stacy's diamond ring sparkling beside his smug fucking smile.I stared at the screen for a full minute. Then I grabbed my coat. I didn’t knock when I got to his condo. I still had the damn key.He was in the living room, glass of whiskey in hand, still in his suit. His eyes widened. “Mia—”“You set a fucking date?” My voice cracked. “You were supposed to end it.”He stood. “You shouldn’t be here.”“No. You shouldn’t be lying to my face. Again.”He exhaled. “Mia, you don’t get it.”“I get it just fine. You chose her. Again. Afte

  • YOURS STEPDADDY (A COLLECTION OF STEAMY STORIES)   Breaking Point

MiaI sat on the bathroom floor, the positive pregnancy tests in my hand.My heart pounded. I couldn’t move. The clock ticked past midnight, then 2 a.m., then 4. I crawled into bed, staring at the ceiling, my mind racing. Was it from that first night in his office? Or the gala? Or last night, when I’d let anger and desire pull me back to him? He’d sworn Thursday was the end, that he’d break it off with her. But what did that mean now? A baby changed everything.I didn’t sleep. I called in sick by morning, unable to face the office or him. I curled up on my couch, wanting to text him, to scream, to cry, but I didn’t know where to start. What if he didn’t want this? What if I was alone?A knock at my door jolted me. I froze, my heart racing. Another knock, harder. I dragged myself up, peering through the peephole. Owen.I opened the door, my voice flat. “What are you doing here?”“You didn’t come to work,” he said, stepping inside without asking. “I was worried. You okay?”I shut the do

  • YOURS STEPDADDY (A COLLECTION OF STEAMY STORIES)   Surprise

MiaI barely slept that night.By morning, I was staring at the ceiling, Owen’s arm draped across me. He looked peaceful, like he hadn’t just promised to leave his fiancée after one more board meeting. Like nothing was wrong.“Thursday,” I whispered to myself.I repeated it again at lunch after I'd left his condo. Then, at 8 p.m. when I checked the company’s social feed, I froze. There they were —Owen and Stacy. Smiling, dressed impeccably, walking into a charity gala together like the perfect couple. Photographers everywhere. Her arm linked with his. His hand on her back. Her lips on his cheek.I blinked and reloaded the page. It wasn’t a mistake. It was real.I stared at the headline: 'Carter & Whitmore: The Power Couple Still Going Strong.'I couldn’t breathe. I shut my laptop, stood, grabbed my coat and my phone. Then I called him. He didn’t pick up.I texted: 'You lied.'No response.I texted again: 'I hope the merger’s worth it.'Still nothing. So I did what angry, heartbroken w

Mia“What happens next?” I asked again, my voice softer now, but no less serious. He looked at the ceiling. “I don’t know, Mia. I meant everything I said. But this… this isn’t easy.”I sat up. “Then make it easy. You told me you’d leave her. You told me you’d choose real, choose me. I need more than words, Owen.”“I know,” he said, sitting up beside me. “But it’s not just her. It's bigger than that. It’s the company. The merger. The board—”“Oh, come on,” I snapped. “I thought we had moved past this. You think I care about business deals right now?”“No,” he said quickly. “But they do. And if I make one wrong move, if it looks like I broke off an engagement because of an assistant I’ve been fucking—”“So now, I'm just an assistant?” I cut in, stung.“I didn’t mean it like that.”“Then what did you mean? Because from where I’m standing, Stacy’s still the one with the ring. Still the one in photos with you. Still the one the world acknowledges.”He exhaled. “You think I haven’t been try

  • YOURS STEPDADDY (A COLLECTION OF STEAMY STORIES)   The Proposal

MiaThe next day, I met Stacy at a café two blocks from the office. She wore sunglasses and a sleek black coat, like she was trying not to be seen. And God, she was even more gorgeous in person— her long blonde hair flowing down her shoulders.“You came,” she said, stirring her coffee slowly. “Good. Saves me the trouble.”“What's this about, Stacy?” I asked, trying to sound composed. She took off her sunglasses. Her eyes were sharp, but not angry. Calculating.“Don't play dumb with me, Mia. I’m not here to scream or throw things,” she said. “And I’m not here to ask you to leave Owen. That part’s done.”I blinked, stunned. “Then what are we doing here?”“I want to make you an offer.”I almost laughed. “What the hell kind of offer?”She leaned in. “You keep seeing him. But discreetly. If I could find out about this, how long you think it'd be before someone else does? No more drama. No public exposure. You act like you’re nothing more than his assistant.”“What?”“You’re good for him,”

  • YOURS STEPDADDY (A COLLECTION OF STEAMY STORIES)   The Message

MiaI stared at the screen– 'It’s Stacy. We need to talk.'I didn’t move. My heart pounded so loud.Owen sat up behind me, brushing his hand over my back. “What is it?”I held up my phone without speaking. He read it. Then exhaled sharply. “This is a bluff, she doesn't know anything.”I turned around, still gripping the phone. “You don’t know that.”“She doesn’t have anything. She’s pissed, maybe suspicious, but this? This is a scare tactic.”I bit my lip. “Or maybe she saw us. Maybe she knows. Maybe she had someone keeping tabs on you."“Mia relax,” he said gently, brushing my hair behind my ear. “Even if she does, what’s she going to do? Tell my dad? The board? She’s not going to be unaffected in all of this."“She’s your fiancée,” I snapped. “And we're the villains in this. She could destroy us.”His face hardened. “I’m ending it. Tomorrow.”“You keep saying that,” I said, voice shaking. “But what if you don’t? What if you get scared and back out?”“I won’t.”“You say that now, in

  • YOURS STEPDADDY (A COLLECTION OF STEAMY STORIES)   Night Confessions

MiaI was silent at work the entire day.No stolen glances. No lingering in the hallway. No breathless meetings behind closed doors.I kept my head down, my voice flat, my heart locked up. Every time I saw Owen from across the office, I looked away. And when he tried to come near me— once by the elevator and once by the break room, I turned and walked off.I couldn’t trust him. Not yet. Not until he proved I wasn’t just a beautiful distraction from a life he had no intention of leaving. When I got home, I kicked off my heels, dropped my bag, and curled up on the couch. The silence of my apartment swallowed me. I didn’t know if I was waiting for time to pass or for my phone to light up.What I wasn't expecting was the knock at the door.I froze. Then it came again. Firmer. Urgent.I opened it and there he was. Owen. His hair was messy like he’d run his hands through it a thousand times. His tie gone and his sleeves rolled up. Eyes wild.“What are you doing here?” I asked, my heartbeat
