I fiddle with my fingers, feeling nervous and utterly confused. It has been precisely 20 minutes, and they still haven’t left the room. 20 minutes of pacing back and forth.

I looked down at my clothes. I picked out a pair of tight, skinny jeans, a decent shirt, and black boots to pair with. I’m fully clothed now, but how can I still feel each of their eyes, burning into me? Goosebumps spread across my skin as I remember the predatory look on their wolfish eyes.

Xavier, with silver eyes had turned full pitch-black, I remember clearly. Leon, with his piercing blue eyes that stared into my depths, exploring every inch of me as he raked my body without a single touch. And finally, the most domineering entity of all. The unnamed man who appeared without even me noticing. It was like he’d never been there at all. And yet, when I lock my gaze into his eyes, he did something to my body. Wild, unstoppable energy as strong as electricity traveled deep into my core. His dark gaze alone, those bloody red eyes were almost animalistic, to some extent. It felt surreal, almost inhuman. Despite it all, each of them made my body react in a way it never had before, which is dangerous.

I lifted my gaze to the door, my lower lip trembling. If they were having a conversation, they must have kept it incredibly lowkey since I haven’t heard a sound at all. The air is dead silent you could hear a pin drop.

Exactly who are these people?

Suddenly, the door clicked open, and my head snapped up. Xavier, the first one to step out, scanned the room before his eyes landed on me. A look of relief washed over his face, and he sighed. I was stunned.

Why was he relieved to see me?

“There you are, Clara. I was worried you would leave,” he tossed me a small smile, but I looked at him expressionless. I didn’t feel the energy to smile back. I didn’t feel safe.

Living with three men under one roof? I don’t think that’s such a good idea. If this was the case, then I probably should leave.

“Can I talk to you?” I directed the question to Xavier, who didn’t take his eyes off me. His gaze starting to feel like the others, and it’s making me feel uncomfortable if you couldn’t tell.

Xavier furrowed his brows, while the others, Leon and the blood-eyed man came forward with the same, hunting, look in their eyes. I gulp.

Something isn’t right.

“Sure, beautiful Clara. Is something bothering you?” he asks, yet again flashing me that gorgeous yet fake smile of his.

My eyes drifted to Leon, then the other, boring holes directly at me.

“Uhm, alone?” My voice came out in a pathetic whisper, as I looked up at all three of them. Only now noticing how they all towered over me, making me feel small and vulnerable.

I forced myself to focus on one person. The person who brought me here believing I’ll be safe and sound in this mansion of his, and ridiculously far away from the city.

My head started pounding. Why did I even agree to this?

Instead, Xavier chuckled as a devious smirk formed on his face. I stepped back. Now he’s starting to look like the others.

What on earth have I gotten myself into?

“These are my brothers, Clara. If you want to say something, you can say it to all of us,” he said.

Leon nodded, but there’s mischievousness to his reaction that made me skeptical about all this.

I cleared my throat, and mustered the courage within me to say what I’ve been dying to say since Leon first walked in on me. In my underwear, no less.

“Well, I don’t think this is a good idea. I appreciate the offer, really, but I think it’s best I look for another,”

After the words slipped from my lips, it was as if the entire atmosphere changed. All three of them looked at me like wolves eyeing their prey. And I was the deer caught in headlights.

“You can’t leave,” I gasped as all three of them said the words in sync.

My eyes darted to Xavier. “Excuse me?”

I could have sworn I saw a look of possessiveness in his eyes before he lifted his lips in a cheery smile.

“You can’t leave because it’s pitch black out there. Our driver already left.” He said and shrugged.

I moved towards the window and saw that he isn’t lying when he said it was dark. You can see nothing but eternal darkness outside this part of the forest. No city lights like the view back in my old apartment, nothing.

“Besides, we really think you should give us a chance. My brother has something he wants to say to you,”

I turned around just in time to catch Xavier elbow the blood-eyed guy with jet black hair, grunting in response.

“Fine. I apologize,” he said, sarcastically, and I gave him a small smile.

Well, an apology is still an apology.

“I’ll take it,”

He averted his gaze, and I watch as his lips formed into a small pout, making me chuckle.

Although a bit strange, he is kind of cute.

“Don’t mind him. Damon’s not used to… people.” Leon said, cocking his head to the side as he stared at me.

Once again, I feel like I’m being examined by them from head to toe.

Before I knew it, Xavier was in front of me. My hand in his, he began to rub small, soothing circles on the middle of my palm. And damn, if it didn’t feel so relaxing…

“Stay. I promise, you won’t regret it.”

I opened my mouth to say something, yet his touch soothed my skin so expertly, I forgot what it is I wanted to say. What was it? And why did I even want to leave?

All I know is the feeling of his hand, how his fingers brushed over my skin, and the warmth of his body so close to mine.

I see his nostrils flare just as I felt a warmth pool between my legs, his silver orbs swirling and changing colors, only now it’s pitch black.

At least that’s what I thought I saw before he turned around and dragged the two others along with him, leaving me flushed with embarrassment as the scent of that sticky sensation flowing between my legs, made its way up to my nose.
