I think someone tried to destroy the footage, but we were able to retrieve it,” the head guard spoke while Darryl played the video. “It's obvious that someone had it all planned out, to wipe off the footage of that day,” the guard added while I looked intensely at the footage taken from that day. I was burning in rage as the scene where Regina was being humiliated and forced to kneel played next. “Who opened the gate for them to enter?” I asked after watching the video. The guard looked confused and scared. I was seething, and my fists were clenched. I almost believed that Regina had left me and even thought that she'd taken off with my black card, wristwatch, and the document, but then I discovered that she was killed by William's and that fact still haunts me. I wished I had stayed with her that day. Perhaps, none of this could've happened, and she would have still been alive but nothing I do would ever bring her back. S

Rachael's POVMy gaze swept across the hall, taking in the faces of the guests and the elegant dresses. The room had a warm glow, and the silence that descended in the room as the pastor wed the couple. The bride looked so beautiful in her wedding dress. Something about her appearance and everything entirely made me feel a sting of sadness. I tried to comprehend why exactly I felt the heavy weight of sadness on my chest. Was it because of the unexpected news of Derek's departure? At first, I had refused to believe the letter, but after Peter confirmed it, I couldn't help the pain that shot through me. I knew I shouldn't be feeling sad at someone's wedding, but it was difficult to fight the tears that welled up in my eyes. Fortunately, it was a wedding, and I wasn't the only one crying. I just had to make it seem like I was crying for the same reason. The wedding came to an end and everyone exited the hall. The bride and the groom shared kisses occasionally as they took pictures, whi

Gina's POV “Are you sure you're ready to meet with the board members? If you like, then we can postpone--” Peter reasoned, but I quickly interrupted.“I'm ready,” I said briefly, and the door to the elevator finally opened. Stepping out of the elevator, I walked to the door and Peter pulled the door open for me.This was my first day as the new CEO of the company. Yes, I was still overwhelmed by the sudden events, but I had spent the whole of last night thinking of how this was going to change my life and how prepared I was for it. I had been waiting for this moment for so long and now, I finally had the chance to exact revenge on the ones who wronged. If there was anything I learned from Derek, it would be his usual words. Take what you want and don't look back, suffer the consequences if necessary, but regret it prohibited. A part of me was telling me that I was unprepared, and I should probably run out of this place, but another part of me was ready to face the storm. Come what m
Regina's POVThe loud cries of the baby echoed in the quiet room. I tilted my head to the side while cradling the little ball in my hand. He was so frail and vulnerable as he kept crying. Something about this moment was both enjoyable and tiring. I had to admit that a part of me was whining in frustration, while the other part was embracing the feeling of motherhood and awaiting the experience that came with the responsibility.“Shh, don't cry. Do you want milk?” If someone were to hear me now, they might think I was insane for speaking so calmly with a child who wanted nothing close to discussion now. Which was the frustrating part of it. How was I supposed to know what he wanted? Eventually, I started figuring out a way to calm him down and the cry slowly died down as exhaustion tugged on his eyelids and he fell into a deep slumber. Now this was the part I loved as I watched him sleep peacefully after disrupting my peace. A knock broke the lovely moment and I whipped my head towar
