Earlier, Evan had bound Cindy's wrists with the belt while deep in the throes of passion.

Beverly threw it at Evan's feet, looking at him with disappointment. Finally, she saw panic and diffidence in his eyes.

As she ran out of the villa, she met the neighborhood's property manager, who'd been alerted by the commotion. She asked him, "Which villa does the Gray family own here?"

He wiped the sweat from his brow, not daring to lie to her. "This one, Mrs. Gray. This is the best villa in the neighborhood."

As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Evan came running out of the villa. Beverly stared at his handsome face, which was the same as it had always been. She thought she would no longer feel any pain after everything she'd been through, but she still felt like she was shattering within.

Tears blurred her vision as she took off her wedding band and threw it at Evan. She said with icy determination, "I want a divorce."
