Yvonne POV

The light filtering into the room illuminated it, hitting the right angle to admire how it reflected off surfaces. It didn't warm the room in particular, but it was still somewhat pleasant. I stood, holding a tray with a drink I had ordered earlier.

It wasn't something I was particularly thrilled about. I even had to rethink before picking up the tray.

It wasn’t really my place to serve anyone in this house. Normally, I'd have asked a servant in the house to handle it since I wasn't one of them. But what Selena had told me left me unable to question it.

“You are to bring it to me yourself.”

She was specific and clear with her nonsense tone.

So I did as I was told, lowering my pride to serve like a maid. I tried balancing it as I walked—since it wasn't a norm for me.

Selena was by the windows edge, even with her relaxed posture, she looked well capable of issuing commands that would make someone stand at attention. When she looked at me, I felt uneasy.

I stilled mysel

Matteo's POVI changed into something more fit for a place like the auction house, quickly checked on my sister and then opened the door for Gunner to pass.He gave me a stern side eye as he exited the house. I immediately shifted my gaze away before he stabbed me with his eyes or something. My eyes fell on my sister, still knocked unconscious on the couch, now covered in a long blanket.‘I’m sorry,’ I apologized internally, guilt ridden. ‘I just hope the Auction’s host remembers who I had sold Anna to. Or else I'm dead.’I sighed once more and stepped out of the house. Gunner had somehow opened the door of my car without damaging it and started the engine. Did Alphas possess the ability to manipulate tech? That's impossible. He's probably just an expert in this kind of thing. The drive to the Auction house was pretty tense. Gunner kept reminding me of the thousands of ways he would end my life if this ended up being a trap. He didn't have to say anything, I was more than aware of wha

Matteo's POV“Where is Anna, Matteo? You know I don't take pleasure in repeating myself,” Gunner asked in a singsong manner, his voice reverberating across the room, more so across my body.It felt as though my body had been placed against a giant gong that was struck with maximum force. I shuddered at intervals, my hands twitching. It wasn't just the deepness of his voice, or the redness in his eyes, the air surrounding him seemed to have taken form, boiling in response to his rage.At that very moment, I felt true fear for the first time. I have seen Gunner crash out many times, kill people even, but the bloodlust spewing from him at that point in time was unlike anything I had experienced. It was crippling.“Are you deaf?!” Gunner’s voice, once again, boomed across the house. Shudering, I lifted my head to look at him. Maybe it's because I was on my knees, but he looked abnormally tall, like a giant, his head almost scraping this ceiling. I was probably going crazy. His left hand

Gunner’s POV“Ahh…” I sighed for the umpteenth time that day as I swivelled around in my leather chair. My desk was filled, no, littered with stacks of documents concerning the pack, ranging from letters, to receipts, requests, bills, a lot of things I needed to attend to. But did I want to? No. At least now at that moment. There were more important things to worry about, an entity, a person…And even if I decided to drown myself in filtering through or filing the documents, I would end up doing rubbish. My mind would drift too much from the point of focus. It was a hassle, really.Once again—maybe for the tenth time in that minute, I raised my left hand and stared at my golden wrist watch. I creased my brows in frustration, ‘They’re taking too long. Tch.’I sighed again, as usual, and picked up the book I had been reading all day. I was still on the first page; I would only read a few lines, forget what I had read and then start over. It wasn't a boring book, it contained a substanti

Matteo’s POVFor a moment, I couldn’t breathe. My eyes bulged as I stared at the man standing in the center of my living room. My throat burned from the hand that had just gripped it, and even though he had let me go, I still felt the imprint, like an invisible chain had locked itself around my neck.“G-Gunner?” I stammered, my knees buckling under me until I fell hard on the floor. My palms pressed against the cold tiles as I gasped for air. The sight of him—of that man—in my house, of all places, made my entire body shiver.I dropped fully to my knees before I even realized what I was doing. Fear crawled through every nerve in me. “Please,” I blurted, my voice breaking as I clasped my hands together, “please don’t hurt her. I’ll do anything you want, just don’t hurt my sister!”I didn’t even care how pathetic I sounded. Pride didn’t matter anymore. All I could think about was her.Gunner tilted his head slowly, his eyes sharp, like blades piercing through me. His presence alone fill

Matteo’s POVI never thought I would see the day, but there it was, right before my eyes. The paddle went up.It felt like my heart didn't have enough space to beat, I wanted to speak out, some part of me found it somewhat amusing but I didn't react that way. This didn't feel real to me.“Its finally my turn." I said, as if it was a prayer, my fingers holding each sides of my chair as if they actually bolted it together.I didn't wait for the host to finish repeating the bid price or asking if there was anyone else who could take it higher."Sell her immediately." I said, raising my hand. I sounded somewhat desperate, but if what I said could happen right now, it was worth it. Anna had finally been sold, and not just for some cheap token like I’d feared. For that price… that price was everything. The host looked at me with surprise for a moment but then gave me a professional nod. He lifted his voice and declared, “Sold.”That was all I needed.I sat back in my chair, heart racing

Anna’s POVThe moment I stepped into the room, guided by Alpha Jason himself, my whole body felt weak. I admitted to myself the fear that lived in my heart—it had been there since the auction, and it wasn’t going anywhere. My steps were slow, unsure, almost like I was walking into a fate I couldn’t control.I kept replaying everything in my head. The way the paddles were raised, the way people stared at me like I wasn’t a human being but some object on display. I remembered the look on Matteo’s face when the final paddle had gone up. He was smiling like a devil who had just signed a deal. And then that cheque—his hands never left it. It was like all he ever wanted was the money. And he got it. He didn’t care that he had just traded me away. He didn’t care about the child in my belly, or whether I lived or died after this. For him, that cheque was worth more than me.When Alpha Jason left me in that room without a single word, my fear grew even more. The silence was louder than anythin
