Mattias's POV

That particular moment with Anna played in my head like a looped tape so much that I had lost count.

The way it seemed her eyes lost light when she looked at me, as if her mind was already made up that the fight for me wasn't worth it. I tried to stop her, to make her reconsider her leave.

But my grip was weak—physically and in every other way that mattered.

I wasn’t bold enough to stand in her way. Not when the shadow of Selena loomed over us both.

And Anna… she knew it. She knew I didn't have what it took to face Selena, and all I did was prove her right.

She left because my strength wasn't enough to make her keep trusting me. And the truth burned more than anything Selena ever did to me.

Now, I stood here, in a hall that felt as if it's very air choked me—as if it was smoke. I could feel the laser focus of the eyes staring at me, each one carrying judgment, expectation and an underlying intent to criticise anything I'd say next.

Richard’s POVI sat alone in my study, my gaze focused on the wind glass I oscillated slowly in my hand. The light of the lamp on the table illuminated the amber liquid making silver linings at its edge. My study has always been my one place of seclusion. Here, I could lock out whatever was happening on the other side of the door. But tonight , it didn't feel like a refuge. Instead, it felt as if I had imprisoned myself. The weight in my chest was evident. Selena had done it. She had taken over Mattia’s pack.It was something I had dreamed of for years, plotted in silence, weighed carefully in my thoughts but never dared to act on fully. And now, she—my own sister—had already achieved it. Not just achieved it, but with such swiftness and dominance that I couldn’t help but feel both betrayed and humiliated.I tipped the glass back and drained it, the burn running down my throat offering me the smallest comfort. But no amount of drink could ease the truth gnawing at me.I should hav

Anna’s POVI didn't know I had sat where I was for that long. It was the stars I had been staring at that captured my attention.Subconsciously I tried to start reading again but they didn't tell me anything I could understand. Initially, I thought maybe I was acting like this because it's been days since I saw Yvonne or maybe it was the pregnancy that made me act out this way. But deep down, I knew it was something else. My body hadn't forgotten the wave of Mattias's emotions I had felt earlier, it was like part of me had taken on the responsibility of sharing his burden and now, I couldn't do away with it. And as each second with me looking at the stars, it felt as if what I had felt was linked to its pattern somehow. I didn't know the right words to explain it, but it was just an odd feeling to say the least. My wolf was definitely not overeating on a fluke. She had sharper instincts than mine, and she let out a cry of pain the moment the waves of Mattias's emotions had hit me.

Anna’s POVIt had been days since I last saw Yvonne.Normally, she was the first person I’d see in the morning — even before I fully woke up, she’d be there, carrying a tray, her voice light and cheerful as she teased me about still being in bed. But these past few days… nothing. Someone else had been bringing my meals, and they never waited for me to hold a conversation with them. They'd keep my food on the table, offer a polite greeting and leave before I had the opportunity to find out anything about her. I tried convincing myself that it shouldn't be suspicious. Yvonne was occupied with her own duties, asides looking out for me. But I couldn't just put the odd feeling away.Maybe it's because I had gotten familiar with her presence—or without her, everything around just felt dull.I didn't know when my eyes roamed to the door, expecting a knock from her. Usually, during these moments, she'd enter the room without permission, but she was always welcome. It felt as if some items

Lucas’ POVThe air around me had changed. It wasn't because the evening neared, but mostly likely, it was because of everything that had occured. Things I couldn't have predicted would happen. Alpha Mattias was gone. Not dead. Not even banished. But his title, the name that gave him power had vanished. Someone who would be looked at by many with fear was now looked down on with pity. My adamant mind refused to accept what I was seeing as I stood like a block. They had him.Selena’s pack warriors—at least ten of them, maybe more—were holding him like he was nothing but a common criminal. And he didn’t fight. That was the part that twisted something deep inside my chest. Mattias, who I’d known all my life to be proud, strong, and stubborn, didn’t even lift his head.It was wrong.Everything about it was wrong. But what could be done?He wasn’t Alpha anymore. He didn’t have the authority to fight back, and even if he tried, Selena had brought enough muscle to crush him in seconds. She

Selena’s POVMy plan was the master plan. Everything fell into place like it was supposed to, everything followed it's order just for this moment. Today was the day Mattias would be bound to Sarah. The day fate itself would bend to my will.I had imagined it so many times before… Mattias standing before her, the bond sealing them together, and the entire room looking on in awe as my decision became law. This wasn’t just about pairing them. It was about control. Order. And making sure no one in my pack—or beyond—ever forgot where the power truly rested.Nothing could ruin it. Not the hushed doubts I’d overheard. Not the lingering whispers of those too weak to stand against me.Unless…My gaze shifted to Mattias. He stood just a few paces from Sarah, I realized the space between them was charged with silent tension. He had on a composed expression, but the look in his eyes mirrored the bitterness in his eyes.Hesitation.I knew that look. The silent pause before a storm. It wasn’t loy
