Chapter 7 Setting the Trap

Juliet Shaw had just parked her car at the school when she ran into Debby Kathleen and Jeff Byron, who were walking towards her.

Jeff Byron was carrying breakfast, clearly there to deliver it to Debby Kathleen.

"Hi, Teacher!" Jeff Byron greeted her warmly.

Juliet Shaw looked over at them.

"Good morning, Teacher~" Debby Kathleen greeted her with a sweet voice and an obedient look.

Jeff Byron paused for a moment, noticing that Teacher's lips were swollen, even this early in the morning. "Morning. By the way, Xia, send me your manuscript via email; I have time to look at it today."

"Okay, Teacher, I'll send it right away!"

"Mm."

After saying that, Juliet Shaw left directly.

The smile on Debby Kathleen's face faded.

"Wow! Teacher is cold on the outside but wild on the inside, look at her lips and neck, those marks are so fresh!" Jeff Byron said with a hint of innuendo.

"Teacher, really, as a teacher, she should care more about her image," Debby Kathleen muttered, clenching her hand tightly, her nails digging into her palm.

"Yeah, it does affect the image of a teacher," Jeff Byron agreed.

*Teacher, you better help me with this submission, or you won't have a peaceful day at school.*

Although Debby Kathleen's literary skills were average, she was excellent at fabricating stories. Many things, once they passed through her mouth, could turn black into white.

As soon as Juliet Shaw entered the office, she heard a loud roar, "I've said it eight hundred times, if you quote someone else's work, you must cite the source, or you will get into trouble sooner or later!"

The speaker was Leng Su, slightly plump, always dressed in black, wearing glasses that covered half her face. She was one of the most capable teachers in the office, but her temper was also notoriously fiery, earning her the nickname "Leng the Cannon."

A male student left the office with a dejected face, while Leng Su still had a stern expression, clearly still angry.

"Alright, students, we need to teach them slowly," Juliet Shaw went over and comforted Leng Su softly.

Leng Su took a deep breath, "I don't want to be a teacher anymore. Dealing with these hopeless cases every day is a waste of my life."

"Teacher Leng, a teacher's role is to impart knowledge, teach, and resolve doubts. We are both helping others and ourselves."

"Ah, I'm just venting."

"Let's go, I'll take a walk with you to change your mood. Do you have a live class this afternoon?"

"Yes." Leng Su pushed her glasses up irritably.

"Let's go for a walk. You can't go live looking so down."

"Okay, thank you."

"Don't be so formal, Teacher Leng."

Juliet Shaw and Leng Su walked around the school's small forest. "Teacher Leng, a friend of mine is facing a difficult situation. During her pregnancy, her husband cheated on her. "What?!" Leng Su's voice rose, "How can there be such heartless, shameless scum in this world? What does your friend plan to do, Teacher?"

"My friend's husband is powerful, and she is powerless. There's not much she can do," Juliet Shaw said helplessly, lowering her head.

Leng Su raged against the cheating husband, while in the distance, Debby Kathleen and a classmate approached.

"Hey, Zimu, look, Teacher Leng is scolding Teacher!" The classmate pulled Debby Kathleen, excitedly.

Debby Kathleen quickly hid behind a tree with her classmate. From afar, they couldn't hear what was being said, but they saw Juliet Shaw being reprimanded by Leng Su.

"I told you, Teacher may be young and successful, but the other teachers don't like her. She became a guest professor right after graduating from university. How capable can she be?" The classmate said discontentedly.

Debby Kathleen didn't respond, but a smug expression appeared on her lips.

Juliet Shaw, who was still bowing her head, knew that Debby Kathleen was watching, which was exactly what she wanted.

Leng Su was an essential part of her plan.

Back in the office, Juliet Shaw opened Debby Kathleen's manuscript from her email.

As usual, it was nonsensical.

In her previous life, Debby Kathleen was at this level, and she had to heavily revise her work to help her graduate.

Just before leaving work, Leng Su came to Juliet Shaw's desk and said quietly, "Teacher, does your friend need help? I have a neighbor who is a lawyer, and he's very good. He never loses a case."

Hearing this, Juliet Shaw's eyes lit up.

"That would be great. Can you introduce me to your neighbor sometime? My friend is quite timid."

"I understand, I understand. Let's go, it's time to leave."

"You go ahead, I still have some things to finish."

"Okay."

"Teacher!"

At that moment, Debby Kathleen rushed into the office, red-eyed and full of resentment.

Juliet Shaw glanced at her indifferently.

"Teacher, I am your student. Why are you so unfair? Other teachers do everything they can to help their students get published in various journals, to make their resumes look impressive. But you, how do you treat your own students?"

Debby Kathleen, with red eyes, accused her softly, especially the last sentence, showing her ability to fabricate.

Juliet Shaw sneered inwardly. *How did I lose to such a low-level schemer in my previous life?*

"Xia, you can eat anything, but you shouldn't say anything. I teach honestly and have never accepted gifts."

"Yeah, what kind of student are you? How can you make such baseless accusations? You're an adult; you need to take responsibility for what you say!"

Leng Su, unable to bear listening any longer, wondered what kind of student could be so aggressive.

*Teacher is really too soft, letting a student accuse her like this.*

"What's your name? What's your student ID? I need to check if you have a record. Making false accusations like this, I think you're a repeat offender!" Leng Su raised her voice.

Debby Kathleen was stunned.
