ROSALINE
"Wow, Miss. Massimo is here today" "Nice meeting you" I smiled and stretched a hand to the lady in front of me. "Don't be so formal at a charity event" she smiled and pulled me into a light hug that lasted a second. I was a bit surprised at how informal she was since I had no idea who she was but I took it with a smile because Russo wasn't objecting. "You don't know who I am?" She asked and I offered a polite smile in response. "She's a distant relative. She doesn't care about family though so that explains why you don't know her." "That's a rude way to describe me, Mr. Massimo" "And yet it wasn't a lie. We will leave now." Russo stepped away and I walked after him. "Russo?" I whispered as I walked by his side. "What distant relative is she? I don't know her at all" "Let's not talk about her, Cara." Russo had a hard look on his face and it told me clearly that whoever that woman was, Russo didn't like her. "We will talk about it when we get home." I said to him in a stern tone, letting him know I wanted to know who she was to him or to us. "Mr. Massimo" "Mr. Remington" Both men exchanged a firm handshake before the man shifted his gaze to me. "Is this your date for the night? Or is this the beautiful Miss. Rosaline Massimo?" Mr. Remington asked and I stretched my hand out for a handshake. "I am Rosaline Massimo..." Russo stepped in between us before the man could accept my handshake. "I would rather you not touch my niece. And you definitely would not want to do anything that annoys me, would you?" I heard him ask and Mr. Remington took a step back. "I... wasn't actually going to hit on her but understood, Mr. Massimo." "Follow me, Cara" Russo led me to a table. "Here" he pulled out a chair for me and I settled in it gently. "The event should start in about ten minutes and in thirty minutes, the part we are here for should be over and we can get the fuck out of here before I lose it" he groaned. "Lose what?" I asked, raising a brow at him. "Without turning my head one tiny bit, I can easily count seven men with their eyes on you." "Russo" I chuckled. "And what if they do stare? You are the only one who gets to touch all of me, anyways" "I still do not want them staring." He insisted and I felt a sweet feeling in my toes. "Umm, these people here. Are they all just casual businessmen or are they involved in the mafia too?" I asked after a few seconds over looking around. "Most of them are. At least ninety percent of the men and women here are related to it somehow" he replied. "Wow" I mouthed. "If anyone gets on your nerves though, I can have them gotten rid of" His voice was firm and his gaze moved from me to another man who joined us at our table. "Nice meeting you, Mr. Massimo." Russo only responded with some stoic facial expression I could not put into words. "Who is the beauty?" "Rosaline Massimo" I didn't bother for a handshake this time around. "Wow, nice meeting you. You are truly a beauty like your mother." He complimented. "Thank you" I smiled back at him. "It's the first time you'd be attending the events, right?" "Quite so." I shrugged lightly. "If you have nothing to say, then Rosaline would very much love her privacy." "I actually have business to discuss." The man turned his gaze to Russo. Russo turned to me and got up on his feet. "Stay right here. I'd be back in a minute or two." A minute or two was pretty much a lie though and the event soon started without Russo being back but I was getting bored with it quite fast especially since the only person I was familiar with was nowhere to be found. Just at the moment I began searching for Russo with my eyes, my phone rang and pulling it out of my purse, I saw it was Rick calling. I stepped out of the venue to the gardens surrounding it which seemed a bit desolated now that the event had started. I wondered where Russo was gone off to and if I should call him up to know where he was but I decided not to. He had only been gone for about ten minutes after all and I didn't have to cling to him all the time. I was just his niece after all. Taking a walk around the place, I heard a small shout from a woman. "Let go of me!" It was a yell. "You bastards! I said let go of me!" The feminine voice came again and even though I knew it could be dangerous, I hurried towards the spot where I had heard the noise from. "What do you think you are doing?!" I raised my voice causing the three men to pause. Three men and a woman with half torn clothes. "Really?" I walked up to the three men, not minding the fact that I was walking into danger right now. "Trying to rape a woman right during a charity event? If you are so horny, why don't you three take each other to some hotel and fuck each other?" I questioned and one of them laughed before the others burst into laughing. "She is acting brave" one of them laughed and reached a hand out to grab me. "Turns out we will have two women to pour into tonight" another laughed as I moved out of the grasp of the one who had attempted to hold me. "Not a finger of me if you value your lives." I warned them confidently, trying to hide the little fear in me. I believed that Russo would be out searching for me by now or in the next few minutes but there was also a slight chance that he was still held up. "She speaks like she's important. Do you know who our friend is?" One of them asked and the one holding the sobbing woman stepped close to me. With the arrogant look on his face, I knew immediately that he was probably the son of some important man around. He would probably get spared with a hit to his face even if Russo got here after all Russo would not want to cause much trouble for himself. But I soon recognized the bastard in front of me. We had gone to the same college and he had molested a girl back in college and won the lawsuit in some twisted way. I felt anger run through me. I might not be able to get him killed but I would make sure he didn't go off with just a few hits. "Do you know who I am?" He questioned arrogantly as one of his friends groped the woman's breasts causing her to sob. With a hard look on my face, I raised my hand and slapped... Myself. Yes, I slapped myself, surprising him. I raised my hand again and slapped myself two more times before dropping my hand to my side. "Caramia?" I heard the familiar voice behind me and I felt every trace of panic that I had been trying hard to hide earlier vanishing into the air. "Russo" I turned to face him with my now teary eyes. "He hit you?" Russo's eyes lit with fire as he stopped in front of me, looking at my red cheeks before looking to the guy behind me. My red cheeks had provoked him. "Rio??" Russo called the guy's name. "Mr... Mr. Massimo, I did not..." Russo pulled a gun out and there was a gunshot, followed by a thud. "We did not..." Another gunshot. "Please hear me out, we really did not..." Another gunshot and then Russo dropped the gun and moved to the first guy and only then did I realise that the first guy wasn't dead. Russo had shot him in the leg. He grabbed him and hit him in the face over and over again until his face was red and bleeding. Just like I guessed, he was the son of someone so important that Russo didn't want to kill him. Russo pulled away and walked back to me. "Take his body to my torture room. I will let him know what happens to bastards who touch my woman." He ordered and his other two men moved to the body and picked it up. My eyes widened in surprise. He was going to torture the guy?? "Torture??" "You didn't think I was going to spare him or give him a fucking easy death? I am going to torture that bastard to death so he fucking knows in his damned next life not to lay his filthy hands on my fucking woman!" "Isn't... Isn't this guy somewhat important?" "Important?? You are the most important, Caramia. Anyone who fucking touches you dies." TBC I am very sorry for the repeated chapter. I can't resolve the issue until Monday so I have made this chapter free. I apologize for the inconvenience.PIETRO GIACOMETTI I hated the noise. No matter how quiet they tried to be, they could not be quiet enough for me. I didn't just hate the noise, I hated the smiles on their faces and I hated how free they were, running around. If there was anything I wanted to do right now, I wanted to tie them all to a tree and drench them in fuel and watch them shake in fright while I played with a lighter. The children of the workers in our home. My mother was the reason they were here, she was the only one who thought it was a good idea to have a home built for all our workers, where they could live with their family. I shaded the drawing I was making. A drawing of a dying man with his toes chopped off. The inspiration for the drawing? Watching my dad chop toes off a pathetic man last night. "Who are you?" I heard the children ask in one loud voice. I raised my gaze and saw them gathered around a tree. A little girl was sitting under the tree, a drawing book in her hands too. I had never not
The Wedding ROSALINE MASSIMO With gentle and steady steps, I walked down the aisle. Every step I took was calculated. The wedding organising had included the aisle walk training. My dress flowed down and with every step, the several yards of dress flowed after me. A sparkly white dress, with red roses splashed all over the flowing part of it. My gaze was fixated on Russo who was standing at the altar, waiting for me. He was staring at me with a loving look on his face and I couldn't stop the smile on my face too even though my smiles could not be seen under the veil I was wearing. In the past, if I ever pictured a wedding, it would be Russo walking me down the aisle to another man but it was the opposite now and I couldn't be happier. The venue had been beautifully decorated to specifically match my taste. A warm golden light lit up the place and the aisle, long and spread with rose flowers. I was holding a bouquet of Juliet roses. I finally got to Russo and he reached a
ROSALINE "She's so adorable, isn't she? I had so much fun today. Making her happy made me happy too." I giggled as we walked into our room, Russo's hands on my waist. "Seeing you this happy makes me happy too, fairy godmother" Russo said with a chuckle. I was still dressed in the fairy godmother costume and still had the wand in hand. "Come, come over here" I motioned him to come stand in front of me.His hands slid, changing position until he was in front of me, holding my waist still. The fact that he wasn't letting go of my waist made me feel sweet. "This sweet fairy is going to bless you" "Hmm, and how am I getting blessed?" He asked, a hint of smile on his face. "With a beautiful sprinkle of happiness" I waved the wand all over him. "The wand isn't enough to give me happiness""Really? Then what will make you happy?""The fairy herself" he replied and picked me up from the floor. I laughed softly as he lifted me and didn't let go until he dropped me on the bed and got ab
AUTHOR'S POVRick sat at the diner, phone on the table and a bag by his side. It took only about a minute of waiting before Melinda walked in the diner door. Her eyes looked around for a second before they settled on Rick. She walked over to him and sat opposite him. "Are you okay?" Was her first question. She had a worried expression on her face. "Well, quite so" Rick shrugged his shoulders lightly."You've been distant for the past few days and you don't look too good" Melinda noted out, referring to the bruises on his face and Rick simply pressed his lips into a thin line for the next few seconds. "Should I have remained close, then?" He finally spoke, directing his gaze to her. "Tim is no longer with me. He... He is unwilling to let go of what happened." Melinda sighed softly. "As it should be. You ruined whatever was left of this entire friendship, Melinda." Rick accused. "Don't put the entire blame on me" Melinda shook her head lightly. "Then whom do I put it on? Tim? Fo
ROSALINE I was frozen against the wall, my ears ringing and my heart thumping at the words I had just heard. I knew it. I just knew that it wasn't supposed to be a date only! "You..." I found my voice under his searching eyes. "You were going to ask me to marry you? Not just become your girlfriend officially?" I asked and he pressed up against me, making me feel the hard on from his completely drenched trousers. "I know what I want, Cara. And you also want me, there's no need to take the longer route, is there?"My heart was pounding. He was right. I was never going to let go of him so why in the world should we take the longer route?!"I... Well, you said you wanted to ask me to marry you. Do you still want to ask me to marry you? I mean, is the proposal still valid?" I asked, my words a jumble. My brain was turning into a mush at this point and it wasn't my fault!"You know that proposal is forever valid" he lifted my chin up with a finger. I couldn't take the burst of joy in m
ROSALINE I pulled my blood stained shirt off gently and looked at Russo who was getting rid of the blood soaked shirt he had on. I hadn't let him go back in there to finish up like he had said he wanted to. I had insisted that he come home with me right away because I needed him and I was glad he came home with me. Diane was still asleep and I wanted us both clean from the blood before the little girl would wake up. "Cara" Russo's hands gently touched my waist and I shut my eyes lightly at the feel of his fingers. It made me feel at peace and I didn't hesitate before leaning in to his bare chest and feeling the warm of him. He wrapped his arms around me."Russo" I whispered his name. "Let's take a bath together" I whispered and he took a step back almost instantly. I grumbled the loss of his warmth around me. "No, Cara. You go take a bath first and I'll go in after you or I'll go use another room." He said and my brows furrowed. I turned back to face him, the look of confusion
